Yep and no comparison can be made for that dynamic cloud drawn on a painting which we identify as Harry Kane

I instantly knew it was a 90s or early 00's watch given by the colour of the hands on the dial. I have a G-shock from the same era that shares the same look.

1721154485719.png

I do love the look of it but the battery life on it does suck and adjusting the analogue part of it for DST is a pain. The battery in it is dead and I havent replaced with another for a long time as id only be able to wear it for part of a year.

It was my first "big boy" watch. When you finally get a proper job, pick up a proper pay cheque and graduate from cheap casios and other random watches with rubber straps that get eaten by sweat and break to something that will probably kill someone if launched hard enough ;)

I could tell yours has been places given by the dust/grime on it  All its missing are its ribbons

Really? My tour operator's info pack said we need one, I thought it strange as they are a commonwealth country, unless of course they just prefer the Scots which is hard to believe :D

Edit: Just double checked, I was wrong, not a visa but an Electronic Travel Authorization is required if arriving by plane.

It's not a VISA, but an online form (eTA).

I've been three times and this is all we needed.

Does anybody have any experience with the AMD web store?

I'm thinking about upgrading my spare 6500 XT to a 7600, and I really like the original AMD version because it's so sleek and compact. The web store says it's £250, which is high, but tolerable if I can sell my 6500 XT around 100-ish quid, but once I log in, the price changes to £303, which is way too much, imo. The other weird thing is that I can put it in my basket for the lower price without logging in and it seems to stay like that. I'm a bit scared to click "buy", though, especially since I still have the 6500 XT. I really don't want to spend 300 plus shipping for a spare part.

Different topic:

Does anybody have any experience with safety boots?

I'm currently using the DeWalt Bolster, which is nice and comfy as long as I don't do too much walking, which unfortunately, my job involves, and then, my right toe gets all bruised and blue, like a vein gets blocked or something. I really need something better (possibly wider?), just don't know which one to get.

is the watch still good though?
Yeah it is, very light and display is decent.
Buttons are a bit hard to press with my chunk thumbs but overall i'm pleased with it.
Most likely be wearing it as my casual/daily driver and then wear my other 2 for occasion only now.

Strange, I go the the AMD store and the price is shown as £255.21, if I add it to my basket and then go to check out (payment page) it remains that price.

shoes are a very subjective thing. Best thing you can do is order a few different brands and sizes from screwfix, try them on then return the ones that dont fit.

Alternatively if your employer has a costco membership as part of its perks or you know someone that does, It would be worth going to costco to have a look. You'll be able to try the shoes on before buying.

It sounds like the shoes are too narrow for your wide feet.

Yeah, it does that. But if I log in, and go back to the product page, it's shown as £303.

The ones I got feel like they fit perfectly until I spend a whole shift walking around. And then the above happens. :(

I wanted to say something about Screwfix's selection, but I'm not sure if it's a good idea considering I work for them.

That would be the best, I guess. Or Sports Direct maybe? Or did they stop selling work boots? I haven't been there in ages.

It sounds like the shoes are too narrow for your wide feet.
Yep. :( A really special case, I guess. At least I haven't heard about anyone with the same issue.

Try a half or full size up in the same shoes and see what happens if you want the easy solution.

I would avoid sportsdirect altogether.

::EDIT::

I would still avoid sportsdirect despite Tatty's response. Reason being. If you dont like the shoes and you want to return them for a refund, they'll only give you store credit and they'll charge you £5 even if you collect from one of their stores.

I've been happy with Cat brand work boots with composite toe. Comfortable and lighter than steel.

IMHO you should fine a B&M shoe store and properly measure your foot, then look for a new boot.

Try a half or full size up in the same shoes and see what happens if you want the easy solution.

I would avoid sportsdirect altogether.

::EDIT::

I would still avoid sportsdirect despite Tatty's response. Reason being. If you dont like the shoes and you want to return them for a refund, they'll only give you store credit and they'll charge you £5 even if you collect from one of their stores.
I am not a fan of SD either TBH, was just answering his question :p

heat!!!

I got no AC... just 2 desk fans on mid-settings on the go. Sometimes i just prefer the shitty weather we usually get over these sudden heat attacks

The way I try and cope from the heat is minimise PC or electrical use, leave all your blinds/curtains down to block out the sun.
Then when it's cooler in the evening, try have the windows and patio doors open to allow cool air in. You could even wack your fans by your window/doors to pull cool air in the house in the evening.
As for people that commute by car, get yourself a reflective windscreen cover, makes a huge difference when trying to get in the car and drive after it sits out in the sun from 9-5pm.

This will also protect the dash aswell and prevent it from cracking in the future
