So they make new mixing faucets that fit the traditional two faucet spacing. US companies (Home Depot - Lowes) would make sure nothing like that existed so you would be forced to buy a faucet and a sink. lolTwo-hole sinks still have two inlets (as @68Olds was saying), but the modern tap will still be a mixer. Lots of old houses have old pipework, so even a new sink/basin has to accomodate the possibility.
