Even though I'm at Novigrad, I ended up going back in the countryside east of there. I had to gain some experience, since I am 13, and even the quest to help the swordsmith is some ridiculous level! I did however, unload my gear, and I'm selling to each specialized merchant by category, so I have over 4,000 crowns now! Yay!

Ya i got to that swordsmith at like lvl 5 and was pumped to get some sweet sword... think it's like a lvl 20 mission -_-

Some of these boss fights make me want to tear my freaking hair out OMG.

Shield yourself, hit twice, dodge/roll away, (reshield if hit), hit twice, dodge/roll away, Repeat

If your playing on low difficulty just use the stun spell instead.

Lol, so true!! I took on one contract today that required me to meditate 10 times and use all my repair kits to defeat it, bc it was like a level 24 contract, and I am 14.

Has anyone gone down and seen the incomprehensible size of the main Nilfgardian Army camp? Radavid doesn't stand a chance!

Only saw on map. And even on map it's looks hugely impressive

It's staggering, the size of the Nilfgard main force. Their army is probably as big as the whole population of the northern kingdoms!

There's some contracts there, and some interesting places and encounters in the semi-vicinity.

Oh, also had a guarded treasure encounter today. The creature is nearly indestructible, but very slow. After 30 seconds of him very nearly kicking my ass, i jogged away. He followed me a very long way from his treasure. I doubled back in a half circle at a sprint, and looted all the awesome treasure!! I thought that was an interesting solution, since I couldnt just leave all that treasure there.

LMAO! Thanks, but until I actually defeated one there WAS no entry in my bestiary. I managed to damage one and had almost no health left. So I ran screaming like a little girl, with one on my heels like a rabid dog on a mail deliverer,, eating baked potatoes as fast as I could until finally turning around and did a final showdown. That's the only time I had the opportunity to cast Anything and fight. I hate them soooo badly!

To think a Witcher could survive a dangerous fight with only baked potatoes...

Please call me a masochist if you will, but is it not fun? It is situations like that that makes me love RPG so much.
Seriously, how many memorable events like that occured in Call of Duty?

And it was an unwise action I did. When I played the game for the first time, I was looking for a faster way to get better equipments. Looting the Nilfgardiaan's cache near Woesong and at their camp in White Orchard made them chasing me. And the guards in the game are very, very strong, they can hit and sustain massive amount of damage. Several guards in the watchtower near the Woesong bridge chased and attacked me, but one of them managed to kill me in just two hits.

It is my tactic the first time I played the game and I am still using it to outrun guards and monsters alike. Sometimes taking away the treasure without hitting the monster guarding it hits much harder than any sword swing to the face. Think about how embarassing it is for the guards or the monsters when they decide to chase us only to find that we run around them and successfully snatch their valuables and run away happily without even engaging in combat, never mind taking a hit.

If you've waited that long I suggest waiting a couple more months. New AMD card is coming out shortly.

If you up to gtx 980, i'd wait a bit, till gtx 980 Ti release. Then gtx 980 most likely will drop the price

In the meantime, you don't really need Ultra. High settings, then medium shadows, and ultra detail level. Looks fantastic. Try it out!

If nothing new comes in your price range, a GTX 970 is a good deal. I upgraded my 7970 to a 970 and the 970 is much better, even at 1440p. At 1080p it will be even better. Though, I'm pretty sure the two new high end cards coming from Nvidia and AMD will be in your price range.

I'm using 970 sli at 1080p and I max it just fine.
All I have is the main story quest and buch of stuff ? Marks in akellige that requires a boat. Mostly treasure hunts and smugglers cache. I'm going see about knocking some today. Since CD project said they were concentrating on this game for the next year and some I expect a ton of areas added.
