How long does it take to complete this game ciz I have heard stories

My first playtgrough was 135 hours. My second at about 40% complete, is 70 hours, so it will end up being about 150 hours, I imagine.

My playstyle is to immerse myself in the world, do all the side missions and contracts, and explore everywhere. There is stuff to discover everywhere. This is a real, living world, which rewards you for getting off the road. The side missions are many tomes very long, and have diverse branches and twists like the main story. They aren't an afterthought like alot of RPG side quests are.

If you explore every area, talk to NPCs, go do sidequests, play Gwent etc. it took me two months to finish it, i say about 150 hours did all the side quests, played Gwent and more than half of ? around the map, i played mostly on Hard difficulty.

If you only get to play two hours a night and a bit more when off work, it COULD. It took me a month to complete my first playthrough listed above. But it's not about completion, it's about enjoying the world, immersing yourself. I actually didn't want it to end.

Exactly i played the bulk on weekends and about one hour on work days(i play DCS World and Dirt rally also). I too didnt want it to end especially the witcher contracts. Will wait for new game + and the end of October for the DLCs to play it a 2nd time.

I returned to the game last night, having finished once two weeks ago. It updated to 1.08. I don't know why but the game felt faster, so I upped my settings and it runs good! Felt smoother. Maybe it's just me but if not, that means CDPR still optimizing the engine even after months of release... nice, really nice of them to do.

That just shows how the game can be enjoyed with many speed pace and style like droopyro said. You can even choose "just the story" and the combat-able enemies will be easier to defeat, you can also ignore all the side quests and go straight ahead with the main. Anyway, anyone that have played Witcher 3 would be comparing the next AAA RPG/adventure/openworld games to it. And so our expectancy as gamers for this genre will be higher because thanks to Witcher 3, it has set a new level above all. I do hope you give it a try and find it a game worth playing.

i just started a new game+ cuz why not and the items get increased lvs so cant wait to see how much more powerful that will make witcher gears. im on the hardest setting of course lol.

Woohoo!! I'm amazed anyone remembered that sidenote! I only heard the rumor somewhere.

Thanks for the update...a little over a month to go. Dang, I have some more backlogged games to work through before then.

EDIT : apparently the patch is "only" 6.4 GB on Steam, don't know about GOG though, hopefully not 15 GB.

Damn! I read those reviews, and it seems CDPR doesn't let up. Make masterpiece? Check. Make almost a score of free DLC? Check. Continue with paid expansions, making the first one to release as good as the main game? Check!

I think now its time to start witcher 3. Was dusting from very release played onlynfor 1h.but now seems they improved it. Need to look for some mods aswell just to be sure.

Really don't need any mods. It's the first moddable game that I have found to be totally worthy of playing without any mods!

Need a mod to remove depression if you get the bad ending. The workaround is of course to reply from before those choices are available.

Can't wait for Hearts of Stone, will make sure to do all side quests first.

Yes, considerably more. Even without doing all side questa, just get out there and explore the world that has been created in the game.

It's what defines it. It's not about kill A to win B. It's about 'explore A-Z, and by the way, there's also a big quest'
