Pretty Close thinking that CPU is on stock!!!
Cards running @900 core/1250mem no volts needed
http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=43198&stc=1&d=1313597599

ahhh I hate my cpu cooler now....hit 55'C during unigine run...so much for WC..:banghead:

I'm pretty sure this is more graphically demanding than the cpu would matter. my cpu only goes to like 18% during this bench...

As far as the debate on using one crossfire bridge.. i'm going to try one and run a bunch of benches tonight and see what happens.. we'll see.

Depends on the card.

AMD says for 6950:

http://www.amd.com/us/products/desk...6950/Pages/amd-radeon-hd-6950-overview.aspx#5

Under "Footnotes". One bridge per additional card. 2 cards = 1 bridge, 3 cards = 2 bridges, 4 cards = 3 bridges. Maybe placebo effect, but I do think things ran better using just one.

Nice CPU, BTW, Exodus. Wish mine would clock like that.:laugh:

well thats interesting because with 1 bridge i get graphical corruption in certain games 2 bridges everything runs fine and dandy had the same issue with the 5850s as well.

You have a ton of problems with your cards, technically. I did too, when running the 5-series cards. So maybe you are a special situation.

well like i said its certain games, and most of these weird issues tend to crop up in Open GL titles

Yea i only have 1 crossfire bridge, from everything ive read on it, its says:

2 Cards = 1 Bridge
3 Cards = 2 Bridges
4 Cards = 3 Bridges

I thought this was the norm, what about you Exodus, your using same cards as mine, are you using 1 or 2 bridges?

i had two bridges in.. i'm working through some issues with crysis 2.. like i only get like 40fps on ultra with dx11 and high res.. not sure if that's normal or if there is something wrong. on the lowest settings it seems to be capped at 100 fps...

i have 1 bridge at the moment to test the theories.. i have seen no change in scores or performance in the benches i've run

btw i'm at 1000/1400 for a whole day now no crashes at 1.28v

I have similar performance with Crysis 2 on those same settings with 2x6950's 900/1375 but on 1 bridge. I'm going to try 2 later tonight and see if it makes a difference.

1.28! jeez. I get 1000Mhz core / 1450Mhz memory on 1.150-1.175, both cards, and 1200 tops on the unlocked 6950 I have.

You should never needlessly up voltage BRO. Always work your way up, not down.

I wish my cards would put out those numbers on that voltage. You must have great cards!

At 1.180, mine would crash when memory was set to 1425. Very impressive

Post up a bench or 2 of your 6950 at 1200mhz

Do u really need to up the memory so much!!!for what I recall increasing memory doesn't have a big impact in performance not to say at all!when set voltage to 1.180 you're giving more juice to the GPU not the memory.personally i keep mem frequency at default and up only GPU.
u can see my unigine score on page 3

On another note, i'm settling at 980/1400 1.24v they don't work any lower than that. and i haven't seen anybody else getting this guys voltages for the speeds...

Sure, I'll post some benches of the 6950 2GB. It's actually up for sale so I'll do it before it's gone.

1200Mhz core is completely impossible lol. I meant 1200mV not 1200Mhz

I'll do a Heaven 2.5 run right now on 1Ghz core, 1400Memory at 1200mV or less.

nice, thanx for that, and yeah 1200mV sounds a lot more reasonable... Not gonna lie i was a bit sceptical lol.

As far as voltages.. unlocked i can hit 980/1400 @ 1.23v.. maybe less i haven't really dialed it in yet. As far as 1000 i need 1.3 to hit that.. the memory seems to hold up ok.. well into the 1430's before i get issues. Given my gaming habits, 980/1400 seems to be a perfect speed

Now if only i got a better performance out of crysis 2.. currently with hi res textures and dx11 and extreme settings at 1920x1080 i'm only getting like 60-80... kinda thought i would be getting more lol.

Okay here we go. One is just a quick test to show it in action with gpu occt for a few secs just to show you I'm not Photoshopping or something stupid lol.

The other was a dry run of Heaven 2.5, you can see the gpu's settings in gpu-z and trixx.
It may not be the best score ever, but it's just to show you that this card runs really well, and quiet. It peaked at 60c during that run.

I will do another run at 1.750 volts. The results will show that it's still performing 100%

I have done runs at higher than 1.2 volts, but I get no performance increase. The minimum frames tend to be different every run, but the max and average always evens out.

CPU settings for the i7 950 in cpu-z etc. The 950 is oc'd at 4.0Ghz + HT. This machine has 6GB of dominator RAM at 8-8-8-24, 1531MHz at the moment.

This entire rig will be gone soon though, someone has already offered to buy it.

Anyways here you go!

Any other benches you want to see? Vantage? etc

you didnt see where crytek fucked up tessellation did you?

go into the AMD vision center go to the tessellation slider set it to 16-32 i recommend 16, image quality will remain the same but youll see a pretty big jump in performance.

upping the full 3d mode (4th register) in RBE to 1.175 i get 965mhz, it will run @1ghz but it has no effect on memory OC...
so are people saying they have seen an increase by upping the core voltage... deosnt make any sense to me...

and to anyone upgrading right now, unless your wanting to break some records and earn a few cups on hwbot. your going to be fine with 1 6950... as it will play bf3/rage ect. np...

i'd buy one just for the tech hit and then save the rest of the money towards a nice new 7970...
