I want something like this for my Pentium 2 400MHz machine
I have this card paired with a Pentium 2 450MHz. And I'm playing 2002 Fifa world cup on it.

Here an ATI rage 3D IIC

Perfect card for Pentium II era, I've had mine paired with PII 350 for years. Come to think of it, still do!

No no, don't misunderstand me. Used properly, that would be a great cooler for lower wattage CPU's. It's likely going to be limited to sub-100w CPUs though. It'll be a great cooler for MOST retro CPUs.

I get your point there.I did not realise it, that it only went up to 95tdp.It was only when i saw someone selling an origanal fatter Intel cooler with with cooper on the bottom, the one that i have. And found it has 130 tdp.In fact that is the same as the Snowman ones i have bought.I just looked in my email and saw that the origanal cooler had all ready been sent out :(I had a feeling it would have done no problem i will just send it back when i get it.

I had to load an OS onto the machine to get a reading of what it was.
I used both - The older, more reliable 1.59 version due to the machine's age and the newest as of this post (2.09) to be sure of what it was saying would be accurate and here it is.

Upload the info ? ... to fix the unknown state.

Not really old, but probably nostalgic for some

It sure did left it's mark.
We opened a new chapter in oc history back then with these boards and cpus.
We welcomed the bclk oc era.

This absolute behemoth of a laptop has now been "restored" into a 95% working shape.

ASUS RoG G71GX.

The bad: Unfortunately someone else before me nabbed the Q9000 inside.
The good: A dead and corroded Dell Precision M6400's heart, a T9600, now lives inside it :D (it was about the only thing salvageable besides the RAM sticks, even the 1080p LCD it had has issues)

Quick specs, as is:

- no battery (fortunately the one for M70/X71 models fits, the G71GX being heavily based from the X71S design)
- Geforce GTX260M 1GB GDDR5
- Core 2 Duo T9600 2.8GHz off a corroded M6400
- 17 inch 1440x900 LCD (to be upgraded soon, I have a leftover FHD 1920x1200 screen from my long defunct G70Sg)
- Win10 Enterprise LTSC IoT, skinned as XP w/ 98 icons
- 8GB DDR2 (1x4GB SK-Hynix + 2x2GB Samsung)
- 160GB HDD (temporarily, until I can source a spare X71S to take parts from)

It's tempting... the guys over at the VCFED forums have a few threads on the book8088 and the book8088 v2 was released recently. It seems there are a number of quality issues, but it sounds like the seller is good with returns/sending replacement parts. Additionally, the idea of having a portable 8088 PC is badass. Learn more about it in this thread.

SATA SSD. 960GB/1TB model would be inexpensive and perfectly compatible.
I know

What I meant is the parts I'd need a X71S for were the actual drive cages and the HDD cover. I do have the cover that goes over the whole HDD/CPU/GPU/RAM assembly, only the HDD cages are missing. The battery I can get a replacement PowerCell branded battery locally. (which are surprisingly good quality.)

Beautiful! You simply can't go wrong with Slot 1 platform, even if it's VIA based (personally, I prefer 440BX)

That motherboard is so shiny! Love the colour as well. What's with that price stamp on the south bridge?

it's for guarantee. it says something like 02. Maybe the year 2002?

Beautiful! You simply can't go wrong with Slot 1 platform, even if it's VIA based (personally, I prefer 440BX)

After having 2 times an Asus P2B with something broken to the CMOS battery/RTC i wanted something else

The only thing i still need now, is a Riva TNT2

For now, i installed an FX5500 128MB (Point of View)
At least i can use 1024x768 at 32bit color now, instead of 800x600 with 16 colors.

I couldn't find a Windows 98 driver for the S3 Trio64V+
There was 1 driver in Windows 98 (765), but that didn't work at all. Device manager didn't accept it.

Thanks Scotty :) I agree with you there it needs a good dusting .I will go for it :)I am getting this to go with it.For some reason the seller was selling the CPU on its own .i don,t know why he did not leave it in the board.o_OHere it is
no bent pins there.:)£25 including postage.

Sempron are fun OC'ers. I ramped up a Vapochill once and kept the CPU below -40 to -25 degrees. Good for a 4.2Ghz.
