US Government Sanctions Deepcool Over Supplying to Blacklisted Russian Firms

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes!

Haha, the accountants and logistics guys sure messed up over at Deepcool and/or their clients. So many Chinese firms are supplying all sorts of things to all sorts of orgs that of all them Deepcool being singled out feels very weird.

It's an argument that pretends there's no scale or goal to actions.
Yes let's quit while you're ahead ~
Why is this relevant now? Because it happened 50-60 years back, happened in the 80's then 90's then last decade & this decade as well.

Nice. Ideally we will cut off ALL companies supplying Russia from the US market. Then in a few years we can embargo Russia entirely.

I hope they are separated from the world economy for what they do at Bucha.

After watching the video of a Kalmyk castrate a Ukrainian prisoner I was shocked to find thousands of Russians commenting positively. I thought they were human but it seems they are goblins in human form.

@Assimilator @evernessince
Meh, I concede. Russia will fall, every dorty Ruskie will hopefully die of starvation and lack of PC parts, America teh best, whatever.

Joking. This isn’t me being bitter or anything, I like talking to you guys. It’s just you are putting me in a weird situation - I can assure you that what I said above, including looking at the companies mentioned using my contacts isn’t an “anecdotal” thing, nor do I know just “a handful” of Russians. I am just not about to lay all my cards on the table with citing my sources due to, you know, them BEING in Russia and all that entails. Whether you take me at my word here or not is immaterial to me, but I have to be purposefully a bit obtuse in this.

Let’s just move on from here

Aaaaand that’s where the topic should be locked, methinks.

Why? Russians celebrate their war crimes. They take pride in being comic book villains on The Wrong Side™.
Can we please lock this now political thread.

A thread about sanctions? Being political? No way...
The article writers know and would lock immediately if they didn't care about engagement.

Just like when under news and videos for the terrorist attack in Russia where over hundred people were killed and there were so many praises and wishes for more killed russians from ukrainian and americans. I thought they were human but it seems they are goblins in human form.

You can't do that by kicking companies out of U.S. market because countries to the east/south of Russia exist and the goods flow through them. As mentioned before - it's an endless whack-a-mole game. Embargoes are effected by force, not by papers.

If you research the world exclusively by reading youtube comments and then apply this logic to every other nation and their past and current conflicts instead of limiting it selectively to russians, you might accidentally come to the conclusion that this world is full of goblins and comic book villains.

No, it's primarily Russians at the present. Putin himself admits to 10,000 dead Russians a month. Imagine what other European country would be so stupid as to tolerate monthly deaths like that in a war of aggression. It is an insane country following the same steps as post-war Germany (we were denied our place in the Sun; we will retake it by force) but much less successfully.

Good. China has been supplying them left and right with crap while talking out the other side of their mouth.

Any Russian? Did you know that there is 144 million of them? If you seriously want to hurt all of them for no other reason than being fed some propaganda yourself, then you must be a horrible human being.

Yes, it is partially the point of the sanctions themselves.

Ultimately the power to change their (the people's) current situation lies squarely in their hands.
They are at the mercy of a brutal dictator, and the only way they are going to be free of it is to rise up and do something.

Their freedoms are gone, their opposition leader has been jailed / killed off - they are literally on their own, and if they need a push to get there - so be it.

Hahaha... Funny to read. Look less videos in such case. You will be more healthy.

You watch some weird Russians. The ones I watch catch big pike and modify Ladas.
You can ignore that they are fighting a war in the most heinous way if you like.
But they aren't being sanctioned because of their Lada mechanics. Companies doing business with Russian companies related to the war effort will be sanctioned regardless of your favorite fishing Russians.

Look less videos? Why don't you make less videos.

Why don't you make less videos.
I make videos only if someone ask me to do so. Last one was ASUS R&D. They did few mistakes in BIOS firmware. (still didn't release new one).

Because it's not a race thing. You don't wake up as a Russian and celebrate war crimes. While the government may not exactly be great about those things, your wording making it a racial/national thing is problematic.

It kinda is, but I believe there is good people everywhere too. A ying yang thing, if you will.

I guess US will go after every successful company there is out there. They will find a reason to do so and at the same time, eliminate some strong competition for the US companies.

Moreover, denying the humanity of your opponents is the first step to denying them any rights. I'm saddened to see some of our posters falling to this level. Then there's the naivete of typical, coddled westerners who have no idea of life outside their countries as seen in post # 40 above. Few of us would have the courage to stand up to a tyrannical regime if we lived in countries like North Korea or Russia.

"BEIJING DEEPCOOL INDUSTRIES CO LTD is a PRC-based company involved in the supply of over $1 million worth of CHPL items to Russian companies, including the U.S.-designated, Russia-based AKTSIONERNOE OBSHCHESTVO TASKOM and OOO NOVYI AI TI PROEKT," the State Department release says.

Okay, this is actually even stupider than I thought. I ran the companies and looked things up via contacts of mine and… Well, Таском (TASKOM) is a fairly small logistics company from Kaluga, of all places. I guess the idea here is that maybe the military uses their warehouses? And Новый IT (NOVIY AI TI) is… literally just a small PC part distributor. Really. Not even a significant one, not a government backed one, they just trade PC parts via several marketplaces. That’s it.

So now because of this DEEPCOOL has to exit the US market? Have I mentioned already that this is a farce?
Those companies could be used to keep items flowing to the country while being "off radar" for the exact reason you said: small companies, traders, no big deal, etc.. 1kk is nothing, but, imagine a bunch of "small PC part distributors" buying 1-5kk of goodies every month, and you might end with billions on the run.

Theories aside, I think the concept is to not ignore small fish in business, even less in a war.

I'm not a McNugget myself, so anyway...

There is no way they're helping Russia. What are they going to do, water cool their tanks?? A mystique aio would look so nice in a fractal north set to a rainy gif, apparently the government says otherwise :/
All I hear is womp womp, give me my aio

That explains the behaviour of Russian citizens. It does not excuse it, especially when innocent Ukrainian civilians are dying. Everyone has a choice, and choosing to do nothing is the easy one.

It's easy to condemn them while we are living our safe lives without having known insecurity or deprivation. Don't forget that we tolerate similar excesses when the oppressors are our allies or when our own armed forces behave similarly. I won't link to any examples, but if you are as well-informed as you seem to be, you would know which countries I am referring to.
