What are you playing?

Are you playing with Frame Generation too in CB2077? If so how do you like it?

Yes, that's what i was waiting for (i seem to pick the games with FG and RT lately, with the exception of Diablo 4 haha), with FG on, DLSS set to Quality, RT settings on Psycho (and 0.1 sharpening) the benchmark gets around 105-106fps (undervolted to 0.95v and +750 memory OC gets the same FPS as totally stock but with around 90W less power use and 6°C less), looks way better than it did in 2020 when i played it on a 5700XT at 4K and around 30fps if i was lucky on medium settings. I remember a shooting contest and i hit only one target, didn't really know what was happening due to low FPS hahaha :D

There is a little ghosting from time to time, even in the benchmark the FPS numbers has a little glow to it, but nothing major that would make me focus on it, it's not like you walk around looking for flaws in the game anyway. Nice to see the bugs fixed and it's the first time i see some side missions that were bugged in 2020 and you couldn't really start them, or finish them lol.

this series gets so many remasters even when the game hasn't been out that long, it rubs me the wrong way, but I still like the games. are they really worth the remaster titling in your experience? I know you love these games, so no one better to ask.

I feel the same about DLSS 'Quality', honestly when I'm actually playing the game and focused on that I really can't notice anything being worse so its a win for me.
I've picked up the game in late 2022 so by the time I started playing it most of the bigger bugs were fixed I think. 'I did the same with Witcher 3, only started playing it when it had the game of the year edition that ran issue free for me'

So far after ~35+ hours played/done more side missions than main story I'm yet to experience anything game breaking, theres the occasional collision/physics related bugs but thats like whatever I've seen worse or the same in many other games over the years and its not affecting my gameplay/fun.

I used to play Citadel on my older Brother's Acorn Electron whilst listening to Stan Ridgway's Camouflage on repeat. It was 1986, it was the first game i ever completed and the first song I was addicted to...I was 6 years old  I still love the song to this day.

In other news, I'm powering on with learning Unreal Engine 5.1. I've been using it nearly a year now and learning, learning, learning. Weirdly enough, I'm also a massive fan of Life Is Strange and that's the type of game I'm looking to create. Its going to be based around modern conspiracy theories (aka the truth) I'll be starting a thread soon to get feedback from the community on specific features they would like to be included. Graphic options, key binds, refresh rates, accessibility, shader compiling etc etc

As a gamer through and through I aim to have good contact with the community and make sure I can make it as polished as possible. PC gamers get shafted regularly and it's a crying shame.

Wouldn't got these for the full price. But they were included with LiS: True Colors and it cost about 42EUR on Christmas sale.

Forgot to answer the question itself, why not if you can get those cheap. They use real motion-captured characters on remasters and well, looks hella nice at 4K.

And I truly love these. On my top-3 of game franchises (others being Final Fantasy and Resident Evil) :)

For someone who hasn't played the series (i know, shame shame shame) would you recommend starting with the remasters and skip the originals?

If you can get them cheap enough, oh hell yeah :) gameplay-wise they're the same, but like I said, remasters use motion-captured characters so it looks more lively. :toast:

Finished Deliver Us Mars in around 9 hours, anyone that played Deliver us the Moon will like it, good story, parts of it sad, philosophical and open ending. This time MC has company. DLSS 3 works great too, best implementation i've seen yet.

Forgot to take screenshots but it's raytracing galore most of the time :D Wonder what will be next and how it will be relevant to the premise, Deliver Us xxxxxx :)

Now time for CP2077 again after 2 years :rockout:

Some Cyberpunk stuff:
While I did not play this game I know it from the trailers and noticed it instantly in a lab, funny easter egg. 'its that baby thing from Death Stranding'
CBPStranding.jpg

Like a day after I spent pretty much all of my money a new car I randomly find this car via a random side mission:
CBPbatmobile1.jpg
CBPbatmobile2.jpg

Its another easter egg, no idea where I picked up the mission but in short that is Batman's car but the Cyberpunk version.:D

Also something nice to see, HD Reworked Project is in the works for the game from the same person who made it for Witcher 3 before the Remaster.
Used it during my first playthrough of Witcher 3 and it looked really good so I will definitely install this for Cyberpunk once its relased. 'supposedly the v1.0 relase should be soon-ish'

Back on Elden Ring. Finally progressing Ranni's questline. I needed to get into the Lake of Rot for my next level 8 and 9 Somber Smithing Stones. I got my Moonveil up to +9 grabbing the easily-available stones in Dragonbarrow. I had such an easy time fighting off the gargoyle outside of Bestial Sanctum with this build. Got him first try. The bridge dragon where the +9 stone is was a bit tougher and took 2 tries.

After that, I still needed to get my Carian Regal Scepter up to +9, so I figured I'd take the Ranni quest right up to the Astel fight. That fight, I'll come back for. I haven't even done much of Altus Plateau! But I am over level 100 with great damage options. I figured it'd be easy enough to carve through the areas you only reach via the back half of Ranni's questline. Lots of really good stuff and rune opportunities. Hence, to Lake of Rot I go.

Lake of Rot suuuuuccckkkks though, good lord. Big old poison swamp full of ultra-poison and scant platform puzzling for reprieve. And then they put a Dragonkin Soldier down there! Yet is has a stingy handful exceedingly rare, hard-to-acquire upgrade items. It's the Miyazaki supreme pizza.

I skipped that Dragonkin. They are tanky AF and smack super-hard with you having nowhere to go without quickly catching rot. The first one is tough enough in a normal arena. You do get a very good katana from beating him... the lightning one. I'm good with the Moonveil  It's maybe one of the most unforgiving challenges I've seen in a game, just in pure conditions. No punishment to try again, it puts you back *right* there. The fight itself is just extremely punishing, being stuck in a literal lake of rot with no horse. It really is almost impossible. And it's not like the bolluses to cure the rot condition grow on trees. In fact, the sacramental buds needed to make them are fucking playthrough-limited.

This is one of those times where I really have to wonder what they were thinking. For a damned lightning sword? I guess I should be glad it's not something ANYBODY, like... anybody EVER needs to go out of their way to get. That's gotta be the most skipped boss by people going to any specific location. It's absolutely ridiculous.

I did grab the items past him though. Ran over, grabbed everything around him, triggered the plate to bring up the platforms, and was killed immediately after. Teleport to the stake of Marika and you're safely on the other side of him, with him sleeping in the rot mire again. Go further through the rot mire, grab items, go back to grace site. I think I used ~30 bolluses just grabbing everything as efficiently as I could... nearly all I could make with the sacramental buds I had saved up. I had the full mushroom armor set, +1 immunizing horn charm, mottled necklace, immunizing cured meat... it's a pain to get around there - rot still procs fast with over 600 in immunity.

Character's about to be level 110. With 65 INT, I'm opting to take vigor up to 50 and mind up to 30. I could really use the vigor. The difference between 40 and 50 vigor is ~300 HP. Means something when you're just below 1500 HP. Once I get there, I'm hoping I can squeeze by to take my INT to the 80 cap that the scepter has. It's nice to not need charms with big defense drawbacks. Though maybe when I get some vigor, I can equip Seluvis's Magic Scorpion Charm. It's a pretty great 12% flat magic damage boost... but it reduces physical negation by 10%, which makes for a pretty frail character with the Nox set equipped. Its big weakness is already low physical negation.

What game Cvrk?
Looks like Warzone 2.0

Finished Quake - Scourge of Armagon, great fun, looks more like Doom than Quake, but have great times with it.
Now on the Dissolution of Eternity expansion pack.
First, I've found it hard, really really hard, nasty trick, few munitions, ennemies everywhere, spamming in your back, cannot restore health if you have more than 50 pts ...
I'm fine with difficulty, but here, man !, it's for expert !
I've destroyed the F5 / F9 keys, more than 2 hours for the level one ...
I gave up on the level 2 ...
And i've watched a youtube walktrough ... wait ... it's not the same ennemies i've had, seems less brutal ...
In fact, i've started the game in nightmare mode !
Restart in normal, and it's playing like a breeze !
Respect for those who finished it in nightmare mode !

Grinded the entire season as a new starter in Black Desert (A good looking MMO, but rather shallow in some other aspects, still there's reasons why the game is still popular), also started to play my old characters from FFXIV and Old School Runescape. But when all of the daily tasks are done and over with, people go offline. I know I can rely on playing BattleTech.

once I finish Legacy of the Void, I decided I am not putting it off anymore, finally going to play start to finish Dragon Age Origins and Dragon Age II, been wanting to do it for years, and just keep putting it off. I remember really loving it (only played like two hours many years ago), especially since it scales so nicely at 27" 1440p.

I wish there was an option in Steam to not update a game. Newest update broke ValheimPlus mod :(

you can go back.

just navigate to valheim in steam and right click go to properties and navigate to betas

its not perfect... not fine tuned... but at least you can go back to two different points? :/ sorry its not specific though

previous stable might be the one you are looking for though... it implies the patch before the most recent one, so that might fix your problems.

I tried that but the mod doesn't seem to work with them.
I'll endure without it too. And I still have ..checks library..other games to play
