@Splinterdog I have played everything Call of Duty. The last campaign that had a story like this.....was....... NEVER
Yes, you have COD back in the early days with Cpt. Price... this isnt' better. NO. it's different.

You can play it at a Veteran lvl of difficulty and the bots become smarter, and worth playing.

I'm nearing the end of Silent Hill 2. It just... keeps... getting... better. And with the extra endings and added difficulty for puzzles and combat, there will be a ton of replayability with this one.

Slight spoilers due to what I'll comment on and what is showing. Don't look if you don't want to know.

The Angela part was ridiculous! I knew it was coming... and yet I wasn't prepared for how it was going to impact me. It was borderline frightening.

Hm... that name seems familiar!

This one is "just because". Just because it's pretty. I got to that spot and didn't want to leave. I actually took like 10 pictures of the area but I cut them all except this one to keep the count down. The area was very pretty... and quiet.

I liked this scene. It, like many of the rest, had very good cinematography. The angles and position of the camera, as well as what it focuses on, and the character facial expressions all come together well. The work put into the faces and emotions adds some much weight and detail to these scenes. You definitely get funny faces if you take a screenshot at certain moments, but that's sort of like real life.

During the "big reveal" and those thee words are just as chilling 23 years later even if you know they are coming...

Speaking of the attention to detail, did you notice James becomes more weary and dirty as the game goes on? When looking at items and notes he holds, watch his hands and nails at the start and then near the middle and end. The detail of the environments is still blowing my mind 35 hours in. It's clear Bloober approached this remake with a labor of love and a severe attention to detail. Looking how dirty, run down, and deteriorated these environments look is just unreal. I'm at the end of the game and I still sometimes stop for a moment to look at a nasty bathtub, or a small pile of building rubble where a hole is now in the wall between rooms, or the deteriorated ceilings, and so on.

I'm pleased to say to despite the known bugs, some of which have prevented people from continuing for a while until they were addressed, I've encountered zero technical issues with this game up until this point. There's traversal stutter in the performance department, but I'm personally managing fine with it, and I have no other performance issues, no bugs, no crashes, nothing. The most "major" thing I've come across is certain items are hard to get the prompt to show up (the bullets in the first floor Brookhaven Hospital cafeteria is an infamous one and I wasn't able to get it), but that was it.

Finished Puzzle Bobble 4 / Bust-A-Move 4 (PS version on the PSP emulator, emulated by the PSVita !)
Simple and fun, I love the serie.
Made it through the Puzzle Mode, it's more or less +100 levels, without pause and no save.
About 1 hour, perfect before a little nap on a saturday raining afternoon.
Colored graphics, cute animations, silly japanese sounds and music.
Totally my kind of stuff.

I'm giving it another go, this time on my new gaming laptop, so I can figure out why it won't run on my main gaming rig.

I finished Silent Hill 2, and just in time for the release of Life is Strange Double Exposure in a few days. I'm far from done with this as I'll be revisiting it for further playthroughs, but for now I'll set it aside. The "New Game+" feature has some neat filters you can unlock with it, as well as additional endings.

Now that I formally finished this, I can finalize what I was saying anyway. Yes, easy recommendation. This is a wonderful remake. The biggest issues are technical (traversal stutter and some bugs, but I didn't run into any personally).

For reference, you can get one of three endings on the first playthough. I got the one I expected, haha. Skip this if you don't want to see parts of one of the endings, or see talk about various factors that contribute to the different endings.

I think the high numbers of enemies killed and high amount of damage taken/deaths is what got me this ending, called "In Water", over "Leave". Also, I attacked Pyramid Head in the first boss fight since I wanted to play it blind and not "manipulate" the game to get a certain ending. I would have been happy with any ending other than "Maria".

I'm happy with the ending I got and I think it's probably the "best" default one for a first time player ("Leave" is good too, and it's actually the "good" ending I suppose). What disappoints me though is that I apparently didn't find all the notes? I thought I was being super thorough; look at my dreadfully slow completion time. I wonder how many I missed, and where.

Played the first two chapters a little late (could've played two weeks ago already) from the new Life is Strange as a bonus with the most expensive version. Damn what a cliffhanger in the end of chapter 2.

The rest of the game luckily comes later today instead of the annoying episodic releases like in the first three games.

I was wondering if you were still playing or not.

So wait, how does that work?

I'm familiar with the original being episodic, but they were also bought that way in smaller individual prices, and sold over the year as it was developed. This one is a full price game instead, so was it just limited in how far you could go for the early buyers?

I've heard complaints about the game, but mostly it's because of the way Chloe was handled. Spoiler for the original game...

At the end of the first game, you have to choose whether Chloe dies, or whether all of Arcadia Bay gets destroyed/dies.

The way this new game apparently handles it is that Arcadia Bay is still around, but Chloe is too, and that Max and Chloe "broke up". This kind of leaves the ending of the first a case of "neither" as both survive, which I guess some fans are upset with after having to make a choice and come to terms with some form of loss.

Plus the growth of the relationship between Max and Chloe that occurred only to be broken offscreen. This one is a bit explainable though (they're young, and romances die all the time), but I could see for the sake of a game how fans might be upset with it.

To be honest, while this won't ruin the game for me, I get the complaints. It makes me wonder if they perhaps should have went with Chloe dying as the canonical ending (I'm pretty sure most fans accepted this as the more realistic canonical ending versus... Max letting all of Arcadia Bay and everyone in it die instead), unless she needs to play a big part in this new one and needs to be alive for that.

I'm just excited to be Max again, and the new story seems very interesting. I'll probably be able to overlook it myself.

But besides that, everything else I heard about the game itself is good so I'm excited.

I just "finished" Silent Hill 2 (I'll be back to it for more endings and playthroughs, but I completed it at least, so I can set is aside for now), so now I can devote it to this when it releases. Dragon Quest III 2D-HD Remake comes out next month too, which will make it tight, so I might be switching between those or delaying the latter.

Fuck the town, when the original's most important thing is saving Chloe, I don't care about the town.

(though dunno are spoiler tags needed that much for a 9+ year old game anymore....)

I guess the point was that preordering the most expensive version let the two first episodes (or chapters, like they're referred now) be played before the official launch. And when I finished the second one, it just said that the rest of the game will be available on 29.10.

And some cosmetic treats (like I use a Cactuar shirt, Chocobo shirt and a Moogle beanie :3)

Haha, yeah, some people are passionate about their choice.

But the impression I got (may be wrong?) is that most fans would have accepted the one ending over the other, as opposed to the dance around it that sort of disrespects both choices that they gave instead.

And I like to do spoilers anyway. You never know.

What!? I never knew of these. I need those! Haha.

Although, no way would I pre-order it just for those. So hopefully, they'll make these available later (they usually do, after a year or few), even if it's as paid DLC. A chocobo shirt sounds cute.

These days I've been playing EA Sports WRC (with the '24 update). It showed me that a racing series reboot can be done well, which I wasn't sure about after I felt that I got conned from buying Forza Motorsport and the recent crappiness of TDUSC. I think bought it in February of this year and I've been enjoying it since. Sure, the performance isn't nearly as good as DiRT Rally 2.0, but the rest of the game more than makes up for it. I think it's on its way to becoming one of my most played sim racing games; I have over 128 hours in it now (for me that's a lot because I don't spend > 2 hours gaming in a day). Aside from the dumb anticheat, I don't really think that EA made the game bad; Codemasters' skills are still shining through imho. Would recommend if you want an easy-to-learn rally game, just make sure you have a fairly decent PC (at least an RX 6600/RTX 2070+ for 1080p). If not, buy DiRT Rally 2.0 and experience the most frustration you've ever had in a racing game ;)

Would recommend if you want an easy-to-learn rally game, just make sure you have a fairly decent PC (at least an RX 6600/RTX 2070+ for 1080p). If not, buy DiRT Rally 2.0 and experience the most frustration you've ever had in a racing game ;)
I am going to try that again. Thanks for the update.

Also the exclusive cat content was already worth it! :3

Oh, so that's all part of the deluxe edition and not pre-order limited.

I doubt I'll buy it now since part of the price of that is probably accounting for the early access, and I probably don't want just that one thing enough to pay the whole difference. Well, unless you show a picture and I think it's cute enough or something haha, but even then I would probably still wait for the upgrade to be discounted at a later date.

For now, the base game will be fine enough.

I see it's also called "Final Fantasy VII content" which explains why I never looked further into it.

can't believe i am getting 45fps in ultra settings with my 1050 ti in rdr pc version released today. The game only allows max of 144fps and at low settings it was hitting that limit, high would probably a middle ground for constant 60fps and impressive visuals.

Srsly, Noita... I can't stop. Its addictive. Everywhere you go, everywhere you dig, there is more world to discover. More secrets, true mysteries... I just go off on yolo trips now and see what I can discover on my own... and the spells you can get your hands on are similarly wild AF. Plasma beams, the usual spellcaster fare, but also homing missiles, carpet bombing mods, drills, chainsaws and even a Holy Grenade (it doesn't say halleluja... but the blast fills the entire screen :D) Its also easy to get completely lost. I'm still playing with an infinite respawn mod and the ability to tinker with wands everywhere to start play... but there's also a Nightmare mode I'm defo gonna do without all of that :) The steep learning curve (basically: trial and error with a few dozen substances and thousands of options...) with permadeath alongside of it though is just a bit too much for me :D

Its been a really long time ago a game just oozed so much plain fun, mystery and rains so much new stuff on you all the time. It just constantly invites you to discover more things. A lot of it is also procedurally generated, so there's always sufficient RNG to make every playthrough different, even though the overall world is the same and very much scripted and ordered for stories and quests. The spells you get at each stage really determine how you'll handle stuff. And the attention to detail is staggering.

Late last night I figured I'd try to fly as high as I could and see if I could enter space. The skies do grow darker and darker... and then poof there's another huge location opening up once more... crazy. You start this game thinking you have to enter the depths, and that's the game. Nope. Its probably less than 10% of the map...

New Japan DLC came out for COTW Angler today.

Only spent a few minutes with it to get past intro and catch a few fish. Fresh reinstall on new OS, poor unoptimized settings used for screenshots.
