It was free, so I'm going to give this one a go tonight. Possibly the other one that was included in the bundle (Unknown 9: Awakening) depending if I dig this one or not.

If you liked Doom 2016, and/or if you like W40k in general, then you'll like this one, too.

Benchmark Scores bench...mark? i do leave mark on bench sometime, to remember which one is the most comfortable. :o
pleasantly surprised (Throne and Liberty) ... but it's NCsoft and Amazon ... i hope they will not do their usual, too soon ... (about 34hrs in it for now)

been playing it with controller and it's fun ...

the narrative part (Cut scene in main story) are done in an impressive style imho

strangely it remind me of Shadwen or Battle Chaser: Nightwar

the graphic is more than once scenic and quite good
20241018004140_1.jpg20241018004148_1.jpg

although i really hate the blur when using F12 (which i specially noticed in the 2 pics above)
20241018010514_1.jpg
seriously ... none of my "non cut scene" are clear ...

and i really like the 2 character limit since 1 char is not enough to use my favorite weapons combination (aka : Claymore and Bow and Claymore and Dual dagger)
TLPhotoMode_2024_10_20_224415.pngTLPhotoMode_2024_10_19_232527.png

since i got a steam gift card from my local shop contest i decided to splurge a little ... but i will not spend more later, playing it f2p + cosmetic and shop items you can acquire via ingame farm seems sufficient for now.

More Silent Hill 2.

I'm still a ways away from the end (this game is wonderfully lengthy compared to most survival horror games, and that's on top of the replayability it has), but every time I get further in and have more to say, it only strengthens my opinion about how good the game is. The traversal stutter issues is the one notable bad thing to say about the game, and I probably run into it less because I'm taking the game at a slower pace (walking often). Everything else is so good I'm able to tolerate it, but hopefully some patches come to improve it.

I'll put them in spoilers, again, even though they're not all major spoilers.

There will be two, and the second spoiler is a major spoiler, you've been warned, DO NOT look at it if you intend to play the game and haven't played the original!

Such a troublemaker!

If you look closely at the above picture, you'll see some of the imperfections of scaling as cutscenes are rendered at 30 FPS, and lower frame rates are where these imperfections show more. Since cutscenes are rendered in real time with the in-game engine and they aren't actual FMVs, this is another minor area for improvement in a future patch.

Here's the actual spoiler and again you've been warned.

PATCH 1.04 LOG:
I saw the patch this morning but haven't "played" since applying it. Here's what I did notice.

There's a "compiling shaders" screen every time when launching the game (this takes about five seconds for me so it's not long).

There's a new setting in the video settings. I haven't tried playing with it yet but the description says one should be better for faster CPUs/slower GPUs, another is better for slower CPUs/faster GPUs, and thelast is balanced. It has something to do with culling. That's not very descriptive, and it defaulted to the middle (I'm not sure if it defaults to the middle for everyone or if it detects stuff). This is the setting with the "HZB" mentioned (the rightmost one is called HZM disabled) and the patch notes you listed says disabling this should help on AMD/Intel GPUs so I'm not sure if this is where I should try it.

There's new frame generation options if you're using DLSS or FSR 3. I'm using XeSS (better results than FSR for me) and I can hold 60 FPS at 1920 x 1200 with everything at maximum (sans ray tracing) so I have no interest in trying this, but it's nice for those who want it. This may allow 1440p+ or 150%+ resolution scaling without scaling methods to be more performant for those chasing high refresh frame rates.

I didn't play enough to see how much traversal stutter is differen't, and going by "feel" isn't always very accurate to begin with.

Loading of saved games is much faster.

I thought you must be smoking something but I'm desperate to try anything...holy sheeet. I disabled HAGS...I had 50fps facing the mail boxes in the woodside apartments - now I have 81. WTF.

Thanks, i wanted your impression, it looks like they called it 1.04 but to me it looks more like a v1.0.0... and so much gamers finished it alreasy i'd say they should have waited, it's not like if that were dev not sure about sellings and so can work hard to fix for day1+ patch by selling it in a sate... it's KONAMI.

Now already a lot complaints are about FG badly implemented, idk all but i read menus and the like quoted. I'd enable FG without DLSS tho.

I've found the game enjoyable thus far (not finished, but only getting better) for what I'm looking to get out of it. At the settings I've configured (maximum but ray tracing is off, XeSS at Ultra, and 1920 x 1200 borderless fullscreen with v-sync), I hold a constant 60 FPS, and that's good enough for me. Sure, I need scaling, but I've been happy enough with the method I use since the game quickly becomes far more demanding on most GPUs at 1440p+ native. So, it's good enough for me. That's my impression and I can't say anything more than that since what I look to get out of it might be less strict than what others look to get out of it.

But traversal stutter is definitely present and it would be wonderful to see it become less prevalent. Not enough to put me off... but it's a "problem". I'm simply able to overlook it.

I can't comment on the performance drop in the apartments that everyone else mentions since I... just didn't experience it. This was the result of me limiting my performance to begin with (v-sync) and having enough overhead to absorb the increased performance demand and still remain at 60 FPS. But if your settings have you running closer to your hardware's limits and/or running without frame rate caps/sync, then yes, you'll probably see performance lower in the apartments based on what everyone else says.

Doing the exact same, frame cap at 60, ultra all the things no RT and Xess ultra quality. Looks good, rock steady, except stutter. I did switch on RT a few times, my god, its so pointless. The baked lighting and the dynamic aspects it already has are fine, presentation is great.

Mechwarrior 5 : Clans. Holy mother, with my 3080Ti I'm at 40 fps at max details, 1440p native. Bit the bullet and did DLSS for the first time ever (quality), lo and behold - 75-80 fps. Meh.

At least the game is fun and has a good storytelling this time.

Any fans of 7 days to die around here? What do you think of the 1.0 update?
My friend and I want to get a server for it, found one on 7d2d.net, and interesting to see what you all play on.

Just unlocked the blueprint maker in Satisfactory, a time saver. Vanilla this game is a grind but with a few mods it's golden.

Edit: most blueprints I found here, the big block I shamelessly ripped of someone on youtube.

Just finished Pyramid Song for I don't know how many times now. I still think this is the best companion sidequest in the game, doesn't mean other companion quest sucks they all great, added depth to this hollow main story.
Even so I still think this quest is a bit rushed, there isn't any in-between from previous FUBAR quest to this, it feels rushed because I didn't feel strong connection between V and her for her to trigger to do this very emotional quest, also it feels weird with male V because she still didn't treat him like she should, once I change her to romanceable I hearing the right tone of her voice when speaking to V, I mean how can she didn't want to do this with some randos and wanted the right emotional responses while she keep blocking emotions to male V? Just doesn't make sense to me.

Game was in a rough spot a few months back. New map DLC in just under a week looks a much brighter proposition after seeing changes that have been made.

Edit: In other news, realized XBOX account required to play Forza Horizon was setup with a email connected to failed corporate cell ransom plot. This is why you don't get connected to virtual things. New Game - (minus a lot I'll probably never get back to be honest).

I MAY try beating Omega Weapon ONE DAY but I don't promise anything...

Dave the Diver just got a free update where you can play Balatro the card game under the ocean on a side quest in Dave the Diver.... and if you beat it upgrades your weapons. So, I am going to play that.

I LOVE THESE COLLABS DAVE THE DIVER IS DOING! Honestly, the indie gaming scene has made me loving gaming so damn much.

WoW and even though my OG account is gone as so is my OG Orc hunter I am still basically reacting to everything as he, as in me, would: with utter disdain and contempt. Bliz should give characters the ability to end themselves in dramatic fashion, as protest to what their world has become.

So, I stopped playing the division to play Fallout 76 again after 1 year without playing it. I don't know what I drank but it doesn't look good lol. I'm on Manjaro BTW

Do you need to own both games or is this a free DLC being used as promotion?

No one makes a Hollywood shooter story like they do. And it's easy since no other company does anything remote. So whatever they offer, the industry accepts.
Those very positive reviews come from thirst. At this point the players will drink anything... and this anything at the moment me writing is what you see above.

Graphics 30% above BO2 from 2012, unjustified the only 110-140 variable fps I get.
AI (bots shooting, placement, response) 0% improved over 2012.

Multiplayer: dolphin diving front - back & stop in mid-air to cancel animation. :wtf:

If it wasn't for PC Xbox Gamepass this would have NEVER been worth the money.

Soooo. Noita. It took me all of 45 minutes before I started adding mods to my play :D This game is stupid hard. I need my noob infinite respawns for this to have fun (for now).

But holy crap the stuff that opens up to you then. This game is fcking amazing. You get wands with a number of slots and a bunch of stats, wrt how fast they fire and how much mana capacity and regen they have, and also how many spells they cast at a time. They contain spells. You can get a perk to edit those spells, as in, remove them and add them to wands at will. They also contain modifiers for spells. So basically you've got a constantly expanding toolbox of fireballs, slimeballs, homing missiles, shurikens, just a huge body of water you can drop somewhere... drills to dig holes... and modifiers to make one projectile spawn another, or trigger another spell, or split into four projectiles... etc. The game rains this stuff down on you as you progress deeper into the levels. A lot of it can kill you too. In fact, almost everything can and will kill you, too. Gameplay is pretty mad but taking things slow makes it manageable.

The game also has numerous different kinds of liquids and like everything else in the game, it is driven by a physics engine. Water seeps down holes, can dilute toxic water, you can drink it or bathe in it to clean other liquids off you. But there's also whiskey, gunpowder, acceleration, berserk, blood liquids... and everything is persistent (!), liquids mix up in pools too and you fill a flask with them to use later. Other substances and surfaces also all react to you and each other; metal can be electrified, steam and gases move up, winds can blow things away... These are really pretty much the systems the game has and you can do whatever with them. Its wonderful, simple yet utterly mindblowingly expansive in terms of options.

Its base resolution is also 1280x720 so its an absolutely perfect Deck game. I'm in love. You can do this forever, really, and keep finding new things.

Let's grab a different wand hm? How about one that fires a few giant firebolts, a path of dark fire, splits all those projectiles and basically clears the room? :D

Here's that Wand, casting 3 spells at a time, while I've added a triple cast modifier :) So they'll all go off

I also have Game Pass and if that's Call Of Duty MW3 campaign, it refused to run on my PC so I uninstalled it. It does look gorgeous and I'm wondering if I should try again.
In the meantime, Lara's wondering if she has room for this key...

Oh sheet. I've built myself a gatling gun. It fires so fast and I can just hold the button. This thing serves as a jetpack too. I can ascend to infinite heights now :eek: and the recoil is so bad it propels me backwards so I can travel horizontally much faster too. This is crazy

noita_2024_10_25_23_28_51_024.jpg

Yep... with this wand I just blazed through the last few stages of the game. I've been doing that backwards. Boosting through the map firing this wand all the time. Lmao
