It was free, so I'm going to give this one a go tonight. Possibly the other one that was included in the bundle (Unknown 9: Awakening) depending if I dig this one or not.

More Silent Hill 2.
I'm still a ways away from the end (this game is wonderfully lengthy compared to most survival horror games, and that's on top of the replayability it has), but every time I get further in and have more to say, it only strengthens my opinion about how good the game is. The traversal stutter issues is the one notable bad thing to say about the game, and I probably run into it less because I'm taking the game at a slower pace (walking often). Everything else is so good I'm able to tolerate it, but hopefully some patches come to improve it.
I'll put them in spoilers, again, even though they're not all major spoilers.
There will be two, and the second spoiler is a major spoiler, you've been warned, DO NOT look at it if you intend to play the game and haven't played the original!
Such a troublemaker!
If you look closely at the above picture, you'll see some of the imperfections of scaling as cutscenes are rendered at 30 FPS, and lower frame rates are where these imperfections show more. Since cutscenes are rendered in real time with the in-game engine and they aren't actual FMVs, this is another minor area for improvement in a future patch.
Here's the actual spoiler and again you've been warned.
Technical
- Reduced visual glitches when using the latest version of NVIDIA DLSS.
- Added an option to enable DLSS frame generation in the menu when using DLSS for supersampling.

I saw the patch this morning but haven't "played" since applying it. Here's what I did notice.
There's a "compiling shaders" screen every time when launching the game (this takes about five seconds for me so it's not long).
There's a new setting in the video settings. I haven't tried playing with it yet but the description says one should be better for faster CPUs/slower GPUs, another is better for slower CPUs/faster GPUs, and thelast is balanced. It has something to do with culling. That's not very descriptive, and it defaulted to the middle (I'm not sure if it defaults to the middle for everyone or if it detects stuff). This is the setting with the "HZB" mentioned (the rightmost one is called HZM disabled) and the patch notes you listed says disabling this should help on AMD/Intel GPUs so I'm not sure if this is where I should try it.
There's new frame generation options if you're using DLSS or FSR 3. I'm using XeSS (better results than FSR for me) and I can hold 60 FPS at 1920 x 1200 with everything at maximum (sans ray tracing) so I have no interest in trying this, but it's nice for those who want it. This may allow 1440p+ or 150%+ resolution scaling without scaling methods to be more performant for those chasing high refresh frame rates.
I didn't play enough to see how much traversal stutter is differen't, and going by "feel" isn't always very accurate to begin with.
Loading of saved games is much faster.
I thought you must be smoking something but I'm desperate to try anything...holy sheeet. I disabled HAGS...I had 50fps facing the mail boxes in the woodside apartments - now I have 81. WTF.

Doing the exact same, frame cap at 60, ultra all the things no RT and Xess ultra quality. Looks good, rock steady, except stutter. I did switch on RT a few times, my god, its so pointless. The baked lighting and the dynamic aspects it already has are fine, presentation is great.I've found the game enjoyable thus far (not finished, but only getting better) for what I'm looking to get out of it. At the settings I've configured (maximum but ray tracing is off, XeSS at Ultra, and 1920 x 1200 borderless fullscreen with v-sync), I hold a constant 60 FPS, and that's good enough for me. Sure, I need scaling, but I've been happy enough with the method I use since the game quickly becomes far more demanding on most GPUs at 1440p+ native. So, it's good enough for me. That's my impression and I can't say anything more than that since what I look to get out of it might be less strict than what others look to get out of it.
But traversal stutter is definitely present and it would be wonderful to see it become less prevalent. Not enough to put me off... but it's a "problem". I'm simply able to overlook it.
I can't comment on the performance drop in the apartments that everyone else mentions since I... just didn't experience it. This was the result of me limiting my performance to begin with (v-sync) and having enough overhead to absorb the increased performance demand and still remain at 60 FPS. But if your settings have you running closer to your hardware's limits and/or running without frame rate caps/sync, then yes, you'll probably see performance lower in the apartments based on what everyone else says.

I also have Game Pass and if that's Call Of Duty MW3 campaign, it refused to run on my PC so I uninstalled it. It does look gorgeous and I'm wondering if I should try again.View attachment 368902

No one makes a Hollywood shooter story like they do. And it's easy since no other company does anything remote. So whatever they offer, the industry accepts.
Those very positive reviews come from thirst. At this point the players will drink anything... and this anything at the moment me writing is what you see above.
Graphics 30% above BO2 from 2012, unjustified the only 110-140 variable fps I get.
AI (bots shooting, placement, response) 0% improved over 2012.
Multiplayer: dolphin diving front - back & stop in mid-air to cancel animation.
If it wasn't for PC Xbox Gamepass this would have NEVER been worth the money.
