What resolution? If you're inclined and have no problems doing so, 720p should grant you enough headroom to do RT if you also adjust your other settings.

(And yes, I'm aware, it's heresy to suggest 720p here on TPU. I don't care about those opinions, 720p properly adjusted still looks good and is fully playable AND enjoyable.)

720 in my experience is playable but with blurry text. Most text today relies on higher resolutions to look good.

True. Only made the suggestion because if you have to choose between softer visuals & high FPS and sharper visuals & lower FPS....

That's true , but I like being good at all things , and to let others see it can be done .
Ok, fair point. Different strokes and all. :toast:

Why?!? I mean... why? Keyboard & mouse are your friends!

You have no idea how many games I've passed over because they were kb/m only. Arcade games and consoles converged into PC gaming for the better. :p

Without straying from topic too much, for some games, controllers work very well and are the preferred input method. There are a few game types however where a KB&M is absolutely superior. FPS and RTS type games fall very squarely into that group. I'm one of those types that will not play an FPS unless KB&M support is used and competent. Same with RTS types. I refuse to play either of those too types of games with a controller.

So when Harm mentioned earlier the HL2RTX demo and then in the same statement a Playstation controller, I literally did a double-take to make sure I read it right. Totally understand that some folks enjoy a controller for FPS's. Not one of them, at all.

i tried it like a month ago, idk what's wrong with my pc, it just crashes when i activate it in any game and closes the app
It crashes on my desktop at first then I remember I need to put it to windowed borderless in game for it to work.

I tried 720p just now, indeed it work with minimum of 30fps most of the time if I disable some RT effects but it definitely playable

Make sure you do a heavy dose of Side Missions to level up before doing the later missions. The Shotgun is great at knock back. The Katana is a real weapon of force. Prepare to immerse yourself in Anime type Sci fi. I got back into it recently and am thoroughly enjoying it.

I've just finished Bramble: The Mountain King, I really enjoyed it although it's a bit short.

And I'm now onto a Witcher III complete playthrough as I previously have only played it on the Xbox but soon realised I wanted to wait and play it on PC

Benchmark Scores bench ? no time to lose with bench ! :)
After finishing Sonic the Hedgehog, just finished Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (on MD mini)
To me it's the best of the series, like Megaman 2 :)
Take the core of the first game, and do it better in many ways.
Love the music in this one, and the new areas are top notch.
The game pretty easy for the 2/3 but the last tier, without being impossible, is tricky ...
It's a good difficulty curve, you can flashspeed the early levels, and move carefully at the end.
Tails is not very useful here, unless you play with a friend, i've done it solo, with Sonic.
Still didn't look for the Chaos Emeralds as the pseudo 3D stages are really though !
It's great to dive in some nostalgia as good games never get olds !

Sonic The Hedgehog 2003.jpg

The theme for Emerald Hill Zone is one of my favorite, it really capture the whole Sonic experience !

Sonic The Hedgehog 2002.jpg

Mystic Cave Zone, reminds me some Sonic Spinball vibes.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2001.jpg

Oil Ocean Zone, where things starts to be tricky !

It's been a very long time since I used a controller for anything. I play racing and fighting games with KB&M.

A friend bought a G923, bottom of the barrel I know, but I never had a wheel before so I've spent some time checking out a few games with a good driving physics lately.

I'm not really used to trying to feel a vehicle only through a wheel (FFB), while having no feedback from the pedals and through the rest of the body. So I guess I kinda suck at it, unlike RL where I can drive on the edge for hours, and never cross the point of losing control. I guess I could quote Niki Lauda from the Rush: “God gave me an okay mind, but a really good ass, which can feel everything in a car.”

Assetto Corsa with CM - latest CSP preview & Pure

BeamNG.drive

Dirt Rally 2.0

Spintires with some great community mods

Richard Burns Rally with a Rally sim fans modpack

The last two have some of the most amazing physics ever made, and considering they are the oldest of the bunch, we probably won't see anything like it again. Spintires with its incredible environment reacting on your every move, RBR with its insane car physics, also improved by the great RSF community.
AC has not so good FFB, but it is a decent game considering CM and all of its bells&whistles. Base game sucks donkey balls.
BeamNG I like very much, and I do like sandbox games in general, but looking at it, together with Automation, both games are in EA for a decade, yeah... Crashing vehicles is really fun though, and the collision physics are superb.
DR 2.0 has some of the most annoying always online BS I've ever saw. If you can live with it, might probably be the last decent modern (good looking) rally game. The OG Dirt Rally is the next on the test list, but i kinda got bored already so, eventually. People say it's great in VR unlike the sequel.
And yes, I suck at taking screenshots, because they're the last thing on my mind when I'm really into playing. And when I take them just for the sake of sharing, they end up being far from good, and it's the case with at least half of these.

Oooh, Spintires had a physical release and can be had cheap (Warning on the box makes it look like alternate way to buy a Steam code). MR was so good that when I figured out SR was never going to be that I probably forget to check this out.
