I saw a LiPo based UPS - I would think that it would work pretty well. It was very expensive though.

They look sturdy enough also considering the price of plastic AF rudder pedals price is decent in relative terms. Use them with a game controller and let us know how that combination is. By us I mean me. I would think they would make regular game controller feel even better and work nicely together. That combination would awesome in Starblast. Some people have some ace skills in that game.

I just fly DCS and some War Thunder sim on the side, man  I'm not nearly courageous enough to play DCS with my Xbox controller (though some people actually are)

It's a good pairing with my VKB Gunfighter Mk.3 and WW Orion throttle, very precise. But gonna take me a few days to un-learn the bad muscle memory of stick twist rudder

After waiting what seems like forever to grab a 4090 (Pretty much locked into buying from BestBuy due to getting 1000 usd off a 4080/4090) I finally got one. I really wanted an FE but got tired of waiting not because I think its better than this one but I like the smaller size. It was very tempting to grab a 4080 FE for 200 usd + tax out of pocket but man that sweet 4k performance of the 4090 kept telling me no.

It's a pretty boring card aesthetically but I will upload physical pictures compared to my 3080ti when I receive it. The Strix 2080ti in my secondary PC had a good run but it can finally retire.

GPU 9000.png

I do feel like it's karma that I ended up with a gigabyte card never been too high on them and hate GB CS but I couldn't justify an extra 200 usd for an Asus Tuf card that performs the same.
I've had good luck with Nvidia gpus never dying so hopefully this continues that trend.

As a bonus this rolled in a while back I didn't upload it because I felt like it was kind of pointless till I got a 40 series card.
On first impression I'm impressed that it isn't a bulky cable considering it has 4 8 pins attached to it

It's a cablemod cable btw

I bought my first ever flight stick, I can't stand the controls in Star Wars Squadrons, so I got me a $30 Logi flight stick, its the best selling one and so far I like it. Has native support for Squadrons and several other games, so I don't have to tinker with assigning buttons, which is great.

From GC that I got from Xmas/my birthday, I typically get 5-800 for my Bday and around 1k for Xmas. I typically just save them to help with hardware upgrades or when I need a new TV etc.... I also ask for gift cards when I build PCs for people or fix their broken towers but in these cases I almost never specify an amount and just let them decide what it was worth because that is more of a hobby for me. In the past that allowed me to do new builds pretty frequently but with how much HW prices have increased It might be a while before I switch to a DDR5 platform.

I technically had enough after last Xmas to get the card for free but I also wanted an LG G2 during the early December sales so it is what it is....

I waited almost 2 years for a deal like this. Best tech deal I've gotten in 10 years.
Dell 3080's are built like a tank and don't get hot with a good fan curve, undervolt, and the "thermal paste around the vram cooling plate" trick.
Gaming temperature around 70c max core, 88c max vram at 912mv @ 1875mhz.
These are still widely available for $500.

Another recent purchase, a bigger UPS. The previous one was enough for my config, but since upgrading the GPU it's not quite up to the task. I've been testing a lot of games uncapped, and had to power my main rig directly from the mains while doing so, meaning it was time for a replacement. This one has a two-step boost & buck AVR, a dual 2.4 A smart USB charger, and a handy LCD that lets you quickly approximate the current power consumption. It is completely silent with up to 500 W tested loads, as the built-in fan works semi-passively:

I really need to get me a good UPS before summer hits. I been meaning to for a long time now, I just don't know which one to get, so many options. I expect about 5 power outages this summer, maybe more. My area has been expanding fast, and historically we get a few outages every summer. For some reason we never get outages in winter.

That is most likely the cause yeah. I think all the warehouses are running at peak production then too, and I live next to a bunch of them.

Have that same flight stick. I spring is far too stiff for my liking, but otherwise it's alright enough.

Me either, but side from the spring being a bit too heavy it's otherwise a pretty nice stick. The price on that stick is also surprisingly low as well and pricing hasn't seemed to change much on that in few years since I picked one up myself. Bargain price for a overall decent quality stick I'd say.
I like the type of fans Asus uses with the blades all connected. They look more rugged and like they would work well. They have nice aesthetic to them as well. That fan orientation is great s well it's a pity case fans don't come in packs of 2 to 3 with that inverted blade structure that should help reduce turbulence and cycle airflow a bit with the fan blade orientation so it's perplexing that they don't.

The backlighting died in one of my workstation monitors. At first it appeared the issue was the LED driver board (a cheap fix, DIY for less than $20) but after troubleshooting I discovered the backlight array is dead. None of the places that carry parts for that monitor have them in stock (one hasn't had any for over a year) so I bought a new Vizio 43" MQ6 series 4K QLED M43Q6M-K04 yesterday at Best Buy while my better half was buying a new microwave oven. QLED, Dolby Vision, HDR10 & HDR10+. I'll set it up tomorrow night when I have the time to do it.

I also plan to totally regut the dead monitor if the parts finally become available. One place has a complete repair kit with the LED's and 4 boards for $69 but the LED's and one board is out of stock.

are you going to grab a 4090 HOF once it's available locally? it would look hotttt with that mobo.

Hey buddy,

Yeah, I'll check it out. Prices are starting to mellow a bit here (down under) and I'm looking into either a 4080 or 90 hopefully into the not-too-distant future. I've never purchased a white GPU yet.. ;)

Have been thinking about white or silver/black. The MSI Ventus has caught my eye. Can't find a review of one though. Apparently, they are one of the smaller cards as well. Also, the Zotac's could be on my hit list.

Potentiometers to further calibrate brand new analog sticks that still drifted.

This is NOT a fix for badly worn out analog sticks, you will still need to replace those entirely.

Not really high tech but a brought a new retro styled refrigerator for my kitchen my old refrigerator was 15years or so.

It was priced at £534 / 638USD but I the priced cut down to £483 / 510USD on top of that I got free delivery to my door so I don't complain other than it got 4 dings doing shipping trying to work that out :)

It comes with 5years warranty so that's not bad :)

You shouldn't keep anything at the top of the fridge as it will cause condensation to happen.

Never been an issue because I use the microwave less than once a month plus it’s an old one
