alright, pricey phone equal ...

CRAPPY protection....
yeah, this is what happens when a company put more money in packaging development than the product itself ...
Black Rock 20chf (way too fudging expensive for what it is ... sent it back as soon as i saw the thing (luckily it was not sealed or plastic wrapped)

yep ... definitely not carbon ... pfeh! but a fabric pull tab is ... well, lets say it's the nicest thing about it .... (plus the ultra thin still make the camera stand out and would keep the phone wobbly )

"don't be sorry ... be BETTER!"
oh well 55chf later (rather 35chf since i got a refund ofc).... UAG Monarch Carbon ... real carbon this time ... (drat i wanted the Monarch Kevlar but no one has it in stock for the S23 Vanilla, only S23 Ultra )

yeah that one look extra nice, a bit chunky but not too much, with Gorilla Glass Victus 2 and that ... it's almost a Galaxy S23 Xcover Pro (the screen side has almost 2mm height above it, same for the camera side )

Will it stop a bullet? If so, what's the max caliber?

well the Kevlar would be better for that ... i experienced multiple .22 LR impact when i was an Embassy guard during my army duty ... thanks to a Kevlar Flakjack... (traumatic story... no more detail sorry... :p )

but i guess the UAG plus the phone would stop quite a lot of caliber https://www.digitaltrends.com/mobile/7-phones-that-stopped-bullets/

hilarious ... when i showed the case to my coworker ... i did talk about the .22 LR anecdote :D

i wouldn't count on the Black Rock to stop a frozen ground beef bullet ... although the phone in it would likely stop it ;)

That's a nice one!

havent seen a cd player since before my kids was born, they grown up now. :)
I have 4 CD players in my home, and they're used on a regular basis...

On THAT note, I just got two new CD's!
Icehouse Man Of Colours & Avril Lavigne Goodbye Lullaby
Icehouse&AvrilCDs.jpg

And a set of great games for GameBoy Advance!
GBAGames.jpg

I'm pretty sure that Zelda Collection is not legit, just sayin. It includes the GBA versions of Minish Cap,Link To the Past+FourSwords, LOZ1, LOZ2 and the Gameboy Color versions of Links AwakeningDX and both Oracles games... Keeping it as it works perfectly. The Metroid Zero Mission also might be iffy as the game locks up for a moment every time I save. Plays normally otherwise. I don't remember it doing that BITD, but I'm not sure. Sword Of Mana is fully legit though. The only GBA games I really want now is FF4, FF5, FF6 and FF Origins.

Also got one of these;
WTF-USBDriveEnclosure.jpg

I ordered a SATA USB 3.0 Enclosure. Got THAT! Total garbage! It's not even USB 3.0. The plugs are just colored USB3 blue. Fake crap on every level. Funny as hell!

Mate ive got a bunch of CDs and cassettes/VHS.... all neatly crammed together on a large shelf. At a distance makes for a sweet wallpaper. Haven't used any in donkey years. I'm actually sad over the years we got rid of our tape-players... had a nice HI-FI system from the 80s passed down from our father/grand-father. I dont even know where it went. I'm so sick of "over-grown RGB"... i could easily see myself adding the old tape players to our modern tech hardware show-piece collage/collection

Had to cancel the previous mobo cause' of stuff up with vendors inventory listings... ordered the exact same one again from another vendor but with no WiFi ( not that I needed it but it's nice to have just in case) . On paper this Gigabyte board has the best VRM in it's price range & that's a price range reduced by $125 from normal pricing!

Got my K7 DAC today - quite a bit bigger than I thought it would be. The Df is not a small camera compared to any modern mirrorless body......

And here it is compared to the outgoing E10K...

@Super Firm Tofu and other 13900k owners. this new ram shows tangible benefits in fps gained. if I had Intel, i'd prob get this ram. its one of the few benefits of Intel, being able to have top tier ram. fps gains are real, not a huge deal, but still gains are gains.

So it came with stickers?.... :D
For the keys ? :D

That black Df looks so sweet.

Discounted for missing the CTRL keys.
This is my all time favorite keyboard. However....
It is a pain to get used to Ctrl in different place, no del key, backspace in wrong place too, no windows key or arrow keys.
A lot of the above can do with Fn. but it's not the same.
As far as type feel I love it because how my brain is wired I idolized this keyboard for 15 years :D But If I did a honest review I'll take jwick heavy lianer switches over topre any day, because it's just a fancy rubber dome keyboard.

@Super Firm Tofu and other 13900k owners. this new ram shows tangible benefits in fps gained. if I had Intel, i'd prob get this ram. its one of the few benefits of Intel, being able to have top tier ram. fps gains are real, not a huge deal, but still gains are gains.

The black looks kinda nice.
