What's your latest tech purchase?

That's one I looked at, the XTAR has USB-C and the LED is built in instead of an optional accessory

Eneloop 101 has an amazing list of the chargers, which is how i found out mine was a dumb charger

I have a Duracell charger that is pretty similar to the one you marked "trashy old one". It works for me, as I use batteries in pairs anyway. :)

It's the slow dumb charging and requirement of being in pairs thats the issue - use a device that runs off 3 batteries for example, and you're screwed, a minimum of two batteries will end up being charged with different starting voltages, so one will get a lot more wear and tear

And with the whole 10-15 hour trickle charge thing, it's guaranteed that some will be overcharged

Summary:
  • It's one of the fastest IPS display panels out there period
  • It's roughly 2nd-3rd place in input latency
  • Zero overshoot below 90Hz, vs the 240Hz samsungs having insane 30-45% overshoot
  • 2x DP 1.4, 2x full 48Gb/s HDMI 2.1 ports
  • Quality BFI method (black frame insertion) - you can use this for zero ghosting/smearing and get super clear images, but it requires a PC that can maintain solid frame rates
  • Gsync is 60-144Hz, LFC makes that work just fine

A 4K 144Hz keeping up with 165Hz QHD's is impressive, l;et along beating them

Philips 32M1N5800A is towards the top end of our chart. Importantly, it's decently faster than some of its key rivals, including the Corsair 32UHD144, the ASUS PG32UQ and the MSI MPG321UR-QD.

I kid you not, for 8 years I thought Advanced label referred to the Eneloops being technologically advanced batteries :D in Canada I have not seen white ones bundled with anything other than CC17.

I might replace my white (Gen4?) Eneloops soon. They still perform mighty fine, it's just that they were small compared to the (Gen3?) Pros even when new, so now being so old they hold about 1/3 to 1/2 the capacity of the Pros.

Been looking at those 40-55" 120Hz TVs again and 43" 16:9 gaming monitors......man the price just don't come down

This is the one I have. It's getting so I'll need another one. My Xbox controller, Headlamp, and Steel Series mouse demand I feed them. The headlamp and mouse suck the AAAs dry too quickly. The headlamp takes 3, the mouse 2, so 4 at a time is not ideal. The mouse can last 100s of hours if I put it on the lowest power mode, but it's annoying to use here in the living room like that. I'd rather change out batteries every week or so using the power gulping mode.

Just received my new day driver, haven't had android since my OnePlus 6T but I am tired of paying a £1000+ for a iPhone so gonna try the Samsung experience with the Galaxy S23 :fear:IMG_0116.jpg IMG_0117.jpg IMG_0118.jpg

I feel like smartphone package gets smaller and smaller every time I buy a new phone, I had my iPhone 12 Pro Max for almost 3yrs already time flys

Welcome to the S23 club... :D
Thanks also just registered my google account, plus if I sign up before next month to be a Samsung member I can get free pair of Galaxy buds 2 for free which is a nice added bonus ;)

So, so many variants - i've seen at least three types of white ones, two regular black ones, and then the black pro

S22 ultra owner here, your S23 is a young whipper snapper and needs to get off my lawn

I'd rather have more of a 34" UWQHD with that same HDMI 2.1 input. I think a 3840 x 1080 with HDMI 2.1 wouldn't be bad either or 3840 x 1200 since it's a bit more practical with bit higher vertical height. I wonder if IPS will get down to 1 to 2ms G-T-G over time in another 5-10 years or be phased out entirely by that point. Is there a way to leverage PAM4 signaling to lower the G-T-G response times on IPS is something that comes to mind with me. If it can be done that's about 1/4 the G-T-G and certainly puts in in much closer range of OLED.

I think I'll take credit here for coaxing you to the dark side?? ;) Definitely a way better choice than S22.

My 4070 Ti left the Amazon facility in Rockford Il today.. I ordered it on Weds. and it wont be here until Weds.. still says 2 day shipping

Must be busy

If Amazon is busy then they are worldlwide. I ordered a external SSD and that item is announced to hit me on next Wed. I ordered on Friday. I guess that they differ between Prime or not by selecting the sending date. ;)

I am a Prime member though. Normally it’s two day shipping, sometimes I get it the next day :D

No big deal though.. was hoping to play with it this weekend :D

They've really slowed down on the shipping around here. Lots of tech stuff is at least a week to ship even with Prime. Also, I think the Prime Day thing slowed it down even more. I bought two NVMe drives that were supposed to be here yesterday. They didn't even ship until 10:00pm last night and show no tracking movement since. 1st world problems, I know.

(how am i supposed to sneak install 2 new drives in while my wife is away this weekend when they won't be here til next week??)

I'll have to remember that one. She actually knows about these. When she saw it was Prime Day the first question to me was "What are you buying this time?". I could not tell a lie.

I wait for her to buy a bunch of stuff, and then I lay out a big purchase.. it evens out.. and keeps me home :D

HATER club...! --- oh wait ...

oh, well, same recommendation as for @P4-630 get a good case for it! preferably something from UAG like a Monarch or a Pathfinder, can even get a Magsafe compatible one like the Monarch Pro and use Apple magsafe accessories (or compatibles )

i guess i still hate Samsung accessories ... :D

I had some problems with adding mine as well. But got it straightened out with a quick call to the bank. Usually verification is quick through my mobile banking app, but I think I registered too many "new" cards when I was flashing my Pixel 7a every day lol

Is Samsung Pay an option for your bank?

UAG is so over the top honestly, maybe if they weren't so friggin expensive.

In the time I've had my S23 I've had probably 6 or 7 cases and returned most of them. 2 Commuters, 2 Incipios, a Spigen, and the free Samsung grip case. In the end I only kept the Samsung case and a $9 beige JETech case that both have by far the most perfect fitment and build quality amongst all of them. Sad that the more you pay, the shittier the case
