I would put it beside the monitors but they only had short DisplayPort cables.

Yeah no it was me, I have it sorted as a US international KB and I have all the keys for that, yay except I am in the UK, and I did order UK iso just got the caps VERY Wrong.

You may find enclosures don't support TRIM especially older ones. This one Supports TRIM. I verified with my 180GB Intel SSD.

You may find enclosures don't support TRIM especially older ones. This one Supports TRIM. I verified with my 180GB Intel SSD.

Nice in my experience Orico makes solid products they might feel plastic but they keep on working I have a USB 3.0 docking and 2x3.5 hdd cases they are really old by now but they just keeps working without any issues.

After testing, I plan on removing the heatshields and installing BartX copper shields, BX2 water block. https://bartxstore.com/shop/custom-ram-copper-heatsinks-for-ddr5-ddr4/

I have never used RGB modules with the custom copper heatsinks, because the LED lights on the backside of the module short-out, and kill the RAM kit on start-up.

Generally I always buy non-RGB kits due to the shorting issue. So going to use side cutters/dikes, and snip off the LED lights flush with PCB and cover with 0.5mm thermal pad.

I agree, will be testing with the OEM stock heat shields, active cooling using 140mm fan first,.. see how temps are.

Most likely will be just fine at 8200 1.4V XMP,.. but I will be running 8400, 8600MT/s. Bumping up the voltage/frequency on the 24GB modules will introduce lot's of heat vs the 16GB modules.

My 2x16GB kit is fine with just the copper heat shields and the 140mm fan,.. haven't needed the water block.

I'm surprised they aren't making 2x12GB kits to be honest. I can see where eventually 24GB could be a bit limiting with higher end build exceptions, but I still think it would satisfy most for a good while without being overboard. It wouldn't be a whole lot cheaper than 2x32GB though and you'd have more concerns around future proofing of general expectations. The flip side of it is you could have higher binned kits at similar price of 2x32GB kits. On a budget I think they could make sense.

I use a heat-gun, plastic tools,.. very light prying only. the process takes under one min, generally 30 seconds per side,..

I've pulled the heat shields from over three dozen kits with no issues.

I don't see a big difference really with that and something like 2x24 or 2x48 kits in relation to 2x32 or 2x64 kits. It's just binning considerations relative to capacity. I mean it is a bit of a meh option, but no more than 2x8GB or 2x16GB is with DDR4 that was recommended for a very long period of time to people on a budget build. I get what you're saying yet I'm still surprised it's not a option.

The other options I'd say are similarly meh just scaled a little differently so a bit wider price gap. It requires fewer higher quality binned chips in total though so it kind of balances out. You still have basic PCB design costs to contend with though it's also easier on IMC in the first place with lower capacity kits. I think there are plenty of instances where it could be preferable at similar price and instances where the capacity makes more sense.
