i am impressed with J5create brand, cheap and reliable so far ... i have a wall charger and a "Whormhole" USB A to A cable (which act as a transfer/KVM cable)

also a 2.5g USB-C adapter, nice!
Sadly it appears to have one of the old "buggy" or rather poorly performing Realtek chips in it. Contacted their support, let's see what happens, otherwise I will be returning it, as I don't even get Gigabit upload speeds.

Does it still work? I had my PS2 (previously working) in a box for 8 years, sadly a few weeks ago I found out it won't read disks anymore.
i had this PS1 working around new year. but i found all the other stuff today (controllers and a handful of games). I have no TV to plug it in :/

With the price of DRAM falling, I decided to go a little faster with some Hynix A-Die.

Unfortunately, 7000 MT/s seems to be the limit of my low-end Z790 board and/or CPU combo without moving into voltage levels I'd not feel safe with. Oh well. It's an improvement over what I was running before. :rockout:

Got a similar kit, but 6000 MHz CL30-36-36-76 for my Ryzen 7 7800X3D build. Only low profile modules that appear to have decent availability and speeds.

Trying out the Alienware 720M wireless mouse out.
Initial impression so far, the mouse is slightly lighter and narrower compared to the intellimouse.
I prefer weighted mouse than lightweight, so the weight is just about Ok to use when it's wireless and when it's wired it feels similar to the intellimouse.
Alien command center is garbage as always, the software keeps notifying me that the mouse has a new firmware, even though I've already updated it.
They have also removed fan control for the GPUs it seems as well.

Does this mouse work without it?
It does work without it, but I have it installed because the fan profile is controlled by the command center different performance modes on the X16.
There is a third-party app i'm aware of that is apparently better but I haven't had any issues with the command center so far.

GT, GT2, NFS Porsche, Driver 2, CMR - one of the best of that time, and they bring so many memories. I still have those along with a gray box. Controllers are wasted though. Might try to find them before they become too expensive "retro" stuff.

After (too) much internal debate I decided my current cpu cooler and satisfaction with overall case airflow outweighed a small drop in timings. 4x8GB should resolve experiencing some typical signs of low memory on games with large maps.

Memory finally showed up today. System managed pagefile was over 16GB and probably thrashing my NVMe/SATA SSD in the past.

Short amount of gameplay definitely seemed smoother without absolutely eating into RAM usage. 32GB might not seem like such overkill after I buy a few recognized memory heavy games off my wishlist.

This is perfect reason to NOT allow Windows to manage the pagefile. With the 32GB you've installed, you can very safely set the pagefile to a set min/max of 6144MB(6GB) and forget it.

I thought this place was devoted to enthusiast pursuits riding the very edge of what's likely to remain stable. :D

Set it at Windows recommended size of 4GB and doubt it will ever be touched again.

page file only ever expands to what's needed - you'll either get hard crashes 'out of memory' or have windows automatically expand it, if it's too small

hiberfile is the space eater that matches your RAM size

Sadly it appears to have one of the old "buggy" or rather poorly performing Realtek chips in it. Contacted their support, let's see what happens, otherwise I will be returning it, as I don't even get Gigabit upload speeds.
Ended up sending it back based on the feedback from their support team.

I would say I have an average size hand but quite thin which is down to my physique(5ft7 and 136lbs) and it feels alright to hold.
Sometimes i alternate my clicking between palm and claw, I even did that on the intellimouse aswell.
The DPI can go from 100-26000.
