What's your latest tech purchase?

I do recall getting an older model Razer Black Shark, only because it looked bada$$ (like the old pilot type headset) be the sound was a terrible mess, bloated (and I do mean BLOATED) bass killing off the mids so details are masked, not much by way of treble as well.
It killing off the mids = dealbreaker! That would sound like the poopiest cassette player!

So I am building a Dark Knight themed rig for myself atm. Im farming out some of the work (custom 3d printed fan grilles, DK decals and this...) came in the mail today! Turned out sweet. Just need to prime and paint black to match the case. It will sit floating from the case side with leds underneath (3 in white). Ill post the build at some point.

Batknife!!

Ya. More than what she needs. In the perfect world I was hoping for a ryzen 7 7840U or 7735U, and actual dimm slots (not soldered) with a decent screen, and ditch the dedicated graphics and save some extra $$, alas good luck finding something like that and at a decent price.

The model I had listed is slightly different that the review. One I was looking at had 2x8gb ram (slots at least) and a 16:10 screen.

Mounted the bat... LEDs in place, they just aren't bright enough :( .

So I put in an LED strip and it turned out pretty damn nice. Its a bit dirty from the process, but Ill clean that up when its time to shoot real photos of it. Im still waiting on my fan grilles which are being printed this weekend I hope.

A sensible person, when having a spare 10700K lying around, would eBay it for a still-decent chunk of change. I am clearly not sensible:

@80-watt Hamster just a friendly reminder that sn770 magic only works in windows, will still be a ok linux drive, but the firmware built into the sn770 tha tmakes it insanely snappy to use only gets auto utilized in windows. I love my sn770. It's crazy how snappy it feels. Also i love the colors on that motherboard.

I disagree. Putting together a spare system is always a good thing. Very sensible.

Perhaps, though my wallet would be somewhere around $300 heavier I'd gone the other route.

Didn't know that, but fortunately for me the 770 will indeed house a Windows install. And yeah, the Torpedo's a right handsome devil to be sure. Know the driving factor in the choice of it, though? The integrated I/O plate. As the MB was open box, that way I make certain to get one.

Everytime I see someone here posting a new case or complete build, I dream of when I'll finally get to rebuild. Just don't have the cash to do so anytime soon, not with how much GPUs are costing.
However, I do eye the Lancool 216 as the case for it, man does it makes my eyes shine.

My old sys was a 3770k. i've lived in agony for over a decade.

That's (along with the price) what stops my daydreams every time. My rig may not be state-of-the-art but there ain't nothing it can't run yet.

Picked up a 2.5" and 3.5" docking station for cloning and running EXT HDs

Also picked up a M.2 enclosure as i'm seeing myself removing smaller capacity NVME SSDs more often for larger capacity (which is super affordable nowadays) replacements.

....and a PSU to repurpose a low-powered build. I didn't bother with reviews on the selected unit and just trusted buyer feedback.

I bought a bunch of Arctc p12 fans, they were on sale for 1.50 each. Brand new and pwm pst variant which means i cna daisy chain them (i think)

I have no idea why i bought them for, just such a good price i couldn't pass on it. Good to have backups i guess.

I bought a couple of Yo-Yo's for my boys, and another NVMe adapter for moi..

Got a 2tb Western Digital sn770 ssd, Samsung G5 Odyssey 27" 1440p 144hz, and a Gigabyte UD750GM. Load times have decreased, fps and resolution have increased, and I'm finally free of ketchup and mustard cables.

i saw a 34" 3440x1440 ultrawide yesterday in person, OLED samsung g8 variant, was impressive, but I don't know if it was just my imagination or what, but the vertical space seemed shorter on this monitor than my 27" 1440p, am I just imagining things? I was so confused by this, it almost felt like my 27" 1440p at home was bigger, just not wider. it def seemed the vertical space was more...

anyways yeah, I am waiting on LG 32" 4k 240hz OLED screens next year, that will be my stop, but... can anyone confirm was it just my imagination that the vertical space is bigger on my 27"?

A HP Victus gaming laptop to complement my gaming rig! I sold off my old Surface Laptop 4 and managed to get this for half-price (~$1200AUD). It plays all of my Souls games (plus some other games) at 60fps in 1080p native with everything set to high! The only game that took a bit of tweaking was Elden Ring.

I'm looking forward to seeing what else I can play with FSR as well.

The height is the same. What you see is an optical illusion.

Just bought this, NFS Unbound here i come.
it's an amazing controller, very tactile and mechanical.
My brother got one used for really good price, new is bit expensive.
He bought an xbox one for ₹6,000 which he sold for 8k with normal xbox one controller iirc
not only he made a good profit but got to keep an awesome controller

got this samsung tablet from my brother last night (he got it from the company he works for), it's the latest flagship grade one with snapdragon 8 gen 2, display is amazing and performance too.
