What's your latest tech purchase?

Picked up the Beelink Mini S12. 12th gen N100 - 4C/4T, 16GB DDR4 3200, and a 500GB nVME for $159.

I bought the SSD a few months back. Slipped right in and up and running with 4500GB of storage. :slap:

the n100 is pretty impressive for basic usage, my Dad loves his minipc. I use my Dads PC with the n100 sometimes it impresses me honestly, I mean we don't do much, just YouTube and such but it's snappy as heck, I did a clean install of Win 11 on his and it hasn't given us any issues at all, and since the OS key is in the mobo BIOS, it just makes clean installs all that much easier, no having to enter a key, another benefit of this form factor that most don't realize.

on topic: don't own it yet, but I already decided when my tax check refund comes next March or so, I am going to get the LG C4 42" OLED on launch day, I decided that is the form factor I want for movies/shows (im going to game in windowed 1440p mode cause i want high fps and the infinite black of OLED will make it not feel too wierd being in windowed mode with a black background) and not 32" 4k 240hz... my desk is massive, and the 42" is just going to suit me better. I take good care of my stuff, so I see the C4 42" lasting me a solid 10 years with no loss in quality.

I really do want one of those which would sit nicely hidden away under our TV or even on a VESA mount. Having a gaming PC next to the TV just for streaming isn't ideal and it's needed somewhere else :)
Fortunately I found a Beelink supplier locally and they have some nice Ryzen based ones.
Enjoy your Beelink!

Got 3DMark Advanced @ Steam, it's discounted up to november the 30st for € 8,49. It's an ideal tool for checking effects of tweaking your settings.

Also a new PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD as a bootdisk, a Kingston KC3000 1024GB, to replace my old trusted Kingston A2000 500GB.

Because lately I have weird spontaneous restarts form my pc with frequently d6 code on the hex debug display on my mainboard I suspect there is something wrong with my riser cable, so a new riser cable.

Hopefully this resolves the problem, otherwise I have to do some more troubleshooting.

Phanteks Eclipse G300A - got tired of looking at my girlfriend's ancient beat up Antec P1. The Phanteks is a solid case for $50, less if I get the rebate. Would have preferred to pay another $10-15 to get it with more than one pre-installed fan, but I have a ton of 120mm fans laying around, so this is just laziness on my part.

Installed 2 front and 2 top fans, plus the rear it came with. Will probably add a third front at some point, just couldn't find a 3 way power splitter when I was putting it together last night. This replaces an Intel Z270 setup (don't remember the exact CPU right now) -

Ryzen 5 3600 CPU
Thermalright Peerless Assassin HSF (new)
ASUS TUF Gaming X570-Plus WiFi ATX motherboard (new)
32GB DDR4 (slow, will replace it with 3600 when my other kit gets back from RMA)
500GB Samsung 850 SATA SSD
4TB WD HDD
2x1TB Intel 670p NVME SSDs
Zotac GeForce RTX 2080
Rosewill Capstone 1000w modular PSU

It's quiet and runs very cool.

Seriously considering putting my build in this case for better cooling (just swap the CPU, GPU, and drives - they're both X570 boards with two NVMe slots) but her HDD won't fit in the A4-H20 case. I may just put it in an enclosure.

Also picked up a Thermalright 240mm AIO - have to decide if I'm using it in the ITX case to replace the current AIO or swapping things around... If I do the latter I'll return it for a 360mm version.

I'm quite impressed with it so far. Size, build quality (especially for the money), and while it didn't mention it, that it came with Win 11 Pro installed - I had assumed it would be a bring your own OS.

The plans I have for the little thing didn't require much CPU/ power so I went with the less expensive Intel option over the Ryzens.

Once I run it for a few days, I'm going to set it up next to my router and put a copy of photos and music from over the years and get it backed up into the cloud with Backblaze or something similar. I'll be able to RDP into it for control so it can sit there without a monitor, keyboard, or mouse.

Got some of the Corsair RAM about here somewhere, same goes for the 7900 card, gotta get my act together and get things put together... Got two Intel systems I'd like to get up and running and another two upstairs in the loft... Almost forgot too, I've two AMD systems I'd like to get up and running too.. Dang it......

Damn this being a grown up and having to buy sensible things like food and houses...

Six month old Motorola MB8611 moden $50 like new off Facebook Marketplace yesterday. EVGA GTX 1080 Hybrid $70 local Craigslist a couple of weeks ago.

Bought a cheap laptop to learn and use linux. 7520u, 8GB RAM with linux mint cinnamon.

Mint Cinnamon is a good choice, imo. When I use Linux, that's my chosen distro.
only issue was i have to use the edge build. the normal one is too old for mendocino and had tons of problems (no network, no sound, stuttering and crashing)

edge with the latest kernel runs very well.

A Crosshair VII Hero (Wi-Fi) for $90

My recent purchases go along with previous recent purchases. Running low on CDR's, got some Memorex brand as they have been very reliable!
MemorexCDRs-01.jpg

MemorexCDRs-02.jpg

Also got some DVDRs.

Then an SD Card reader as one of my spares died.

Also got a pair of WiiU Pro type controllers.

Got some thumbstick extenders too!

AsRock phantom gaming z490/ac+G5900 +9 months left over warranty to the shop. Will be looking for another CPU.

Intel rly need to scale down on packaging :D that drive is like ~30EUR and it has a box in a box and a huge plastic case...I mean can't they pack it like a flash drive or somethin :)

Yeah I bought a QLC drive....in 2023.....say what now?! You fluffing WOT M8??!? NANI?!?

My latest build.

Sunk quite a lot of money on this one - some might say too much, but it's a beauty and it's fast, so it's worth it! Plus, I built it myself, so that's that.

Built it back in September. It had a few hiccups recently due to bad configuration of RAM, but I've reinstalled the OS and it's fine now.

No speakers?

It's Bluetooth everything, so it has all the speakers and no speakers, if you know my meaning...

Also, I don't use them. I use headphones 99% of the time.

Also, that keyboard and mouse combo deserve a special mention. Asus KW100/MD100. The keyboard is 3-way Bluetooth switchable - I use it for my build, laptop and phone. Mouse has a dongle AND Bluetooth, so dongle goes to laptop, Bluetooth goes to the computer.

I can basically use the laptop and computer without having to switch my keyboard and mouse at all.

Yep that's the one :)
For me personally, $60 is WAY too much for a game. I guess I'm stuck as a kid in the 90s, when CDs used to cost $10-15...
