My board is the Asus X670E-E Strix and according to the manual I have 3 5.0 slots and room for 1 more using an adapter card.

Nice board. Same case as mine. Hows your layout for your loop?

The pump res is on one side of the side rad and the CPU fans are on the other side of the rad. I took the 3 front fans and used them on my 420 from my old Alphacool Eisbaer up top with some Phanteks SK140s above them. To compensate for the air being pulled by the side fans I used all 140mm (2 SK 140s) in the front and even got a Noctua 3000 RPM in the middle of the front to really bring the air in and all run at 35% base. The rear 140 runs at 50%. The only thing that has been a pain recently is Games that apply shaders have the CPU run at 100% while doing that and the noise that can make is crazy (Noctua fan header is connected to CPU). I have been looking at the Core 1 from Alphaocol but I am currently using an AIO (Thermaltake Prism)as I put the 240 Aqua Elite on my 5950x system and was impressed. There is one thing that I love about Alphacool and it is their Quick connect tubing and fittings. It makes Water cooling a breeze. I have gone from Vega 64 to 6800XT and now 7900XT on Water without having to disassemble the whole loop. I even had a block for my TR4 chip back in the day. I started with the Eisstation but now have the Corsair pump/res. They may not look pretty but my PC sits on the floor and Phanteks has the best iteration of lighting in their fans next to some of Corsair's better offerings so I am good for bling but I use their rads almost exclusively now for the convenience and lack of shipping costs associated with living in Canada and being into Water cooling. I am so glad that I found Groovesland. The only caveat is they use DHL and they are a den of theives that have costs that other mail carriers don't seem to have or the Govt likes to apply a surtax even though you can't buy it in Canada.

I actually just got a Alphacool core 1.

I am using a AC OCTO for my fan control, have a high flow next for one water temp reading and flow rate. Have another water temp on one of the EK XE fittings.

This is my layout-

How are your temps on your CPU? Is that Core 1 that good?

I think it is yes. Considering this is supposed to be a hot CPU, my temps are pretty good, better than the HK IV i had previously. After reading the TPU it made my mind up to get it, wasn't cheap mind £119 iirc

I have my 500gb nvme partitioned, with win 10 and win 11. If one goes tits up, i just boot the working one till i can be arsed to fix the other.
Yeah, but in case of a hardware failure, you lose both partitions.

Got a 2TB p44 Pro nvme drive, going to sell my my 3 other storage drives to help recoup the cost for it I think, i only game so no sensitive information, plus the only reason I did this was I wanted to consolidate into 1 drive instead of having many, just want to keep things simple.

i also got a new lord of the rings 2024 tolkien calendar, its beautiful art.

I do two partitions. One for Temp type files & folders(at about 8GB or 10GB) and the other for the main OS install(taking up the rest of the space). All other drives are isolated from the main drive.

Got a 4 pack of these for $1.36 AUD, didn't realise I had so many Samsung points on the AU EDU store after buying my S23U, and you can use them to cover 99% of a purchase, so had to pay the difference on an already discounted price of ~$134 for a 4 pack.

Two on (in) my e-scooters already, and about to go on a short holiday so I spose two in our suitcases for the time being. Genuinely need to find more things to track... I don't really lose my keys and wallet, so any other long term suggestions?

Well colour me impressed. Today is Tuesday right? I just ordered this yesterday morning. I will most likely install this after picking up my daughter today. View attachment 319831
So I installed the drive after I picked up my Daughter. MY OS drive was a Seagate 530 2TB, I booted into Windows and loaded up Seagate Disk Wizard. I cloned the 530 to the MP700 and let the program handle the partition and boot transfer. It took about 4-6 minutes to complete. I restarted my PC and went into Disk Mgmt and formatted the 530. I will have to use Disk Cleaner to remove the recovery file on the drive but the MP700 is now my OS drive.

Performance: My MB has a very beefy M2 heatsink with a heatpipe. I see between 55 and 58 c as my temps but there is no change in HWinfo (it is a drive) so i guess the card is that hot. Windows does not feel any faster in loading but things like HWinfo64 load faster. Loading the Internet is also faster. I have only played one Game so far and that is FM8. In that Game this drive loads every screen faster. Since the last update, every time I load that Game it has to optimize shaders. Though it still takes time it certainly feels faster and getting into different menus and loading races is definitely faster. I am going to move TWWH3 onto it and see what difference it makes there.

Verdict: It is not the end of day one but I know that my PC is faster with this drive than it was before(WOW). The heat can be an issue but I already have a WD AN1500 and that also runs in the 50+ c range so it is expected and my case has good airflow. When I wake up tomorrow I will move Forspoken around and see if that Game also benefits. The price is meh but the performance is worth it. I will see what Black Friday has for deals. There is already pressure on the 2TB (Ranges in price by $60 across shops) so we will see where it goes.

it might not be a neat beast like my Xiro Xplorer i owned previously, but still a great little thing ... specially at 40chf (50% discount )

Picked up a pair of these 10 Gbps network cards for the equivalent of $54 a piece, should arrive next week.
Not a fan of TP-Link routers, bit this should hopefully be the same as all the other Aquantia based cards.

For me personally, $60 is WAY too much for a game. I guess I'm stuck as a kid in the 90s, when CDs used to cost $10-15...
Haha yeah I always get them after they drop down after release. Can’t believe the star field premium normally is $100. It came with my 7800 XT and man, just a bleh game. So over hyped. I would have been extremely disappointed had I actually bought it LOL.

Got me a corsair RM750e

went modular, finally.
Well done. But beware: you won't want to go back.
10k is fair. I paid 9k for my Seasonic in 2015.

I was seriously considering one of those, but not at double the cost to the one I got.
Yeah the pricing sucks big time the 815 cost me 209 bucks nearly two years ago and the 915 is 467 bucks less the 209 bucks I paid nearly two years ago so made it worthwhile to grab it I wouldn't have paid the full price for it though that's just whack for a KB

Picked up a pair of these 10 Gbps network cards for the equivalent of $54 a piece, should arrive next week.
Not a fan of TP-Link routers, bit this should hopefully be the same as all the other Aquantia based cards.

They are Aquantia cards (AQC107) so make sure to get the latest firmware 1.80.3_3.1.121a and drivers 3.1.7.0 from Marvel https://www.marvell.com/support/downloads.html
the only thing TP on this NIC is the name on the HS

Oh, I know, as I have a couple of original Aquantia cards since way back when they had a black Friday deal and I paid around $65 a pop for the cards.
Yeah, it looks like the reference design with a bigger heatsink, so that's why I was willing to get them despite being TP-Link.
The price was just too appealing to miss this deal, I'm guess the shop is getting rid of whatever stock they've got, as I can't seem them as having been big sellers as the lowest MSRP used to be around US$90, but the price has dropped by around $5-10 every few months since the end of July by the shop I got them from and everyone else still retails them for around $100. Maybe I jumped the gun and they'll be over cheaper over black Friday, but I doubt it.
