Round two in my adventures with used data center drives...

Picked up a couple of 800GB Samsung 845DC Pro drives for about $60 total.
These drives use 24-layer MLC, use a custom Samsung controller, and have 1GB of LPDDR2 as a DRAM cache.
They really don't make SSDs like they used to. A decent modern 1TB TLC drive will have an endurance of around 600 TBW; these drives have an endurance of 14.6
PBW.
As for how used they are, one had 117 TBW, while the other only had 2 TBW (despite both having around 62,000 hours on them). Their life-remaining numbers were 98% and 99%, respectively.

Performance seems slightly behind a decent modern SATA drive. Not bad for $30.
I'd think that even though they have 7 years of uptime, these drives would continue being reliable for a long time. We'll see.
