What's your latest tech purchase?

230v to 110v adapter works with no problem , as long as the devices can use either one .

NZXT C1500 Platinum ATX 3.1 | Fully Modular Low-Noise PC Gaming Power Supply | 1500 Watts | 80 Plus Platinum| Dual 12V-2x6 Connectors | Zero Fan Mode | 100% Japanese Capacitors | Black

Picked up Rocksmith 2014 remastered for $3.00 in the last steam winter sale and it needs the converter cable from a 6.5mm Electric Guitar plug to USB in order to function. So I snagged one of those.

Its honestly awesome, and Rocksmith is a really incredible teaching tool. Basically guitar hero with an actual guitar and lessons. I'm not going to be the greatest guitarist in the world, but simply being able to listen to a song and understand/visualize the techniques the guitarist is using to create the music is a gift unto itself.

It can seem like magic without the knowledge, and then its actually so elegantly simple with even 101 introductory level knowledge...

Been testing with the KILLAWATT outlet for 110v , with the new c1500 , idle load about the same 125 to 130 watts, but 100 percent GPU load test was amazing , 1200 watt PSU was 700 watts at the outlet, new c1500 was 630 watts at the outlet , knew it would be better ,but also cooler .
Even better just OC the 4090 =500 watts , outlet was only 670 watts c1500 vs 1200 watt PSU used 700 watts and default 4090 450 watts .

And my replacement order of water flow meters came in black again.... I found another seller, so hopefully I'll get some white ones next week. I also ordered some of the Corsair white braided soft tubing.

Arrived a lot earlier than I had expected. Cloning currently in progress.

Are you sure? Old SF750 is Type 4, but those new (2024 models and SFX-L, i.e. SF1000L) ones use Type 5.
You're correct, ordered new cable set from Ray mod.

Needed 16 pin anyway so not a big deal. Fun fact the 16 pin is compatible with the 12 pin, but not other way around. So using stock 16 pin cable on my 3080 Ti.

New PSU is nice though.

Got a new mouse pad that's water resistant, deskmat to go under the atlas and keyboard.

Better lighting than my old goliatus chroma too.

Just bought this to upgrade a friends PC with a dead/dying Adata SX8200 Pro NVMe SSD

(damn I need to clean my KB)

It's a lot cleaner than first glance might suggest. More signs of use than anything else.
Yeah I seen worse. The plastic on ABS keycaps just wears down kinda funny and sometimes ends up looking grimey no matter what you do.

That's a lot of editing...
Well he is our proofreader lol...

I have bought this nVidia 3080 Ti being second hand. First owner bought it from Berlin at 22-11-2011 and paid €1450 according to the invoice and I have paid €415 including shipping.

I bought a 25,000 mAh power bank for my Steam Deck. I just did a full charge from zero, and the bank has got 41% left. Not perfect, but good enough. I like the display, though.

I do have a 30,000 mAh one as well, but it's a cheaper model of a noname brand that doesn't support USB-PD, and can't charge the Deck.

The forum apparently adds a notification every time you add a paragraph, I only edited it once to reduce the size of an image.

XSPC Raystorm for my tinker rig is on its way as well as 120x38 fans for my two rads in that rig. Also Beastie Boys cassette! Ill communication album... on cassette, cassette! It was 50% off too. Im a huge Bboy fan and have a pretty cool collection of rare LPs, CDs and now cassettes. :)

I went on a little buying spree over the holidays. Grabbed a 480mm radiator, 10 arctic p12 max fans (cheaper than buying another 4 noctua that I was using), and some cheap cl15 memory. The memory wasnt really an upgrade as i already had 32Gb corsair but these have better timings (probably wont notice any performance difference) but it gives me an excuse up give the corsiar memory to my son for his PC.

Normally I wouldn't even post an adapter purchase, but this one is kind of hard to get and pricey due to it "SUPPOSEDLY" being the only Displayport 2.0 -> HDMI 2.1 adapter in existence. This is in fact however, a lie, at least as most of us would think of it.

It does support several of the niceties of Displayport 2.0 such as dynamic HDR metadata and such, which is probably why legal let the "DP 2.0" naming fly. but it's not a full bitrate DP 2.0 adapter. It's not even a minimum bitrate DP2.0 adapter. It's honestly more of a DisplayPort 1.4 adapter. It is however still, the fastest adapter I have ever tested, clocking in at HBR3 speeds of 8.1gbps x4 lanes. That's fast, but it isn't really true Displayport 2.0 fast. Most adapters do not surpass HBR2 which is Displayport 1.2 speeds.

Proof:

Proof: That's HBR3 speeds when rendering 4k@120hz Full RGB 10bpc, which while no adapter anywhere else I have tested goes beyond HBR2, still falls short of any UHBR speed and still means DSC will be used on a 4k@120hz 10BPC HDR link. Can't deny I feel somewhat disappointed. Hope this helps someone.

@W1zzard don't suppose you know the technical requirements to label a active adapter as DP 2.0 compliant, and if just supporting HBR3 is violating them? Caldigit is a fairly high end "Mac user" retailer so this fairly blatant misuse of the terminology surprised me a bit.

Two mice (Cherry, Logitech MX3) and a trackball(Logitech Ergo) got broken. I need a substitutin. And let's see if the Ring works...

What is this ring supposed to do? I can't imagine it's The One Ring™
Lord of the rings (The ring of Mordor): One ring to rule them...

Razer Wolverine V3 TE has failed after a month, giving me random movements and inputs I didn't do.

Its replacement is the Power A OPS V3
powera-ops-v3-pro.jpg

Little small for my hands but then again so are most things.

Feels better than the Razer apart from the shoulder buttons which are membrane and not microswitches.
Good pad so far...
