I also have only 6 of those chips, but mabye its related to the different ramsizes? 256/512

Btw Back from Roskilde, So i'll try to "contact" my card to flash it one of these days (actually got sick at the festival, so i'm going to get better before i try flashing anything)

btw. eating an Ipod a day (its apple, is it not? :)

i think its due to the clock speeds and how much power it needs...

If we can find an x1900gt with 7 fets, thats probably our best bet to a 256 x1900xt

Ring Ram

The ram is under the heatsink in a ring around the GPU. The parts on the far end of the card look to be voltage regulators. So logically, they could be hardware disabling sections of the core by removing parts from the electrical circut path.

This makes a lot of sense, since it does not require a re-engineering of the entire board and production process.

The missing elements are from the core power supply. With less pipes it is normal to have less mosfets (cheaper card). The problem is in the core itself (bad pipes) in the most cases.

About the disappearing of the card after some flashes probably it is some kind of flash protection comming from the flasher and the BIOS?

@wizzard,we need a new atitool version that supports the x1900gt with temp.vcore.memcore!!!

what volt do you use to go over 700? i cant do that my temp goes over 100c when i set core over 1.4, man its a hot card... and its very hot outside.. i have to have a open case now.
i can clock memory to 860 artifact free, no problem. the temp is allright with 1.3-1.4 above its way to high, and the damn card takes over 40A acording to ATItool.
What drivers do you use?

that is nuts! On 12 pipes though? If thats 16 pipes then that is amazingly fast for that price.

Any news on the 0xAD4E? I just grabbed a Powercolor (R580LE, 724B) with that GB_PIPE_SELECT.

Looks like unlocking the pipes on these cards may not be possible at this stage. Have to say though, these cards are pretty good for their price just as they are.

I got the rabit 2.0 it does not tell me what card I am using the "logging" tab, displays on it but nothign else... well my gb_pipe_select = 0x00012bb4 and ofc I got 12 pipes active atm.

Oh and with the ati tool when under load it says my gpu draws 19.1 amps but my psu says its max is 18 amps on the rail, I got a 300 watt psu that came with my Gateway computer...
I will get a new one if you guys think i should, well I know if i was to overclock I would need a new one (my system would prob bottleneck it anyways).

Here are my system stats :

-pent 630 3.0 HT
-1 gig of 3200 ram - duel channal its 3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz / 2.5-3-3-7 @166 MHz
-Intel D915GAG motherboard
-250 gig sata harddrive
-ati 1900gt

P.S.- so my questions are how to get the radit thing working, do I need a new psu if I unlock my card or even now?

Thanks.

well i thought the x1900gt required a psu of minimum 450W

na thats if your system is "fully loaded" meaning harddrives multiple fans some liquid cooling, sound card and so on, well I read u can run cards with alot less watts many people do it i guess but I also heard not having enuff amps can heat up your card more, not sure about that, I do run kinda high.

ya its recommended to get a sli-ready psu... sli ready psus always have high amps, dual, tripple, or quad rails and high watts

Anyone know why Radit 2.0 wont tell me my video card specs?

Where do I find Radit 2.1, I looked around couldent find.

Any news on the 0xAD4E? I just buy and grabbed cart with 0xAD4E too- Sapphire (R580LE 9XL, 724B) with that GB_PIPE_SELECT. Any chances?

Jarromiro, go into "over-clocking and cooling" section of the fourm look into the RaBiT 2.1 post.
I think the R580LE is the same as R580pro witch would mean u can open up the extra pipes.

Anyone tried unlocking Connect3D X1900GT?
If not, then I guess I'll be the first one once my guineapigs arrive.

Powercolor x1900gt

Is there anyone who know if it is possible to modding the bios on this card(activate all pipelines) Powercolor X1900GT - R580XL(LE) - 0x12BB4

read this link http://forums.techpowerup.com/showthread.php?t=14213 and one page back on this thread. you need to open your bios u make with ati tool in rabit 2.1 than find out if it says 1900pro or 1900xt, somthing like that one of them is unlockable.

Edit : go to the 1st post i this thread and scroll down it a lil bit.
