X1900gt Unlock Bios Found!!!

if that is true and we get a X1900Xt 256mb BIOS then we will now for sure if we can unlock them or not.

i have now problem clocking my memory to 850 with out artifacts on orginal volt.

I guess its unlikey to be able to unlock the 1900 gt cards, did u check to see if you got a R580Pro?

guys, i just tried to flash my BBA R580 XL with tofu's PRO modded bios and the card messed up. Computer posts and boots into windows with a blank screen. LED on monitor stays in standby mode. pipe select is 0x12BB4. Also did the Hex edit from 19 to 18 and still got 12 pipes. Got a new one and playing around with it some more.

UPDATE: Ok i have a new card now with 0x6E4B. Looks like this is non unlockable, but i did a little experiment with the cards. I cross flashed it with the old card that has the 0x12BB4 pipe select and ATI tool still reports the card as a 0x6E4B. I guess we can conclude that its locked on the hardware level, and even with the new 256 MB XT coming out, flashing wont do any good.

ATI X1900GT Memory type

I just bought a ATI brand X1900GT and on the memory is BC12 and not BJ11 what is the dif and is one better in overclocking? I have not installed the card yet as I have a Micro ATX case and it is a bit of a pain to install. Could the core be a R580Pro or XL by reading the memory installed.

Mine was bad from the beginning, the seller was ind to send me a new one i didnt have to send the broken one back.. i sent it to ATI on RMA and they send a new one back too so i also have 2 cards now. Now i just need to get them work in crossfire.

i found something interesting......heres a shot on my 1900XTX. I had that ati.exe running, so thats the reason for reduced clock. More info that wasnt shown:

Device ID 7249
Chip Name R580
Memory size 512MB

Heres a shot of the XTX with the pipe select. As you can see, its the same as tofu's. Ill take off the heatsink and see what it shows on the core.

I thought you need a x1900 crossfire edition card, (special card the 1900's use for crossfire they cost like 450$). you can run 2 1600xt's together but not 2 1900gts/xt's. The gts I guess are just a good single card, I would have to get the xt edition to go with the special 512mb crossfire edition card.

I thought you need a x1900 crossfire edition card, (special card the 1900's use for crossfire they cost like 450$). you can run 2 1600xt's together but not 2 1900gts/xt's. The gts I guess are just a good single card, I would have to get the xt edition to go with the special 512mb crossfire edition card.

Nope not with the new Catalyst 6.6 driver, only need a crossfire board.
