X1900gt Unlock Bios Found!!!

Whoa I wonder how they let that get out!

tofu, so you were changing that bit on the Sapphire and HIS bioses and that was what wasn't working? I wonder if anyone actually verified their RAM speed before flashing.

The problem with the Engineering bios might be a mem timing issue. You can perma edit the mem timings in RaBiT or at least the setting is there - I am not sure it works correctly. Could you send me a copy of your bios to sleepeeg3(REMOVE)@yahoo.com? I wanna compare it to the retail bios.

If it was a memory timing issue, then why did ATIFlash no longer recognize my card?

i doubt its the memory, it probably is something in the core.

The problem is more serious. Memory timings can't cause the flash program to recognize the card. Usually it is wrong BIOS flashed or the "original" BIOS modified incorrectly and flashed. This can be fixed with unsoldering of the card's EEPROM chip and reprograming it on external programmer.

Same reason if you set too tight timings in your bios, it won't boot and you have to manually clear the CMOS jumper. Only there is no CMOS jumper on a video card.

...but it's probably not that, because I think they all use 1.4ns.

We need dolf to figure this one out...

I gotta post this:

forum member sagi_10, never posted his results, is the only other person I know who unlocked his/her own X1900GT. sagi_10 said it was my thread that helped him unlock it. Apparently he fked up his card while taking off the heatsink and is hoping that his new X1900GT has the "PRO" core (his old card did).

The case described (with the MOBOs) is little different. That "recognition" problem appears when AGP BIOS is flashed on PCI-E card or vice versa. Because of different instructions, pinouts, organization and so on. Even higher the memory clock shouldn't affect the access of the DOS program to the card's EEPROM if something else is not confused.

I don't understand something. Is there somebody who wants to unlock his X1900GT or the discussion is on principle:confused: ?

If there is such people please give the GB_PIPE_SELECT values :) .

RMA for my X1900GT!
I still dunno why my card fkup tho. Too late for that!

Aren't all of the values 0X3FE4?

I know that nobody loves to read but few post above I have wrote something:

"X1800, X1900 has no fuses which to tell us whether the card should be modded to 16 pipes or not but they still have one important fuse value and it is GB_PIPE_SELECT .
For sure all the moddable cores have just 4 digits (example: GB_PIPE_SELECT: 0X2724 or 0X3FE4). But it doesn't mean that 4 digits guarantee moddability to 16 pipes. All the cores which are not moddable to 16 pipes has 4 digits (example: GB_PIPE_SELECT: 0X6E48 or 0XAD46) or 5 digits (example: GB_PIPE_SELECT: 0X227A4 or 0X12B84 or 0X19940 and 8 pipe combinations: 0X31344, 0X25650, 0X29550, 0X11940/R423/).

That are all the combinations collected from the fuse thread.

If taking of the fuse information on X1800/X1900 series is not a problem for you please post some data here to see whether it could be used.

I consider that this information could also be used to predict the modability of the R5x0 cores."

From the information that I gathered, all X1900 have the 0X3FE4. Including the X1900GT, and AIW X1900.

But, not all of them can be unlocked...

Probably they can be unlocked but the owners of these cards don't know how to do that or the values on R5x0 mean something else. That's why it is necessary to collect data. And believe me that I have met a lot of people with unlockable cards which claims that the card can't be unlocked. Usually the reason is that they don't want to read and always missed an important command.

this is tottally out of topic, Hey tofu did you used that new FireGl card you got, if you did what kind of perforamnce is it giving, because for what i know ATI's FireGL are for 3d animation and such.

Hi, Here's my card. An Ati X1900GT. It's using Samsung 1.4ns RAMs.

Screen Shot of the Bios using RaBit and ATI Tools.

And finally the original Bios file itself.

Htkm1, could you please open ATITool and go to "Settins" and show us what are the values for GB_PIPE_SELECT.

Hi dolf, I have edited my post.

The R520"XL" core may not unlock, but I can still mod the BIOS for you.

BIOS will be posted soon.

EDIT: next time you post BIOSes, please use the TechPowerUp! file tool, it makes things much easier.

Sorry, my bad. I assumed all of the X1900GT had the 0x3FE4 pipe. Turns out htkml's X1900GT is different.

EDIT: on the front page I will start something like a database to store these pipe configs.

Here is your BIOS, modded to work as 16pp. Hope it works (I doubt it though :banghead: )

Okay, tofu, and whoever can enlighten me, I have a few questions.

Are there specific brands that do not unlock? Is there a specific brand that has the highest unlock rate?
I heard the card initially comes with 32 shader pipelines while an xt or xtx comes with 48. Does unlocking the 16 pipes also unlock it to 48 shader pipes?

I'm post #7 that you refered to earlier in the thread. Using a Hex editor, I was able to unlock 16 pipes on my X1800GTO. I then used rabit 2.1 to change voltages to 1.45V and run 700/700 on the card constantly, a 40% overclock...

What is the highest voltage setting for this card? How much can this thing overclock?

Interesting, your core is called R580LE. Never heard of that.

There are no specific brand that has the highest unlock rate. My BBA X1900GT unlocked to 16pp, and sagi_10's Sapphire X1900GT also unlocked.

When you unlock the remaining quad pipes, the 12 shaders are automatically unlocked as well as they are activated as a single unit.

Post #7? In this thread, that was a post by W1zzard, not me.

I would say on air cooling, max, max voltage would be 1.35VGPU, if you have liquid cooling you can goto 1.5V or even more. Ask hot_fifty for his oc'ing results on liquid cooling.

Htkm1's bios is also called R580LE. look at his pictures of ATI Tool. and rabit says R580XL like his too.

and for the volts.. im running 1.4v on stock cooler.. running around 70-75 degrees.

The bios only gives 1,325 right, you havent change timings? atitool can do the same and more if

as set a run 749/945 1,5 on water max. 700/900 1,4 vgpu 24 / 7:)

which brand do you have htkml... ixq and I have Sapphire which is locked.. DAMMIT
