Htkm1's bios is also called R580LE. look at his pictures of ATI Tool. and rabit says R580XL like his too.

and for the volts.. im running 1.4v on stock cooler.. running around 70-75 degrees.

I think the GT edition ATITool reports the X1900GT as R580LE.

When I used the beta 14, it was recognized as just the R580.

1.5V is the highest? Stick a case fan and some ram sinks on the voltage regulators. Thats what I did. at 1.45V on my x1800gto the voltage regulators idle at 43C load 55C.

By post#7, I meant the refrence you made to another forum, where i was poster #7 with instructions on how to unlock 16 pipes using a hex editor...

Both. You can get some ram sinks for like 10 bucks at a computer store. After that get yourself a case fan for a few bucks... I attached it using long screws and 3 nuts per screw to keep the fan in place just off the heatsink.

At 1.575, what is the fastest x1900gt anyone has seen? Or x1900 chip for that matter...

Here is your BIOS, modded to work as 16pp. Hope it works (I doubt it though :banghead: )

Hi tofu,
Thanks for the modding the Bios. :) Before I go and shoot myself on the foot need to check some stuff.
- Which FLASH should I use to flash the mod bios?
Cause I could not back up my original Bios using AtiFlash Or Flashrom. Both came up with "Adaptor 0(zero) not found" on the DOS screen. Had to use AtiWinflash to back up Bios.

This is how I tried backing up.
Atiflash: I booted up with a boot disk and then type;
a:\> atiflash -s 0(zero) backup.rom

Flashrom:
a:\> flashrom.exe -s 0(zero) backup.rom
Both came up with adaptor 0(zero) not found.

Next any link on how to flash back to original bios if something goes wrong(touch wood) ? Need to use a pci-card gfx to boot and stuff.

**DO NOT USE WINFLASH** i heard too many horror stories from it, and most of the time it does a BAD flash to your card.

use ATIFLASH, i was a n00b about it but i learned how to use it, read this post about BIOS flashing http://www.techpowerup.com/articles/overclocking/vidcard/34 .

ATIflash:

1. download it

2. make a bootlabe floppy (right click it, then click "format", then check the box "Create a MS-DOS startup Disk")

3.unzip atiflash file to the Floopy

4.put the BIOS you want in the floppy too (code name it so you could remember, EXP: i named mine "LOL")

5.boot from floppy

6.type atiflash, then wait and a something like a manual will appear, just press any key to pass that.

7.type just like this "atiflash -s 0 oldbios.bin" thats so you could save ur old BIOS in case

8.type just like this "atiflash -newbios -f -p 0 lol.bin/rom " (btw do not put lol just put the code-name you gave to the bios)

9.done...

most of the time ppl get bad flashes because they dont type -newbios.

just i i said before.

With GB_PIPE_SELECT 0x227A4 values it was possible to unlock, probably it will be possible with 0x227E4 also.

With that GB_PIPE_SELECT values I don't think that you can unlock to 16 pipes.

why you say that?

i wanna try!

Who knows ;)

To try is the only way because I think that GB_PIPE_SELECT shows that your core probably won't unlock to 16 pipe but there still has a minimal chance. There were a R420 core with similar values which was unlocked. But it is better to compare with R480 where that result should be equal to only 12 pipes  .

Can anyone volunteer their X1900GT?

I would like to test the unlock BIOS with a different deviceID, 724A (like on mine) instead of 724B (like everyone elses). It might fkup your card though. So I don't think any1 will volunteer.
