X1900gt Unlock Bios Found!!!

Hi, first time poster, long time user.

My card is a Club3d X1900GT (with Gto on the green sticker on the back)
Card Info (relative to this thread):

Hope the X1900gt will be the new 9500-9700pro (my previous card, still running strong and clocked in my friends pc) / X850gto-X850XT. it would make it the best card on the market if you look at Price VS Performance.

have is your temps on that X1900 with X2.. much better?

not much about 5-10 degrees celcius lower than stock*, but oh so much more quieter

*= dependant on room temp. think my room tmp is abt 20-25 degrees Celsius

Guys try to unlock 16 pipes (on cores which looks promising) using the original BIOS moded to 16 pipes and atiflash with the following command line:
atiflash -f -p -newbios 0 bios16.bin (.rom)
-newbios is used to override the pipe information which remains preserved (or it was on the X800/X850)
If somebody want's to try and needs BIOS modification to 16 pipes, please to attach the original BIOS.

I hear ya! But did you try unlocking it? Success or failure?

Guys try to unlock 16 pipes (on cores which looks promising) using the original BIOS moded to 16 pipes and atiflash with the following command line:
atiflash -f -p -newbios 0 bios16.bin (.rom)
-newbios is used to override the pipe information which remains preserved (or it was on the X800/X850)
If somebody want's to try and needs BIOS modification to 16 pipes, please to attach the original BIOS.

Yea, all you unlockers should try this method.

havn't tried unlocking it, going on vacation for two weeks (roskilde festival, YEAH) on sunday, and having so litle money as I do, i dont like risking a perfectly good card (lots of cards dying on this thread)

I used winflash, 'cause atiflash couldn't identify the card (probably 'cause My MB. is a Dual AGP+PCI-e Board (Asrock 939 Dual SataII))

Nice.. Roskilde is the best event in denmark for sure..
and i understand you. i was a but sceptic with the whole flashing deal. but it seems you can fix allmost every mistake..
i still have high hopes for your card tofu

on topic: i just tryed to flash my old bios into my card. now the original bios dosnt work.. it goes for a black screen. the volt modded bios works perfecly though..

i just don't want to flash my card, never being able to flash it back (so it works again) (luckily i can use agp as xtra, and i do have an x1600pro lying around collecting dust on its protective antistatic cover) but still, it's like a month and a half old, and cost me aprox 2700Nok (1$=ca 6Nok) but if i can flash it back, (with no troubles) i'll flash it the moment i get the modded bios

I didn't know -newbios was needed in order to get the 16 pipes unlocked all the way... Or is that not what you guys meant?

I never used the -newbios command until now. It has always shown 16 pipes unlocked with the regular line without -newbios...

should i notice any differences now that I used -newbios?

Hold on a sec... you unlocked the remaining 4 pipes on the X1900GT?

no, on my X1800GTO... lol. Again, I'm the guy you refrenced to at the beginning of the thread as "Post #7"...

I'm the one who posted instructions on how to unlock the gto using a hex editor... I'm assuming the x1900gt can be unlocked the same way... I always flashed my X1800gto without the -newbios command... Is it true that he -newbios command is needed along with the unlock? I never noticed

-newbios command was necessary along with X800/850 cards to force writing over the preserved BIOS parts (number of the active pipe lines). With X1800/X1900 probably nothing remains preserved and -newbios command is useless .

Does the computer boot up in the background or can you tell it stops booting at the beginning?

I killed an x1800gto one time somehow.. I think rabit was corrupt and corrupted the bios. But yea, what it did for me was stop booting alltogether and i had no pci video card so i just rma'd it... I've gotten blank output before though, while windows booted up in the background and everything... So all I did then was start the computer with the integrated video, then write a batch file... Goto C:\ then make a new txt file. Open it up and put:

A:\atiflash -newbios -f -p 0 C:\backup.rom

then goto save as... and in quotes put "flash.bat"

when you hear the computer loading dos in the background give it enough time to load everything... Since you can't see whats going on, its best to time how long it takes to load dos using your integrated video, then plug in the card and wait that ammount of time and then some... then type

C:\flash.bat

it should automatically flash the card

So you were the guy I referenced to!! I never knew!!

Yes the same trick works on the X1900GT with the "PRO" cores, like I was saying. So far only sagi_10 and I (tofu) have come across this very special core.

Mine is a BBA X1900GT
sagi_10 is Sapphire X1900GT
