Doesn't the picture tell the reason? Those sexy cables... (not extensions, those are cablemod's cables for that PSU which I got with the PSU) ;)
I should get cables for my PSU from Cablemod too. Thankfully SuperFlower PSUs use EVGA cables.

Well, makes sense as they make EVGA PSUs.

Exactly, this is a Leadex in EVGA's covers if I remember correctly.

Not since the G3 and P2 series, I don't think. Someone will probably correct that if wrong.

Not sure. At least the one I have uses the E-Series cables according to CableMod.

Also huh, CableMod has SPDigital as a retailer. First time I see a Chilean retailer in a site like this.

Tried to make cable management a bit better, and to make the GPU cables stand out a bit less. I think it's better without the zip tie, actually.

Man, I cleaned my PC yesterday (at least the gpu, the cpu cooler and the base of the case) and its full of dust again.

HORROR - I just bought a ThinkStation off ebay - it has arrived - as has the DP cable to plug into the display.

It is going through a new Windows 10 install. There are so many opt-in questions for MS data spying it's unreal. Now I've got the desktop. And there is Edge, shopping basket icons, weather widgets, all there, unwanted. I've forgotten HOW MUCH TIME AND HORROR it is to uninstall this carp. It's been at least 8 years since I clean installed a MS OS. The only thing I have done in that time is upgrade locked down 7s to 10s which was a little less work.

Oh man! Where do i start!

Here. Keep in mind some stuff (specially modern apps) might break.

(And the usual this doesn't give any guarantee and might break your system etc etc)

Not bad! Personally I use velcro zipties if there's more than one GPU cable, though not now as I have sleeved ones. I'll get cable combs later for those.

The new gpu water block is taller than the previous (1080ti) so new tubes are ordered.

For those wondering, iCUE is set up so the bottom fan reads GPU temp on the left side, CPU temp on the right side. The others go lighter blue to orange as CPU temp rises.

Yeah, Noctua's not being daisy chainable is actually deal breaker now that comparable fans are now being sold. At least it's fixable using a fan hub or fan splitter.

Also what's up with the backwards airflow?
Looks like the case design puts the mobo / PSU / CPU cooler in the way of mounting a topside radiator. Heat rises, so I've wondered whether a bottom intake / front-rear exhaust setup might be more effective. Be interesting to see what Valentine says though. I wonder what case that is.

I would take a lot more empty fan extenders to bring the direct airflow to the front. But still he needs one more to seal the deal, because the top fan may be stealing some of it.

The top fans are pretty weak relative to the other fans, they are the Noctua NFA12x15 thin fan. They mostly remove heat from the VRM. There is such little space at the top due to the size of the NHD15S. I wanted the exhaust for the top because the VRM does get quite hot due to the fact that the processor is a i9 12900KS and it can draw a lot of power at full load.

The backwards airflow seems to result in lower temperatures. I tried it both directions. The CPU gets fresh air straight from the back, the videocard gets fresh air straight from the bottom (I don't run the bottom filter so theres a substantial amount of air brought in). The difference in temperatures from back intake versus front intake is only a few degrees at best though.

Most of the hot exhaust flow goes out the front top Thermalright (orange) fan.

These Noctuas came from heatsinks, I bought a bulk lot of 20 of them for ~$8 per fan, they all had heatsink clips.
Its quite likely the front most horizontal fans are totally worthless but they look good.

The case is a Lian Li O11 Air Mini. The case is great except you cannot run a 3x120mm radiator, it doesn't have enough length for the end caps, they made the case slightly too short. The O11 Dynamic Mini is the correct length, despite similar name, very different case. Not sure their logic with that.

Internally the O11 Mini and O11 Air Mini are different and generally lacks interchangeable parts. They're built different to address the single biggest criticism to the O11 Mini - sfx psu only.

This was my system before I relocated it to my old Meshify 2.

Yeah cpu temps were a problem, especially when it comes to games that are both cpu and gpu heavy like CP-2077 and NFS Heat.

I just cranked the case fans to max and hoped for the best, usually worked.

Temps were great generally speaking; they'd be worse though if I used an aio however.

On a lower powered system however, this isn't really an issue.

Like my sister's build which contained and 11600k (non-oced, just whatever mce does to it) and a power maxed (but again, not oced) 1080 Ti.

Just one of those things where they could just make the O11 Air Mini just 2" longer and you could put a 2x360mm rad and 2x280mm rad setup in.
My temps are pretty damn good. Games don't see the CPU exceeding 60s.

Slowly getting there..

I still need to: shorten one tube (the one from the 360 rad to gpu), add the rad drop-in, (air) leak test, rewire..and a ton more.

The solid tubing looks nice, but that's gotta be a monumental PITA to cut and bend.

True, that's why I let Bitspower do it for me. ;)

If you do want to bend these hard tubes the chrome would most likely give way.

Liquid cooling can be cool, but I haven't seen where it's superior to air-cooling. My 5900X peaks around 70-72, sometimes 85 if running stupid hard. The 3060ti usually sits around 40-60, but sometimes can reach 65-70. It can run cooler, but I sleep five feet from this thing.

Wow,

Have you ever done a custom loop?

Its far superior for thermals than air cooling!
