I cleaned all the old hardware from a 1937 Philco Radio. I then built my PC inside this. I truly enjoyed building this and I now have a completely unique computer. All knobs on the front are original but now control Power, Reset, and Volume/sound. The Speakers are installed inside also.
Not only are the speakers installed inside the case, but I can still plug head phones into the front of it. The little hole above the top center knob (volume control) is for the head phones. The normal LED lights that are on a regular computer case have been replaced with white LED lights and light up the back of the original dial. It looks as if I always have it tuned to the police band. I had a bit of trouble with the power and resets switches. I had to find some that worked with the motherboard but were bulky enough to hold the original knobs. The components are mounted on the original steel base that the tubes and other components were mounted to. And the only way I was able to build this was because I was able to find a Micro ITX motherboard and a Micro ATX power supply. The motherboard is a mere 7" x 7", but is powerful enough to hold a Core 2 Duo and the on board video card can handle a High Definition TV or monitor. And I used 2 recycled computer towers to make the inside "case" that holds the components together.
