Shipments of OLED Monitors Hit 200,000 Units in 1Q24, Annual Forecast to Reach 1.34 Million

TrendForce's latest report reveals a robust start to 2024 for OLED monitors, with shipments reaching approximately 200,000 units in the first quarter—marking a YoY growth of 121%. The momentum is expected to continue into the second quarter, which is set to see quarterly growth of 52% as new models hit the market, bringing the total for the first half to 500,000 units. With brands ramping up investments and panel makers launching new products alongside aggressive promotions, annual shipments are projected to soar to 1.34 million units, achieving an impressive 161% growth rate.

Samsung leads the market share in the first quarter with 36%, driven by strong sales of its 49-inch models which offer a significant cost-performance advantage—being only 20% more expensive than their LCD counterparts. Notably, Samsung's plan to introduce 27-inch and 31.5-inch models in Q2, which are expected to further boost its OLED shipments.

Gamers throughout the UK will be able to experience a new level of 4K gaming, with the launch of BenQ's first OLED Gaming Monitor, the MOBIUZ EX480UZ. BenQ, the world-leading human technology and solutions provider, has created a next-level 4K 48" OLED gaming monitor. The newest monitor to join the BenQ and MOBIUZ family boasts a 0.1 ms response time, FreeSync Premium and a 120 Hz refresh rate to support smooth and uninterrupted gameplay.

BenQ Showcases OLED and Fast-IPS Gaming Monitors at CES

PC display and projection major BenQ showed off three of its latest Mobiuz gaming monitors at the 2023 International CES. The star-attraction was the Mobiuz EX480UZ, a large-format 48-inch gaming display with an OLED panel. This display provides 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160 pixels) resolution with blistering fast 0.1 ms (GTG) response-time, and covers 98% of DCI-P3 with delta ≤2. It uses HDMI 2.1 inputs, and includes a powerful internal speaker-set consisting of two 5 W front-channels, and 10 W woofer. The monitor supports AMD FreeSync Pro.

The Mobiuz EX270QM is a 27-inch WQHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) monitor with a Fast-IPS panel that offers 240 Hz refresh rate, with 1 ms (GTG) response time, and 98% of DCI-P3 coverage, along with DisplayHDR 600 support. It uses a full-bandwidth HDMI 2.1 input and supports AMD FreeSync Pro. Lastly, there's the Mobiuz EX270M, which is the same 27-inch size, but with lower Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, the same 240 Hz refresh-rate and 1 ms response time, but with 99% sRGB coverage and AMD FreeSync Premium Pro support. This monitor packs a 2.1 speaker setup with 2.5 W front-channel speakers, and a 5 W subwoofer.

LG Launches New UltraGear Gaming Monitors, Including 48-inch OLED Version

LG Electronics (LG) has announced the launch of its new UltraGear gaming monitor lineup (models 32GQ950, 32GQ850 and 48GQ900). With an all-new design language, the latest display tech and a range of gaming and connectivity features, the 2022 UltraGear gaming monitors have what it takes to satisfy gamers' needs.
