BenQ Launches 4LED Short-Throw Projector for Immersive Console Gaming in XXL Format

BenQ, one of the world's leading brands in DLP projectors, introduces the TH690ST 4LED gaming projector with short-throw technology. The new addition to BenQ's gaming projector series is great for all types of entertainment, whether for console gaming or watching movies and series or for broadcasting live sporting events. Via the 2 HDMI (2.0b) interfaces, the TH690ST can be used with all popular gaming consoles, such as the Sony PS5/PS4, Nintendo Switch or Xbox series and is the perfect partner for fast-paced virtual sports, response-critical FPS and time-sensitive battles. With its 1080P HDR picture quality, low input lag of just 8.33 ms at 120 Hz and brightness of 2300 ANSI lumen, the TH690ST is now available in stores at a suggested retail price of €1,199 including VAT.

With an image diagonal of up to 100 inches from a distance of only 1.5 meters from the projection surface, the TH690ST 4LED short-throw projector is a cost-effective alternative to large-screen TVs. For easy and convenient projection from different positions in the room, the 2D keystone correction eliminates trapezoidal effects and optimizes image alignment. With its 4LED light source, the TH690ST offers compelling image quality with high brightness, clear contrast and balanced saturation. The lifespan of the LED light source is rated at 30,000 hours in ECO mode, which, assuming approximately 4 hours of daily use, equates to approximately 21 years of use without the need for a replacement.

BenQ Unveils PD2506Q 25-inch 1440p Monitor with USB Power Delivery Input

BenQ introduced the PD2506Q, a 25-inch monitor for creative professionals. The monitor offers several features useful for pros, such as 10bpc color, AQColor calibration, a "Darkroom" mode that adjusts settings to an image post-processing environment, Design and CAD-CAM modes that appear to add certain edge anti-aliasing to the screen; etc. Its key specs include WQHD (1440p) resolution, DisplayHDR 400 / HDR10 readiness, 178° viewing angles, and 350 cd/m² brightness. A stand-out feature is its set of inputs, which include HDMI 2.0, DisplayPort 1.4, and USB type-C. The monitor supports type-C for display input (as in DisplayPort passthrough), USB upstream input, and power delivery (USB-PD 65 W needed). It also supports daisy-chaining of up to two monitors. If you lack a USB-PD power source, you can just use the included power brick.

BenQ Launches 4K HDR Gaming Projector

BenQ has launched a new, quirky projector and this time the company is targeting gamers. The X3000i as the model is known as, is a 4LED DLP projector that claims to have low input lag. Although it supports 4K, this is only at 60 Hz, but it has two different 1080p gaming modes that support either 240 Hz with a 4.16 ms input lag or 120 Hz with an 8 ms input lag. It sports a total of three HDMI 2.0b ports, of which the third, hidden port is occupied by an HDMI dongle that adds "smart" features to the projector. It's the QS01 dongle that we've seen before from BenQ, but it has been updated to Android 10. Other connectivity consists of a single USB Type-A 2.0 port that can deliver 2.5 A, an RS232 serial port, a DC 12 V trigger jackm, as well as a 3.5 mm audio jack and an optical S/PDIF out. One of the accessible HDMI ports supports eARC and the X3000i has a pair of integrated speakers that delivers a not too powerful 10 W audio output.

The projector can be ceiling mounted and also comes with a pair of extra feet that are apparently used when mounting the projector upside down. BenQ has included a 1.3x zoom option that can reduce the throw distance and the X3000i can produce a 120-inch image with a three metre throw distance. There are three different brightness settings, with a maximum brightness of 3000 lumens and the contrast ratio with lightsource dimming enabled is 500,000:1, although BenQ doesn't mention the default contrast ratio. There are also multiple different image presets for RPG, FPS and sports games. This is not some little dinky portable projector though, as it weighs in at 6.4 kg and has a typical power consumption of 330 W. It's also not cheap at US$1,999/€1,899, but if it delivers on its promised specs, it should at least be competitively priced.

BenQ Launches a Pair of Portable Projectors With Android TV Support

BenQ might not be your first choice of consumer electronics, but the company keeps churning out some interesting products and its new GV30 and GS50 portable projectors are adding some new features to an already crowded market. First of all, both models have integrated 2.1 speakers and although we doubt you're going to get a cinema level experience from these speakers, it's much better than most of its competitors.

More interestingly, both projectors come with Android TV support, which in itself might not be very unique, but the way BenQ has added this support is unique, as far as we know. It's done via BenQ's QS01 Android TV dongle, which is neatly integrated into the projectors via a hidden compartment. This way it's possible to upgrade the "smarts" once the hardware gets updated or stops receiving updates, a feature we'd like to see on the so called smart TV's out there. The QS01 dongle is based on an unspecified Amlogic SoC, paired with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of eMMC, has dual band 802.11ac Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.2 and is running Android TV 9.0.

BenQ Announces ZOWIE XL-K Generation Monitors

The first XL monitor was launched in 2010. Back then, 3D technology was all the rage and almost every brand used 120Hz panels for 3D display applications. However, the very first XL monitor, the XL2410T, adopted the same panel for a totally different 2D application; esports. This was the result of a collaboration between BenQ's engineers and the original ZOWIE team, a group of veteran Counter-Strike players and enthusiasts. XL2410T was well accepted by the Counter-Strike community, not because of its cutting-edge technology, but because it was the first monitor able to support higher refresh rates at lower resolutions such as 4:3, 640 x 480 or 800 x 600 - the resolutions adopted by many CS players early on. It also had display modes and smart scaling to convince players that TFT LCD displays could compete with CRT monitors when it came to gameplay.

The development of the XL series has been steered by the focus of providing precise and customizable adjustment for players to perform to the best of their abilities in-game because in the world of eSports, players who take this sports seriously are the true stars. New technologies are not introduced unless it can enhance the in-game experience. Over time we have learned that each player has different visual and physical setup preferences. This is why every iteration of the XL series has been designed to help players see more clearly and play more smoothly and comfortably. During this process, BenQ acquired the ZOWIE brand along with the ZOWIE team in 2015. This was done with the objective of furthering the development of professional esports products.

The mouse cable attachment point has also been raised at an angle to lower the chance of the cable dragging on the mousepad. The mice also come with a report rate switch at the bottom to quickly and conveniently switch to your preferred setting. which come equipped with the 3360 sensor, providing gamers with a different mouse tracking feel.

BenQ Announces the ZOWIE XL2546S Monitor

DyAc makes vigorous in-game actions such as spraying less blur. This allows gamers to see the position of crosshair and impact points more clearly which can help with recoil control. DyAc+ is based on this same technology and through panel optimization, provides gamers with a different option for actions such as spray control.

BenQ Launches SW321C 32-inch Monitor

BenQ today announced the latest addition to its monitor family design for professional use. The SW321C, as it is called, is a 32-inch monitor with an IPS panel of 4K (3840×2160p) resolution. The panel itself is a 60 Hz screen with 250 nits of brightness, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 5 ms GtG response time, and it offers 178-degree viewing angles, which is standard for IPS panels. When it comes to the color coverage and the ability to accurately represent them, the SW321C features 95% of the DCI-P3, 99% of the Adobe RGB, and 100% of the sRGB color gamut. It has a 16-bit 3D look-up table (LUT) and features calibration for DeltaE ≤ 2.

The monitor comes with HDR10 specification, however, due to the brightness of 250 nits, it is not capable of performing any serious HDR content editing. Another interesting note is that this monitor supports Hybrid Log-Gamma (HLG) standard, which is an uncommon one. For input, the monitor had support for one DisplayPort 1.4, two HDMI 2.0, and one USB-C port. There is a dual-port USB hub, which has an SD card reader right next to it, making this very useful feature for photographers. Exact pricing and availability of this monitor are unknown, however, it is supposed to hit the market soon.

BenQ Announces the EX2780Q Monitor: 27", 2560 x 1440 IPS, 144 Hz, 5 ms, HDRi, FreeSync

BenQ today announced the release of the EX2780Q monitor, a 27" affair sporting a WQHD (2560 x 1440) resolution across its 10-bit IPS matrix (95% DCI-P3 color space coverage). The monitor offers an 144 Hz refresh rate which, when paired with the usage of AMD's FreeSync, should enable smooth gaming scenarios - though the 5 ms GtG response time gives us a whole lot of pause. The resolution is a good compromise one between 1080p and 4K when it comes to graphics muscle requirements, and should thus make the 144 Hz refresh rates actually attainable in most scenarios (something that just wouldn't happen in a 4K screen).

One of the things about this monitor, however, is the inclusion of an "HDRi" badge, which simply denotes the usage of some of BenQ's proprietary technologies - Visual Edge, Black eQualizer and Color Vibrance - essentially auto-adjustable screen brightness, some sort of proprietary implementation of dynamic contrast, and automatic color balance adjustments. The EX2780Q includes a remote control that allows on-the-fly changes on some of the settings; and I/O is taken care of by 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x DisplayPort, 1x USB-C, and a headphone port. The sound system in this monitor has been upgraded compared to others - it offers a built-in 2.1 setup of treVolo speakers (2x2 watts + 5 watts subwoofer). Pricing stands at $599.

BenQ Announces Matte Black Version of Zowie EC Series Gaming Mouse

This is why we are now releasing the updated EC series in the standard black coating to meet more players' personal preferences. This series will be named EC-1 / EC-2, and like the DIVINA version, uses the 3360 sensor as well as the two large mouse feet design.

BenQ Announces ZOWIE RL eSports Monitor Series

BenQ announces today that through a licensing partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment Europe (SIEE), the ZOWIE RL e-Sports monitor series is coming to PlayStation 4 (PS4). The series, which are the first range of monitors to be officially licensed by SIEE, will help to enhance the e-Sports experience on PS4 , allowing competitive experience through lag-free response time and enhanced visibility at gameplay.

From its inception, the ZOWIE product line has been dedicated to the development of e-Sports equipment to enable competitive gamers to play to the best of their abilities. ZOWIE e-Sports monitors have been widely adopted by not just professional players but also tournament operators for their lag-free instant response, Color Vibrance technology that helps players distinguish small targets from their backgrounds for easy tracking, and Black eQualizer technology that enhances the visibility in dark scenes.

BenQ Intros Zowie RL2755T 27-inch "Console eSports Monitor"

So "console-optimized monitors" are a thing. Apparently eSports players on consoles can't lug their big TVs around to BYOD events (local LAN parties), and so BenQ has come up with the Zowie RL2755T, which has been certified by Sony as an officially-licensed product for the PlayStation 4. The 27-inch monitor features a TN-film panel, with Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels) resolution, 1 ms (GTG) response time, and up to 75 Hz refresh rate.

BenQ makes up for these specs otherwise brushed aside by PC gamers, with a narrow bezel design, low response-time, Black eQualizer (a feature that enhances dark areas of the screen to help you spot enemies), flicker-free brightness adjustments, and dynamic color vibrance that helps you spot distant enemies. The stand offers height and tilt adjustments. Display inputs include two HDMI inputs, and DVI. The company didn't reveal pricing.

BenQ Launches the EX3203R Monitor: 31.5", 2560 x 1440, 144 Hz, FreeSync 2, 1800R Curvature

BenQ announced a new entry to its monitor lineup under the model name EX3203R. It sports a 31.5" VA panel with 2560 x 1440 resolution, and can display frames at up to 144 Hz refresh rates. The slight 1800R curvature is expected to keep all points of the monitor at the same distance from users' eyes. AMD's FreeSync 2 technology is also being employed here, making this a more attractive proposition for gaming scenarios. Since this is FreeSync 2 we're talking about, the effective FreeSync range should be quite high, since support for LFC (Low Frame-Rate Compensation) is an essential part of the certification.

Like most BenQ (and other brands') monitors, BenQ is touting this panel as HDR-compatible, and sporting a HDR-specific luminance mode that achieves a top 400 cd/m² luminance - the basest of the base values allowed by AMD for HDR compatibility. Non-HDR content, however, will default to a top 300 cd/m² luminance. BenQ is quoting 90% DCI-P3 coverage. Connectivity options include 2x HDMI 1.4 ports, 1x DisplayPort 1.2a, 2x USB 3.1 ports, and 1x USB Type-C port. Pricing hasn't been announced at time of writing.

BenQ Announces the EW3270U Monitor: 31.5", 4K, "HDR", AMD FreeSync

BenQ announced availability of their EW3270U desktop PC monitor, which features some well-known quantity in terms of features. The panel itself is a 31.5" affair built upon VA technology, and features 4K resolution (3840 x 2160). There's a 3000:1 contrast ratio, a measly 300 cd/m² brightness (so no, this monitor can't really display HDR content, it can only receive HDR input), a 9 ms response time (with 4 ms gray-to-gray).

There's a somewhat interesting technology at play here though, which BenQ calls Brightness Intelligence Plus Technology (B.I.+ Tech). This tech should somewhat have the unintended effect of wreaking havoc with content: it automatically darkens bright areas so as to reduce contrast with the dark ones. FreeSync was thrown into the display as well, though that should do little to improve its gaming monitor chops. Connectivity-wise, we're looking at a pretty standard 1xDisplayPort 1.2 x, 2x HDMI 2.0, 1x USB-C, and a 3.5 mm audio jack.

BenQ Announces the EL2870U 27.9-inch 4K UHD HDR10 Monitor

BenQ, the internationally renowned provider of digital lifestyle devices, today introduces the BenQ EL2870U, our first 4K UHD monitor with 1ms response time designed specifically for Home Entertainment. The BenQ EL2870U Home Entertainment Monitor features High Dynamic Range (HDR) technology to increase the overall dynamic range between true black and bright white to duplicate what your eyes see in the natural world. Enhanced with the 4K Ultra High Definition resolution offered on the EL2870U, users will experience extraordinary clarity of fine details and textures for the optimal viewing experience, and enhanced screen real estate for visual-intensive work.

Not only does the EL2870U pursue brilliant image performance, it also offers features dedicated to offer a premium 4K Gaming experience. The incredibly fast 1ms Gray-To-Gray (GTG) response time on the EL2870U ensures a much more responsive and fluent in-game experience than a traditional 4K Television, particularly noticeable in first person shooter games. AMD Freesync technology effectively eliminates image tearing, broken frames, and choppy gameplay for a smoother gaming experience for users with an AMD graphics card. By offering High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection (HDCP) 2.2 support, the EL2870U is BenQ's premium choice monitor for 4K Gaming on the Xbox One X and PS4 Pro 4K Game consoles.

BenQ Issues Announcement Concerning the Noise Issue with Their EC-B Series Mice

BenQ has detected that a small percentage of their EC-B series mice produce a noise which is noticeable to some users. The company narrowed down the issue to the high frequency vibrations caused by the Avago 3360 sensor and other internal components. These vibrations, which don't affect the mice's performance, are also harmless to the human body. The issue has been addressed and will not affect future products. But since customer comfort and satisfaction are important to BenQ, the company is offering replacement mice starting mid-March. EC-B mice owners who suffer from the noise issue can contact BenQ's service center directly for further assistance.

BenQ Announces the ZOWIE XL2740 240 Hz e-Sports Gaming Monitor

BenQ announces the ZOWIE XL2740 monitor. The XL2740 is a 27 inch PC e-Sports monitor with native 240hz refresh rate providing gamers with another option to suit their personal preference. It has the same features as the smaller 24.5 inch XL2540 and in order to experience the benefits in-game, people who are interested should make sure their computer is able to generate over 240 frames per second (fps) consistently. Please stay tuned to our social media for information regarding availability in your region.

Benq Introduces Two Zowie Mice Models: EC1-B And EC2-B

Benq Zowie have introduced two new mice to their lineup, in the form of the EC1-B And EC2-B. These are gaming-oriented mice, and the proximity in their naming nomenclature isn't by accident: the only thing these mice differ in is size. The EC2-B has a rated "M" size, whereas the EC1-B should be more adequate for users with somewhat bigger hands, as it's rated a size "L". The two mice feature the top of the line Pixart PMW3360A sensor, but lack any of the integrated software capabilities of other mice.

As a result, these mice are truly plug and play; but due to the lack of software, users can switch only between 400, 800, 1600 and 3200 DPI through the integrated button. Which is, strangely, located in the bottom of the mice (accompanied by the polling rate button - 125, 500 and 1000 Hz - and indicator LEDs), which will make it harder for users who want to be able to adjust DPI speed on the fly. There will also be a CS:GO branded version of these, which forego the black finish and Zowie logo on the base models for a silver-blue coloring, and a gold CS:GO counter-terrorist icon. Pricing is expected to be around the $90 mark.
