BIOSTAR also Shows Non-Mining Motherboards, M500 Series NVMe at COMPUTEX 2018

BIOSTAR at COMPUTEX 2018 also showcased some other bits and pieces of hardware that didn't actually focus on mining. The company's M500 Series M.2 SSD, for example, features relatively high performance (not for an NVMe drive, surely, but against a SATA SSD there's just no competition). The LED indicators are interesting additions, dynamically blinking and giving color-coded information at a glance regarding drive temperature (which may sometimes be relevant in hunting down throttling scenarios), as well as data transmission on the drive itself.

BIOSTAR at COMPUTEX 2018 - Motherboards With a Focus on Mining

At COMPUTEX 2018, we took a detour through BIOSTAR's booth to check exactly what products the company felt like showcasing to the world. The result was a look at the company's (now not so recent) focus on mining products, materialized in their TB-360-BTC Expert motherboard (an H370 motherboard with 16x PCIe 1x slots for graphics card integration via risers). The TB360-BTC+ cuts that number of PCIe 1x ports down to 7, and makes use of Intel's B360 chipset.

Team Group Reveals T-Force Xcalibur RGB Memory

Team Group showcased their long-expected T-Force Xcalibur RGB memory at their Computex booth this year. Staying true to its name, the Xcalibur RGB memory modules feature a unique design with totem elements combined with a heat spreader that resembles a sword's handle. Height of the modules is 88 mm. Team Group will be initially launching the T-Force Xcalibur RGB memory in 16 GB (2 x 8 GB) kits available in 3600 MHz and 4000 MHz configurations. Xcalibur RGB memory modules employ Samsung IC chips, which have been carefully selected and tested to provide the best performance, stability, and compatibility.

ZOTAC Showcases Its Forward-Thinking Gaming Philosophy at COMPUTEX 2018

ZOTAC took to COMPUTEX 2018 to stretch its gaming legs. In one way or another, their products on showcase are meant to allow users to freely enjoy digital worlds, in the way they best see fit. Their mobile, VR GO 2.0 backpack, which carries an Intel 8700T CPU as well as NVIDIA's GTX 1070 graphics, now includes SPECTRA lighting (for all the people looking at you while you enjoy your mobile VR gaming, naturally).

MonsterLabo Presents 'The First' SFF PC Case at Computex 2018

MonsterLabo had their 'The First' small form factor case on display at the Seasonic booth. Measuring in at 200 x 200 x 400 mm, The First only weighs around 10 kg. It can house a mini-ITX motherboard, a graphics card with a length up to 270 mm, an ATX or SFX power supply, one 3.5-inch drive, and three 2.5-inch drives. The case features a high-performance and fanless cooling solution capable of dissipating up to 200 W of heat. The radiator is shared between the processor and graphics card. There is also a single fan mount for a 120 mm or 140 mm fan to increase the cooling capacity to 300 W. For connectivity, The First has two USB 3.0 ports on the front panel. Consumers can fully customize the front panel with different painted and patterned skins and other surfaces like glass, wood, copper or leather.

ID Cooling Also Showcases Its Air Cooler Lineup at COMPUTEX 2018

ID Cooling at COMPUTEX took the opportunity to showcase its air cooling solutions under the particularly flattering lighting in the venue. The highest performance air cooler on show was their SE-207 dual tower cooler, a tried and true design in the air of tower coolers, with a 7x copper heatpipe design moving heat from the copper base to the nickel-plated fin array, which then sees its heat being discharged with the help of two 120 mm fans. The SE-214 RGB features RGB lighting, but has a single, slim tower design with direct heatpipe technology on its four heatpipes. There's a 130 mm fan design, which is very likely better than a 120 mm one (one hopes).

Their SE214-L tower cooler carries three different design philosophies, the Snow Edition, alongside the -W, and -R suffixes (which stand for the color of the LED lighting). The differentiation here is mostly done via the fan lighting, with the same 4-heatpipe design and 130 mm fan. All of these tower cooler designs have universal compatibility with both Intel and AMD platforms.

Cooler Master Unveils the Hyper 212 Concept Cooler

Cooler Master has unveiled a concept version of the renown Hyper 212 CPU cooler. The new iteration has been improved in various aspects to provide better cooling performance. The size of the cooling fins has been extended considerably, which represents a 25 percent increase over the previous Hyper 212 EVO. The concept Hyper 212 will also come with five heatpipes instead of four. Despite all the physical modifications, Cooler Master has assured us that memory clearance won't be an issue. On an aesthetic level, the manufacturer has implanted its RGB-illuminated logo on the new air cooler to sync with the included Cooler Master RGB fan.

ID Cooling Showcases Zoomflow, Dashflow Watercooling Solutions at COMPUTEX 2018

We've made a stop at ID Cooling's boot over at COMPUTEX, where the company was showcasing its (expectedly) cooling-oriented products. There were two families of products in their watercooling portfolio, all of them ranging from 120 mm radiator sizes up to 360 mm, with some differing functionality across families.

ID Cooling's Dashflow is their top-of-the line performance and RGB-oriented product, and can synchronize its RGB color display via users' motherboards. The copper heatsink features a high-performance micro-fin chamber for decreased operating temperatures of the underlying hardware. The tubing is pre-sleeved, and the radiator blocks are all made of high-quality aluminum. The pump in the Zoomflow family has been improved for better cooling performance, says the company, and the PWM function allows for silent, according to cooling-needs operation.

HyperX Showcases Variety of Peripherals, DDR4 Memory at COMPUTEX

HyperX took to COMPUTEX 2018 to showcase a variety of products made to enrich gamers' experiences - with a renewed, 2018-spanning console investment, according to company representatives on site. Also showcased was the Alloy FPS RGB keyboard, which makes use of Kailh Silver Speed Switches (which feature the LED lighting on top of the switch for higher luminosity), full per-key RGB lighting customization, and a minimalistic footprint. There are three onboard profiles, and support for HyperX's driver, Ngenuity).
