Thermalright Intros Peerless Assassin 120 SE White ARGB CPU Cooler

Thermalright today rolled out the Peerless Assassin 120 SE White ARGB, a variant of the Peerless Assassin 120 cooler that the company originally launched in April 2021. For the most part, the new aluminium dual fin-stack cooler is identical to the original, spare for a few changes. As a "white" trim, the cooler is completely whitewashed in a matte white coating that covers the aluminium fins, the nickel-plated and copper heat pipes. The included TL-C12CW-S ARGB fans are a white variant of the TL-C12C-S, come with white frames, frosty impellers, and ARGB illumination. The original's fans were either all-black or all-white. Thermalright also did away with the decorative top-plate for the two fin-stacks, lowering the Z-height of the cooler to 155 mm, compared to 157 mm on the original. Lastly, the new cooler comes with out-of-the-box support for Intel Socket LGA1700, besides AM4 and LGA1200. The company didn't reveal pricing.

Intel RM1 Stock Cooler Tested with Core i5-12400 Reaching 73°C

The RM1 will be included with the upcoming Intel 12th Generation Core 65 W Core i3, i5, and i7 processors including the i5-12400. This mid-tier cooler positioned underneath the Laminar RH1 doesn't feature LED illumination instead opting for a blue colored ring. The cooler was tested by running the AIDA64 FPU stress test for 8 minutes where the i5-12400 reached a maximum reported temperature of 73°C with an average of 70°C. The processor drew a peak of 89 W with an average of 81 W while the RM1 fan reached a speed of 3100 RPM which was described as audible by the tester. The Intel Laminar stock coolers will be announced alongside the new 12th Generation Alder Lake-S desktop processors on January 4th.

The Alder Lake-S processors featuring these new coolers are expected to launch on January 5th.

Cooler Master Launches MasterLiquid Flux AIO Series

Cooler Master launches the MasterLiquid Flux Series, a performance driven AIO liquid cooling solution. The MasterLiquid Flux Series is the materialization of revolutionary cooling performance. With enhancements from the pump to the radiator and fans, the Flux Series delivers precisely tuned performance for superior heat dissipation and cooling capabilities. The Flux Series will launch in two radiator sizes - PL240 Flux and PL360 Flux.

The MasterLiquid Flux Series has been refined with precision to improve on all aspects of the cooler to deliver the best performance on the market. The new Dual Chamber Pump is more compact than previous generations without sacrificing performance, delivering the perfect volume of flow to pressure for impressive cooling. The high speed motor uses a ceramic bearing impeller to force balanced water flow to and from the radiator for ultimate efficiency of heat exchange. Microchannels have been maximized with ultra-thin spaded fins to accurately target heat spots. The copper base surface area has also been enlarged and optimized with perfect base thickness for further accelerated heat transfer.

First Clear Picture of Intel Next-Gen Stock Cooler for "Alder Lake" Processors Surfaces

All six Intel 12th Gen Core "Alder Lake" processor models launched to date are unlocked (K or KF) SKUs, which lack a boxed cooling solution. This is expected to change early next year when Intel fleshes out the lineup with at least 10 new SKUs for the retail segment; and with "Alder Lake" marking the first major change to the mainstream desktop processor cooling mount in over a decade; Intel has the opportunity to radically change its cooling design. We got our first hint at what these could look like back in September, and we now have a clear picture of one of them.

There are three stock coolers Intel is preparing. The RH1 (high) will likely go with the top Core i9-12900 and i9-12900F parts. The RM1 (mid) could be bundled with various Core i7 and Core i5 SKUs; while the RS1 (small) could go with entry-level Core i3 SKUs. Here we have the RM1. Back in the September article, we were staring at low-resolution pictures and trying to guess what the heatsink design could look like. At the time we thought that the pointy structures into which the fan is nestled, are metallic extensions of the heatsink's fins, designed to make use of lateral bleed airflow from the fan. The new picture puts this theory to rest. Turns out, those are little more than an aesthetic touch.

AeroCool Intros Raven 4 ARGB Cooler

AeroCool today introduced the Raven 4 ARGB, a tower-type CPU cooler that relies on a custom design 120 mm fan. The cooler uses a typical aluminium fin-stack heatsink design. Four 6 mm-thick nickel-plated copper heat pipes make direct contact with the CPU at the base, conveying heat through the aluminium fin-stack. This is ventilated by the 120 mm fan, with a unique frame design that guides airflow such that it envelopes the fin-stack along all sides.

The fan takes in a 4-pin PWM connection for its main function, and 3-pin ARGB for its lighting. The fan turns at speeds ranging between 900 to 1,800 RPM, pushing 24.1 to 58 CFM of airflow, with a noise output ranging between 18 to 27 dBA. The fan uses a hydraulic bearing rated for 60,000 hours. The cooler measures 125 mm x 80 mm x 135 mm (WxDxH). Among the CPU socket types supported are LGA1700, LGA1200, LGA115x, and AM4.

Intel Designs New Stock Coolers to go with 12th Gen Core "Alder Lake" Processors

With its new Socket LGA1700 heralding the first change in the physical dimensions of the processor's integrated heatspreader (IHS), Intel will introduce the first major redesign of its boxed retail stock cooling solution in over a decade. The Socket H-series (LGA115x/LGA1200) stock fan-heatsink has undergone several minor redesigns over the years, with regards to heatsink mass, the presence or absence of a copper core, the spiral or radial orientation of the aluminium heatsink forks (which affect surface-area and mass); although with what we're seeing in leaked Intel slides, the company's next stock coolers could look significantly different.

The Intel Laminar L-series fan-heatsinks come in three distinct variants based on the TDP of the processor they're bundled with. The Laminar RH1 (H equals "high") could be bundled exclusively with Core i9 SKUs that have 65 W TDP on the box, but have PL2 values well above 200 W. The Laminar RM1 (M equals "mainstream" or "medium"), will be bundled with Core i7, Core i5, and Core i3 SKUs that have the same 65 W TDP, but slightly lower PL2 (or at least a trade-off for higher noise). The Laminar RS1 (S equals "small"), targets entry-level Pentium and Celeron chips.
