Dell UltraSharp UP3214Q and U2414H Monitors Start Selling in the US

Dell has now released in its home market two UltraSharp Series monitors, the 31.5-inch UP3214Q and the 23.8-inch U2414H. Previously released in Hong Kong, the UP3214Q is Dell's very own IGZO-powered offering boasting a native resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. In addition to the Ultra HD picture, the monitor features 176/176 degree viewing angles, 99% AdobeRGB and 100% sRGB color coverage, an 8 ms (GTG) response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio (dynamic contrast ratio tops 2,000,000:1), 350 cd/m2 brightness, a 4-port USB 3.0 hub, and HDMI, DisplayPort and mini DisplayPort inputs.

MSI Shows Off Gaming Series Mini-ITX Z87 Motherboard and GeForce GTX 760 Card

Courtesy of MSI's Facebook page we can now have a pretty good look at two of the company's upcoming Gaming Series products, two compact components known as the Z87I GAMING AC and GTX 760 GAMING OC ITX.

The Z87I GAMING AC is a mini-ITX motherboard that's powered by the Intel Z87 chip and features Military Class 4 components, two DDR3 memory slots, five SATA 6.0 Gbps ports, one PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slot, Killer E2200 NIC Ethernet, 7.1-channel audio (with Audio Boost technology), and even 802.11ac WiFi support.

NEC Introduces the MultiSync EA274WMi IPS Monitor

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the MultiSync EA274WMi, the latest addition to its high-end IT desktop portfolio. Corporate environments and other industries will benefit from this performance-driven WQHD resolution LED-backlit model.

Designed to enhance work performance, this widescreen model features IPS panel technology with wide viewing angles (178° horizontal/vertical), touch-sensitive menu controls and ergonomic adjustability. The LED backlighting of the EA274WMi allows for a slimmer profile, lighter weight and increased power savings compared to previous generation models. The unique ControlSync technology allows users to control up to six EA274WMi displays in a multi-monitor configuration. Upon establishing one unit as the master, users are able to control many performance attributes of the multi-monitor setup in unison through the single monitor.

Club 3D Launches the Radeon R9 270 royalQueen

Like all the other AMD board partners, Club 3D has today introduced a Radeon R9 270 graphics card. Club 3D's R9 270 bears the royalQueen moniker and comes equipped with a custom cooling solution, namely the dual-slot, dual-heatpipe CoolStream fansink.

The R9 270 royalQueen features DirectX 11.2 and OpenGL 4.2 support, 1280 Stream Processors, a GPU clock of 930 MHz (955 MHz Boost Clock), a 256-bit memory interface backed by 2 GB of GDDR5 VRAM set to 5600 MHz, and dual-link DVI, HDMI (1.4a) and DisplayPort (1.2) outputs. The card's price tag was not revealed.

ASUS Announces GTX 780 Ti Graphics Card

ASUS today announced GTX 780 Ti, a graphics card powered by the brand-new GeForce GTX 780 Ti graphics-processing unit (GPU) and boosted by exclusive GPU Tweak technology.

The GeForce GTX 780 Ti GPU is powered by 25% more CUDA (Compute Unified Device Architecture) cores and benefits from a boosted clock speed of 928 MHz - both significant increases on its predecessor that enable ASUS GTX 780 Ti to deliver superb gaming performance.

NVIDIA Announces Market Availability of GeForce GTX 780 Ti

NVIDIA announced the market availability of its GeForce GTX 780 Ti graphics card. Based on the same "GK110" silicon as the GTX TITAN, the GTX 780 Ti features its full complement of 2,880 CUDA cores, 240 TMUs, 48 ROPs, and a 384-bit wide GDDR5 memory interface, holding 3 GB of memory. The core is clocked at 875 MHz, with a maximum GPU Boost frequency of 928 MHz; the the memory is clocked at a staggering 7.00 GHz (GDDR5-effective), at which the memory bandwidth is 336 GB/s.

The GeForce GTX 780 Ti is based on the same PCB and cooling solution as the GeForce GTX 780, draws power from a combination of 6-pin and 8-pin PCIe power connectors, features a PCI-Express 3.0 x16 bus interface, and a combination of two DVI, and one each of HDMI and DisplayPort connectors. The card is 4-way SLI capable. NVIDIA is pricing the GeForce GTX 780 Ti at US $699.99, about $150 pricier than the Radeon R9 290X, but close to $300 cheaper than the GTX TITAN. NVIDIA is also running a free-game scheme that will see buyers of the GTX 780 Ti get Steam keys for Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, Batman: Arkham Origins, and Splinter Cell: Blacklist; and a coupon that shaves up to $100 off an NVIDIA Shield purchase.

Dell's UltraSharp UP3214Q Ultra HD Monitor Gets Priced

Showcased back in July, Dell's UltraSharp UP3214Q 4K monitor is now finally making its way to market, with Hong Kong apparently being the first country to get it, officially at least. The UP3214Q is a 31.5-inch model that features an IGZO panel with an Ultra HD resolution (3840 x 2160 pixels) and 176°/176° viewing angles, 99% AdobeRGB and 100% sRGB color coverage, an 8 ms (GTG) response time, a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and 350 cd/m2 brightness.

Dell's display also packs a media card reader, a 4-port USB 3.0 hub, HDMI, DisplayPort and mini DisplayPort connectors, and a stand enabling tilt, swivel and height adjustment. The UltraSharp UP3214Q comes with a three-year warranty and is priced at HK$41,899 (that's about 5,400 US dollars).

EIZO Releases the FORIS FG2421 240 Hz Gaming Monitor

EIZO Corporation today announced the 23.5-inch FORIS FG2421, the world's first gaming monitor with a 240 Hz refresh rate. The FORIS FG2421 also features a low input lag and gaming preset modes that were developed with professional gamers to make it ideal for first-person shooter, racing, fighting, and other fast-action genres.

The FORIS FG2421 comes with a new feature called Turbo 240 that surpasses the 120 Hz refresh rate of conventional gaming monitors. Display specialist AOC launches three new 61 cm (24") monitors in a 16:10 format. VESA Begins Development of micro-DisplayPort Connector Standard

Responding to the growth of portable and ultra-thin computing devices, the Video Electronics Standards Association (VESA) today announced that it is defining a micro-DisplayPort connector standard. Designed to be physically smaller than VESA's existing DisplayPort and mini-DisplayPort connectors, the new micro-DisplayPort connector will target smartphones, tablets, ultra-thin notebooks and other mobile systems that require an extremely compact connector to drive external video displays.

ViewSonic Expands Ergonomic VG39 Enterprise Display Series

ViewSonic Corp., a leading global provider of visual solution products, is expanding its VG39 ergonomic display series with the availability of the new VG2039m-LED. NEC Display Introduces New 30-Inch Color Accurate MultiSync PA Series Display

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announced today the 30-inch MultiSync PA302W color accurate display and color critical PA302W display solution with SpectraViewII calibration software and sensor. The models come in both white and black cabinets, which have been redesigned and are now 34 percent slimmer than previous models.

Built using a cutting edge GB-R LED backlight, the PA302W provides a wider color gamut and more color control than a conventional white LED backlight and consumes 44 percent less power than comparable CCFL backlights. The display can be seen in Booth No. 4238 at Print 13, a graphics communications industry event running September 8-12 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

ASRock Unveils its First Socket FM2+ Motherboards Based on AMD A88X Chipset

ASRock unveiled its first socket FM2+ motherboards, ready for the upcoming A-Series "Kaveri" APUs, and backwards-compatible with A-Series "Richland" and "Trinity" ones. Among the most notable of ASRock's FM2+ products are the FM2A88X-Extreme6+ and the FM2A88M-Extreme4+. The former is a feature-rich ATX form-factor offering, while the latter isn't too far behind with its feature-set, albeit in the micro-ATX form-factor. The FM2A88X-Extreme6+ features a 10-phase VRM to power the APU socket, which is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots, and two PCI-Express 3.0 x16 slots (electrical x8/x8 when both are populated). A third PCI-Express x16 is electrical gen 2.0 x4, and wired to the A88X FCH. Two each of PCI-Express 2.0 x1, and legacy PCI make for the rest of the expansion.

Storage connectivity on the FM2A88X-Extreme6+ includes seven SATA 6 Gb/s ports, and one eSATA 6 Gb/s. Display connectivity includes dual-link DVI, DisplayPort 1.2, and possibly HDMI 2.0. 8-channel HD audio with optical SPDIF output, gigabit Ethernet, and six USB 3.0 ports. Moving on, the FM2A88M-Extreme4+ features a simpler 6-phase VRM for the APU socket, which is wired to four DDR3 DIMM slots, and a single PCI-Express 3.0 x16. The other long slot is electrical gen 2.0 x4. One each of PCI-Express 2.0 x1 and legacy PCI make for the rest of its expansion. Display connectivity includes dual-link DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI (2.0?). Four USB 3.0 ports, 8-channel HD audio, and gigabit Ethernet make for the rest of it.

Wortmann Debuts the 2770W 27-Inch IPS Monitor

Wortmann AG has this week launched a new TERRA Series monitor, the 27-inch 2770W. This model makes use of an AH-IPS panel and features an LED backlight, a native resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels, 400 cd/m2 brightness, a dynamic contrast ratio of 50,000,000:1, a 6 ms (G2G) response time, stereo speakers, and VGA, DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort connectivity.

The TERRA LED 2770W is backed by a two-year warranty and costs €599.

NEC Display Solutions Introduces the EA273WMi IPS Monitor

EIZO Releases the FlexScan EV2216W 22-Inch Monitor

The FlexScan EV2216W is the latest addition to EIZO's EcoView series of monitors which combines ecological features, visual ergonomics and a five-year warranty for a low total cost of ownership. The FlexScan EV2216W is the first EcoView monitor with a 22-inch screen and 1680 x 1050 native resolution (16:10 aspect ratio).

The brightness dimming methods used with conventional LED-backlit monitors cause some users to see flicker which can result in eye fatigue. The FlexScan EV2216W incorporates an EIZO-developed solution that regulates brightness to make flicker unperceivable without compromising color stability. Even at just 1% of the maximum brightness the monitor remains flicker-free.

HP Releases the EliteDisplay E221c IPS Monitor

HP has this week introduced a new 'built-for-business' monitor, the EliteDisplay E221c. This model features a 21.5-inch IPS (in-plane switching) panel, an LED backlight, a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, a 7 ms (gray-to-gray) response time, a dynamic contrast ratio of 5,000,000:1, VGA, DVI and DisplayPort connectors, and a stand allowing for tilt, swivel, pivot and 150 mm height adjustment.

HP's monitor also comes with built-in (rear firing) speakers, a 720p webcam with dual microphones, and a 2-port USB hub. The EliteDisplay E221c has a three-year warranty and costs $219.

GIGABYTE Introduces the H81.AMP-UP Motherboard
