Ducky Also Announces the Secret 2 Mouse and Hurricane Chairs

Ducky in the recent years have been diversifying their portfolio beyond keyboards, and yet sticking within the realm of peripherals. In one final update of what Ducky brought to Computex this year, we do the same by taking a look at these other offerings. Ducky unveiled their first mouse, the Ducky Secret, nearly three years ago and then brought out the Secret M which was lighter, and smaller. Both used the (then) popular and still excellent Pixart PMW3310 sensor, and this year sees the debut of the new Secret 2 mouse.

Nearly everything gets a makeover here, beginning with the use of a Pixart PMW3360 sensor with a max DPI of 12000, RGB lighting on the side and even a small LCD screen on the back that can display the current mouse settings by toggling between DPI, polling rate and LOD. The Secret 2 uses Omron micro switches and Alps encoder roller as with the previous Secret mice from Ducky, and also retains the PBT plastic construction that should deliver more resistance to finger oils and stains compared to standard ABS plastic used by most mice today. Seen below are some images of the mouse on what appears to be an unannounced, unnamed Ducky mousepad (which is an upcoming product as pointed out by the comments section here based on a social media post from Ducky). More to follow on the chair after the break.

Ducky Adds to their Keyboard Lineup with the One, Zero and Blade Series

Ducky had more to show at Computex this year besides their flagship keyboards, with some additions to their more budget-friendly Ducky One 2 (second iteration) and the entry-level Zero series, along with the Blade keyboard finally making a full appearance. The One 2 series received a new member to the family with the One 2 Mini that comes in either an ANSI 61-key or an ISO 62-key form factor. As with the rest of the One 2 series, these get a dual-color bezel too, albeit plastic instead of metal as with the Shine 7. The One 2 Mini series will come in many color versions, each of which further has multiple Cherry MX switch options as well as backlighting options (none, single color, RGB backlit). All of them retain the excellent PBT doubleshot injected keycaps with seamless legends we saw before, and these also have front printed legends (albeit laser etched owing to difficulty in making these doubleshot injected along with the top legends) to help configure layers that compensate for the fewer number of keys. Another feature to note is the detachable USB Type-C connectivity, with onboard functionality and the three-stage height adjustment being retained from the rest of the series. Images of the new One 2 Mini keyboards are seen below along with the relatively new One 2 RGB, and there is more to read after the break.

Ducky Reveals the Shine 7 and Year of the Dog Keyboards

Ducky shared a large booth with VARMILO at Computex this year, and they made good use of it showing off a lot of new products that require multiple posts to cover in good detail. We begin with the flagship Shine 7, the hotly-anticipated successor to their Shine 6 RGB keyboard (a review of which is incoming here very soon). Ducky had received some flak from their loyal customer base for using a plastic case for the Shine series recently, and they were quick to acknowledge this was an error on their parts and that the Shine series should always showcase the best of their technology inside and out. As such, the upcoming Shine 7 uses a thick zinc alloy case, and the case itself comprises of two pieces such that the available color options for the keyboard will always use dual color-anodized exteriors. Seen below are the various color combinations showcased at the event, and Ducky is eager in collecting feedback on what the customer wants them to adopt for the final retail versions as it would not be feasible to produce every single option. Be sure to comment on the story if you have a preference, and read past the break for more.

Ducky Teases 'Blade Air' Keyboard with Cherry MX Low Profile RGB Switches

German switch maker Cherry officially announced their MX Low Profile RGB switches at CES 2018 a few days ago. Ducky Channel also seized this opportunity to promote their upcoming Ducky Blade Air mechanical keyboard which features the new low profile switches. Thanks to the slim design, the Ducky Blade Air stands just 22 mm tall, but boasts a full feature set that includes various RGB lighting modes, customizable LED zones, USB N-key rollover support, floating keycap design, Doubleshot keycaps, and macro support. The Ducky Blade Air allows consumers to connect the keyboard to their computers using an old-school USB cable or via a wireless Bluetooth connection. The keyboard works in a Windows or Mac environment, as well as with Android and iOS mobile devices.

Ducky Shine 3 Unveiled

DuckyChannel, the well known mechanical keyboard manufacturer from Taiwan, took the wraps off its new Shine 3 keyboard this week at Computex (Taipei) where it displayed pre-production versions of what seems to be an aesthetically augmented Ducky Shine 2. No details were given in regard to any functional upgrades, probably because at this stage things are nowhere near finalized, however from the pictures below and the video here we can clearly distinguish three different versions of the keyboard, a beautiful looking aluminium tray version, a green camo version with complementary green key caps and a vanilla black version as well. Probably the most distinctive feature of the new keyboard consists in the myriad lighting modes available to the user, and it is also the feature to surely make it to the production version, no such certainty for the aluminum tray or the camo color scheme.
