NVIDIA GeForce 9900 GTX Card Design Exposed

While there's still enough time until the GeForce 9900 series shows up, hardware enthusiasts are trying to chop up every bit of information they can find. Today a few 3D sketches were leaked, showing a GT200 based card in computer 3D environment. The GT200 based card has a total of 16 memory chips onboard (8 chips are on the back side of the PCB), and will probably feature 1GB of GDDR3 memory. The card will be 10.5-inch long and come with a dual slot cooler manufactured by Cooler Master (model TM71). Other details are still a bit washed out, so I won't report them here. If you want to read them anyways, please be sure to check this page.

NVIDIA GeForce 9900 GTX and 9900 GTS GT200 Powered Graphics Slated for July Launch

NVIDIA is prepping the already confirmed GT200 graphics chip for an early July launch several sources reported last week. In order to counter ATI and their RV770 GPU which is almost complete, NVIDIA will launch GT200 powered GeForce 9900 graphics cards hoping to take the performance crown from ATI once again using old but proved tactics. The first two models from the GeForce 9900 series will be 9900 GTX and 9900 GTS instead of the previously speculated GeForce 9900 GT.

NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GX2 Reaches EOL in Three Months?

This information from Expreview may dissapoing many GeForce 9800 GX2 owners if true. NVIDIA is about to EOL (end-of-life) the GeForce 9800 GX2 line-up in just three months, as a result of two new GT200 cards - the single GPU GeForce 9900GTX and the dual GPU GeForce 9900 GX2. One of the GT200 cards will have similar performance and production cost as the GeForce 9800 GX2, which will force the manufacturer to cut down the "older" card. There will be no rebranding for 9800 GX2, like the GeForce 8800 GS which will become 9600 GSO, but just a sudden death. Meanwhile, details of the new GT200 graphics are still unknown.

NVIDIA GeForce 9900 Series Set for July Launch?

Word is circulating that just four short months after the launch of GeForce 9800 GTX and GeForce 9800 GX2, NVIDIA will welcome its new high-end graphics cards to the world. Logically their names will be GeForce 9900 GTX and 9900 GX2. Both cards will be based on the GT200 GPU. Details are all you want I'd say, but unfortunately there's not much to know. According to VR-Zone, GeForce 9900 GTX is to replace 9800 GX2 and this gives us a clue that a single GT200 card will actually outperform a dual G92 card. The story also suggests that the GT200 will still be manufactured by the old 65nm process, and the PCB used for the new cards will probably be P651. The release date for both cards is also said to be in July. I know this comes just a day before April Fools' Day, but the report has been posted all over the web, so we can assume it's fairly legit.
