AOC Readies 10 New Widescreen Displays

AOC Display looks to cash in on the back-to-school shopping season, the company has lined up no less than 10 new widescreen LCD display models for release. This includes displays sized at 18.5-inch, 19-inch, 21.5-inch, 22-inch and 23-inch, with resolutions ranging from 1366 x 760 to 1920 x 1080. Of these, four models use LED backlit for illumination, rest use the more common CCFL. The contrast ratios (dynamic) for these are 60,000:1 for the CCFL-lit ones, and 20,00,000:1 for the LED-lit. Response time values are either 2 ms or 5 ms, and connectivity includes D-Sub and DVI. Some models have special features such as stereo speakers and USB hubs. AOC did not reveal the exact model names or prices yet.

Acer Unveils the S273HL LCD Monitor

Building on the success of its ultra-slim and award winning Full HD LED display series, Acer expands the S3 series with the new S273HL LCD, the epitome of sophisticated design and top-notch performance endowed with cutting-edge technologies such as ultra-fast response time, stunning contrast ratio (12,000,000:1), two HDMI port and an ample 69 cm (27") panel.

The Acer S273HL LCD monitor flaunts a razor-thin depth of 21mm, creating a minimalist, professional look. It is encased in a classy black bezel and features a unique asymmetrical shape. Adding form to the elegantly simple design is a cylinder hinge on the rear and an L-shaped base with brushed-metal finish, accented by an LED light that glows in soft blue when the power is turned on. Thanks to its distinctive shape the base can easily accommodate the keyboard, saving precious space, plus it skillfully integrates a speaker for added functionality.

NEC Readies 27-inch Professional LCD Monitor

NEC is preparing a new professional-grade 27-inch LCD monitor called MultiSync Reference 271. The 271 uses a 10-bit P-IPS panel that give 98% Adobe RGB coverage, for a wide color gamut. The panel has a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees. Its frame design enables pivot at swivel adjustments.

The panel has a resolution of 2560 x 1440 (aspect ratio 16:9), with 5 ms response time. Its static contrast ratio is 1000:1, with a maximum brightness of 360 cd/m². It takes input from D-Sub (analog) and DVI-D or dual DVI. Backed by a 3-year warranty, the MultiSync Reference 271 is up for pre-order for under 1800 EUR.

Iiyama Intros LED-Backlit ProLite 21.5-inch Display

Japanese display maker Iiyama released its ProLite E2271HDS-B 21.5-inch monitor. This model has a display resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and uses LED-backlit illumination, which further cuts down its thickness to 18.5 mm at its thinnest point. The panel has a response time of 5 ms, contrast ratio of 1,000:1 with 50,000:1 ACR; and brightness of 250 cd/m². It takes display input from DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. The LED-backlit consumes lesser power than CCFL illumination used in traditional LCD screens, making the ProLite consume 21W for operation. The ProLite E2271HDS-B will cost 22,800¥ (about US $258) in Japan, when it releases to market in July.

ViewSonic Introduces VG28 Series Eco-Friendly Widescreen Monitors

ViewSonic Corp., a leading global provider of computing, consumer electronics and communications solutions, today announced the launch of the VG28 series, its latest family of ergonomic widescreen LCD monitors with Energy Star 5.0 and EPEAT certifications. Samsung Develops USB-Powered 18.5-inch Display

Samsung hit a new "low" in terms of monitor power consumption, and developed an 18.5" display that draws all its power from USB ports. The new yet to be named display was shown off at the SID 2010 event. The 18.5" display uses a TN-film panel with a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels, 250 cd/m² maximum brightness, 1,000:1 contrast ratio, and LED backlit illumination. The panel needs just 6.3W of power, which it draws from two USB 2.0 ports. It also draws display connection from one of the two USB ports. Samsung's USB-only LED-lit LCD displays will debut in 2011.

Mitsubishi Electric Releases New Diamondcrysta WIDE 23-inch Monitor

Mitsubishi Electric released the Diamondcrysta WIDE RDT232WX. This 23-inch LCD display comes in two variants, that with glossy screen, and that with a matte (anti-glare) screen. The panel has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels with 3.8 ms of response time (GTG), 1000:1 contrast ratio (5000:1 dynamic), 300 cd/m², and 3W stereo speakers. Inputs include DVI, D-Sub, and HDMI. The variant with the glossy screen will be priced at US $464 and that with the matte screen at $484, when the two release later this month in Japan.

ViewSonic Unveils Green LED-Backlit Full-HD Monitor

ViewSonic's latest monitor jumps the 'green' (eco-friendly) bandwagon. The VA2250wm is a 22 inch (21.5 inch viewable) LED-illuminated LCD display which pushes the power envelope down to 26W during typical usage, which the company claims to be 40% lesser than tradidional LCD displays with CCFL-illumination. At its size, the panel is full-HD capable (native resolution of 1920 x 1080), has a response time of 5 ms, brightness of 250 cd/m², and contrast ratio of 1,000:1 (dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000,000:1). The display has 2W stereo speakers inbuilt, it has a piano-black bezel with a dash of clear acrylic. It takes display input from DVI and D-Sub. Priced at around $225, the VA2250wm is expected to ship in late May.

Zalman Readies Trimon 24-inch Full HD 3D Monitor

Zalman is readying a new 24-inch 3D LCD monitor, the Trimon ZM-M240W, which is a design upscale of the 21.5-inch ZM-M215W. The display is bundled with a pair of stereoscopic glasses, and lets users switch between 3D and 2D display modes. The TN-panel used has a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 (full HD), with a response time of 5 ms. It has a dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1, and input connectivity which includes DVI and D-Sub. Expected to launch sometime in May, the Trimon ZM-M240W will cost around 380 EUR.

Iiyama Intros Two ProLite 22-inch Full HD Monitors

Iiyama introduced two affordable 22" LCD monitors under the ProLite series, starting at 144 EUR. This includes the E2208HDD-1, and the B2209HDS-1. Both monitors have a resolution of 1920 x 1080 (full-HD), while the E2208HDD-1 has a response time of 5 ms, with dynamic contrast ratio of 10,000:1 (1,000:1 static), brightness of 300 cd/m2, and connectivity which includes DVI and D-Sub, the ProLite B2209HDS-1 is snappier with 2 ms response time, 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, D-Sub, DVI and HDMI for input, and built-in 2W stereo speakers. The B2209HDS-1 goes for around 198 EUR.

ASUS Completes the Designo Monitor Series with LS246H

ASUS today introduced the latest addition to its existing range of Designo Series LCD monitors-the LS246H. Together with the preceding MS Series, the LS246H continues to deliver the perfect combination of style and performance. Taking inspiration from the binary state, the Designo Series incorporates the contrasting elements of the numbers 1 and 0, and straight lines and curves into an ultra-slim profile. The Designo Series monitors feature ring stands with Ergo-Fit Technology, allowing users to make tilt angle adjustments with just one finger. They come with a 50,000:1 contrast ratio, 2ms response time, and ASUS Splendid Video Intelligence Technology to deliver stunning visuals in Full HD 1080p. On top of that, their eco-friendly designs use 50% less hazardous materials during the manufacturing process, and delivers power savings of up to 40%.

Dell Intros G2410H LCD Monitor

Dell rolled out its latest business LCD monitor, the G2410H. This model succeeds an older, similar model, the G2410. It has a 24-inch TN panel screen with WLED backlit illumination. The LCD uses arsenic-free glass. Power management and ergonomics is taken care of by an ambient light sensor that adjusts the monitor's settings to best suit the environment it's in. When in sleep-mode, the display consumes 0.15W of power (under 20W typical consumption). Its stand allows height and angle adjustments. Specifications include a native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels, 5 ms response time, 250 cd/m² brightness, and contrast ratio of 1,000:1 with dynamic ratio of 1,000,000:1. It takes input from DVI and D-Sub. Sold with a 3-year warranty, the G2410H is priced at $339.

New Cases, Coolers and 3D Displays From Zalman

Zalman is actually in a local hotel suite, showing off some very interesting products. They are showcasing their 3D monitor in the 21.5 inch variant with FullHD resolution. A 24 inch version can also be had, while a 27 inch LCD and a 32 inch 3D TV LCD are also in planning. We also got a good look at their upcoming VGA coolers for ATI and NVIDIA cards. Due to the different placement of GPU cores, there are now two different coolers with the same general structure. We were told, that the final NVIDIA version will be green, while the red variant is final and will be intended for ATI products.

NEC Display Solutions Adds Eco-Friendly Desktop Display to AccuSync Series

NEC Display Solutions of America, a leading provider of commercial LCD display and projector solutions, announces today the 17-inch AS171 to the AccuSync Series, replacing the popular ASLCD73VX-BK display. Samsung Releases Two High Contrast SyncMaster Displays

Samsung introduced two high contrast LCD monitors - the SyncMaster 70 Series F2370H and SyncMaster 80 Series F2380MX. The latter targets the casual user, while the former targets professionals. Both are 23-inch displays with native resolution of 1920 x 1080 (Full HD). The selling point here is a dynamic contrast ratio of 150,000:1 and static ratio of 3,000:1. Both use HDMI for input apart from the usual DVI. Both displays further feature a wide viewing angle of 178 degrees. The F2370H and F2380MX are expected to be priced at around 640€ and 675€, respectively, when the release later this month in Korea.

NEC Display Solutions Introduces Entry-Level Large Format Digital Signage Displays

We posted their press release here, but have now managed to get a few more infos for you. The unit will only ship in silver, comes with a 3.5" SATA hard drive and sports multiple USB connectors in the back along with a network jack. It has the same foot print as an AppleTV, but is slightly taller, while the casing seems to be made of aluminum. Besides that, we snapped an image of an external hard drive with an LCD screen. While this may not be anything out of the ordinary, the technology used in the display allows it to function just like eInk. It does not require any power to change the state of the screen, so that you will always know how much free space is available, even when it is not connected.

Cool IT Systems Introduces New Line of CPU and GPU Coolers

CoolIT System has a bunch of new CPU and GPU coolers. They are showing a full range of new coolers for the CPU, starting with the ECO A.L.C. which now places the pump right into the cooling base, increasing compatibility with cases. The unit has an MSRP of $74.99 and should be available now. The next step up is the Vantage A.L.C, which incorporates a display and all the electronics on the CPU bracket. The LCD is a programmable 84x48 pixel screen with a dynamic, custom color backlight and 2.4 GHz wireless communication module. Two buttons on the Vantage module provides a user interface for optimizing all chassis fan speeds, RGB case lighting, LCD Backlight color along with monitoring and alarm triggers. The Vantage also features the so called ESP (Extra Sensory Peripherals) wireless technology which enables the cooler to be controlled and monitored through CoolIT's Maestro software and USB wireless controller.

On the GPU cooling front, we got a good look at the OMNI A.L.C. This unit has the same wireless system and features interchangable plates between the water block and GPU. This means that you can simply exchange the this plate when upgrading your graphics card.

Samsung Launches Premium LED Monitor, Combining Sleek Design and Energy Efficiency

Samsung Electronics America Inc., a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics Corporation, the number one worldwide brand of LCD display products, today announced the launch of its latest premium LED monitor, the 23 inch Samsung Syncmaster PX2370. The PX2370 will be available in April from Samsung resellers at a price of $369, giving customers outstanding performance combined with sleek, attractive design and energy-efficient technology.

"With its slim 18mm depth and eco-sensitive design, the PX2370 leads the way with the smallest footprint possible, both on the desktop and the environment," said Young Bae, director Display Marketing, Samsung Information Technology Division. "Consumers no longer have to choose between a high-performance, feature-laden product and green technology."

BenQ Intros Two LED-Backlit HD Displays

BenQ will release two new full-HD LCD monitors to the market, the 21.5 inch G2222HDL and 24-inch G2420HDBL. The two are characterized by LED backlit illumination, and share nearly identical specifications which include glossy black frames, native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixel TN panels, 5 ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio with 5,000,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, brightness of 250 cd/m², and connectivity which includes DVI and D-Sub. The G2222HDL and G2420HDBL are expected to be priced at £149 and £169, respectively, available from this week.

LG Display Rolls Out 3D LCDs with Full HD Resolution

LG Display Co., Ltd., a leading innovator of thin-film transistor liquid crystal display (TFT-LCD) technology, announced the world's first commercial launch of 3D LCD panel boasting full HD resolution. The new product is a 23-inch 3D monitor LCD panel for use with shutter glasses that delivers full HD resolution. It offers picture quality that is almost twice as crisp as HD 3D displays currently available in the market.

The panel adopts the company's proprietary technologies such as "high performance 3D exclusive controller" capable of processing more than twice as much image data as other HD 3D LCDs and "copper bus line" to improve on the resolution and picture quality. In addition, the panel is able to reproduce both 2D and 3D images, meaning that users can switch back and forth from 2D and 3D modes.
