Featuring 1440x900 native resolution, the 16:10 display also boasts a 5ms response time, 1,000:1 contrast ratio and 300 nits of brightness. DisplayLink and Acer today announced the availability of a new Windows Vista Aero-compatible USB computer monitor, with integrated DisplayLink technology. The 22-inch B223 screen, part of Acer's ergonomic B series family of monitors, is now shipping in Europe. With 1680x1050 widescreen resolution, Acer's new display has integrated USB ports to facilitate multiple displays easily. Using DisplayLink's DL-160 network display chip, up to six Acer B223 monitors can be connected to a single PC or laptop, via a standard USB 2.0 connection.

iZ3D LLC, designer, marketer and enabler of advanced 3D visualization systems, has been quietly but actively promoting the adoption of 3D display technology since 2007. Now the company's breakthrough approach, widely hailed by users as delivering a premier 3D experience, is being priced to make it affordable to casual and enthusiast gamers.
Effective December 1st, the manufacturer's suggested resale price for the company's 22-inch widescreen switchable 3D/2D monitor will be $399.00. The new price has already been reflected at various online e-tailers with plans for availability at in-store retailers to be disclosed in the coming weeks.

Samsung has come up with a new 23.6-inch, slick and stylish widescreen LCD monitor, the SyncMaster 2494HS. This one takes a step forward in overall look and feel, going away from the rather plain Samsung glassy design. The SyncMaster 2494HS features a modern 1920x1080 16:9 wide resolution, appropriate for movie lovers, an exceptionally high 50,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, 300cd/m2 brightness and a 5ms response time. Vertical viewing angles for this screen reach 160-degrees and horizontal angles 170-degrees. There are also two 3W stereo speakers built-in. Inputs include HDCP-compatible HDMI, DVI-D, and single analog RGB. The Samsung SyncMaster will go on sale in mid-December in Japan for around 40,000 yen ($423).

Samsung today released five new SyncMaster LCD monitors that use the glossy-black design theme the company has been fascinated with, for some time now. Their screen-sizes range between 15.6 inch and 23 inch. The SyncMaster 633NW is a 15.6 inch display, while the 933SN is an 18.5 inch one, both with a native resolution of 1360 x 768 pixels.

The 2233SW and 2333SW come with a native resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, and are sized at 21.5 and 23 inch respectively. The 2133SW is a 20 inch panel with resolution of 1600 x 900 pixels. All the above monitors sport a response time of 5 ms, and inputs that include DVI-D, and D-Sub. The monitors are HDCP capable. Prices in Japan, range between US $187 and $312.

I doubt someone expected this to happen so quickly, but Samsung's recently covered 23-inch 2342BWX high-resolution LCD display won't be the only one on the market for long, because Dell is also getting ready to ship the brand new SP2309 soon. Just like the Samsung, Dell's upcoming LCD will boast the remarkable 2048x1152 QWXGA resolution on a 23-inch 16:9 viewable display size. The remaining specs include dynamic contrast ratio of 1000:1, 300 cd/m² brightness, 98% color gamut, 2ms response time, 2-megapixel camera with microphone and VGA/DVI and HDMI inputs. The Dell SP2309 should start selling later this month. It's price is estimated at around $419.99.

Samsung is today adding a new 23-inch 2342BWX widescreen LCD display, that boasts an ultra thin black bezel and a 2048x1152 QWXGA resolution. That's in fact the world's first 23-inch display with such unusual resolution. The 16:9 screen is dedicated for office work and is large enough to fit two A4 pages side by side as well as the vertical Vista Sidebar. Samsung claims that the 2342BWX eliminates the need of a second display in the office, with such a wide resolution it can fit almost everything. Other specs that enrich the monitor even more, include a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio, a 5ms gray-to-gray pixel response time and a very small pixel size (0.249mm). Samsung will launch the display first in Korea for the equivalent of $295 (₩399,000), then it will spread the model across the world. I almost forgot, don't count on receiving the display with the girl from the picture. ;)

Dell refreshed today its monitor line-up by introducing the two brand new S2209W and S2309W LCD displays. First leaked some time ago, the two monitors are finally going into the market so you can enjoy them. The sleek, glossy frame S2209W is a 22-inch LCD widescreen that boasts full HD 1920x1080 resolution, fast 5 ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 300 cd/m2 brightness, and 160° / 170° viewing angles typical for most TN panels. In terms of connectivity the S2209W features both analog and DVI-D (HDCP) inputs, but it lacks of HDMI. The S2309W has exactly the same specs as the 22-inch S2209W with the one difference that it boasts a bigger 23-inch matrix. Dell is now selling both displays for $239 and $299 respectively.

NEC Display Solutions of America introduced today its new MultiSync P Series with the 22-inch P221W LCD monitor, the first display in this new family of desktop monitors. The P221W offers professionals working in color-critical environments the opportunity to take advantage of a professional grade desktop display without breaking their budgets. The P221W display can be seen at the Photo Plus Expo (Booth No. 263) today through October 24 in New York.

Samsung has released a new 22-inch CX-2233GW LCD display today. It comes in a sleek white finish and offers a 22-inch wide diagonal, 1680x1050 resolution, 300cd/m2 brightness, 1,000:1 contrast ratio (dynamic 20,000:1), 5ms response time and a DVI HDCP compatible port. That's pretty much everything about the CX-2233GW, it's an ordinary 22-inch LCD with "new" look. You will be able to pick up one for under €200 when it becomes available in Korea.

After a long period of stagnation, Apple today unveiled a brand new 24-inch LCD monitor for all Apple lovers. The new LED Cinema Display features a stunning 24-inch LED-backlit widescreen display with built-in iSight video camera, mic, and speakers in an elegant, thin aluminum and glass enclosure. Other specs include a native resolution of 1920x1200, a 3-port USB hub and a new Mini DisplayPort. Expect the 24-inch LED Cinema Display to become available in November for $899. Graphics designers, professionals or users with deep pockets out there looking for a high-end LCD monitor are advised to read this post, as NEC Display Solutions of America is launching today its new 24-inch MultiSync EA241WM widescreen and 19-inch MultiSync EA191M standard-format LCD monitors. These are the third and fourth MultiSync EA Series products to be introduced, following the launch of the 26-inch EA261WM in June and the 22-inch EA221WM in September. The wide-format MultiSync EA241WM is a premium enterprise display that features 5ms response time, 1000:1 contrast ratio, 400 cd/m² brightness and full 1080p high-definition 1920x1200 native resolution. The screen offers DVI-D and VGA 15-pin D-Sub interface options. If offers a height, pivot, tilt & swivel adjustment, and also has integrated down-firing speakers with headphone jack. Dell has silently launched one more slave up its LCD monitor line-up, the 23-inch Dell S2309W. Base specs of this 23-incher reveal a 1920x1080 wide resolution, making it Dell's second 16:9 full HD display after S2409W. Response time is measured to be 5ms, brightness is 300 cd/m2, and contrast ratio is 1,000:1. The S2309W connects to the PC via DVI or analog VGA. It follows the new trend by matching the resolution found on modern TVs, so you may think this would be the perfect choice for movie lovers, if it did not lack HDMI connectivity for some reason. The display is currently only on Dell's Canadian site here. There is no information on pricing and availability yet.

Whether you're a graphics designer, computer professional or just a person like me who wants to know everything, it's good to know about the immediate existence of these new LaCie professional LCD monitors. It's a whole new 700 series of monitors actually, consisting of the 20-inch LaCie 720, 24-inch LaCie 724, and the 30-inch LaCie 730. Time to get to the cool stuff, the whole new line-up is capable of offering ultra-wide gamut of up to 123 percent of Adobe RGB colourspace that furthers for the reachnes of the colors that are being reproduced. Lian-Li Industrial Co. Ltd has launched the TR-5 Fan Bus and Temp gauge combo unit. The innovative device takes up one 5.25 bay, and has a full frontal LCD, showing the various fan speeds and temperatures within your chassis environment. It comes in two flavors; one metallic silver, the other matt black.

Allowing up to four different temperatures (0 °C to 99 °C ~ +/-2 °C) and fan speeds, ranging from (1) CPU, (2) VGA, and (3 & 4) system 1 & system 2 fans, the TR-5 is more than adequate for your cooling needs. In addition the device has an Alarm / Date and Time function, with settings for either °C or °F temperature display modes at the touch of a button.

The TR-5 works on 12V DC, with 0.45A maximum current 3 pin fans. At standard factory settings, the fan speed will be regulated according to pre-set temperature ranges. These can be adjusted. When a manufacturer wants to make an LCD television or monitor, they take glass, pour fancy chemicals on in, heat it to 300 degrees centigrade, and remove all alkaline. However, this glass is none too cheap: ¥6122 ($53/£26/€37) per square meter. Samsung recently found a possible alternative. By using a new process that they won't go into great details about, Samsung has managed to make LCD television glass out of the same stuff that beer bottles and windows are made of: soda-lime glass. The main scientific advance that allows Samsung to do this is a temperature reduction in the production of glass, preventing the discoloring of glass that would ordinarily occur with soda-lime glass. If Samsung puts this in production, their LCD products would be approximately 6% cheaper according to analysts: a huge advantage when compared to the competition.
