Viewsonic Quietly Intros 24-inch VG2427 1080p LCD Monitor

A day ago Viewsonic quietly added the VG2427 24-inch model to its range of LCD monitors. The VG2427 boasts native resolution of 1920x1080 pixels with 16:9 aspect ratio. The panel has a 20,000:1 dynamic contrast ratio as well as 300cd/m2 brightness. The monitor's stand is height-adjustable, also hidden are two stereo speakers and a USB hub with pair of USB 2.0 ports.Priced at $499, the Viewsonic VG2427 is available for purchase now.

no higher than full hd makes this a dull screen.

Seriously, that the first LCD screen have not that great resolutions, ok, but come one, cant newer ones get higher resolutions than this?

Is this 120Hz refresh rate? If not, it's kinda expensive. My Acer 24" LCD is a better price.

High relative price, 1080 resolution, -displayport.

Sad to see this making it to market. You can find a 24" monitor for half the price at 19x12 res, 2-5ms response, higher cd/m2, displayport, and lack of undoubtedly poor quality speakers.

The only reason I see this making a Press Release on TPU is so we, the savvy hardware guys, can shoot it down as a steaming pile of poo.
