The lineup starts with the new ThinkPad Helix, a complete business 2-in-1 Ultrabook that elevates thin and light design and takes multimode computing to the next level with the latest state of the art hardware. Today at IFA 2014 ASUS showcased its newest Zenbook series ultrabook, a 13.3-inch model dubbed Zenbook UX305 which comes equipped with a 14 nm Intel Core M (Broadwell) processor. The all-aluminum UX305 is 12.3 mm thick, it weighs just 1.2 kg and has a QHD+ (3200 x 1800) display, a 128 GB or 256 GB solid state drive, Bang & Olufsen speakers, 802.11ac WiFi, three USB 3.0 ports, and an HDMI output.

The Zenbook UX305 will ship later this year in two color versions - Obsidian Stone and Ceramic Alloy. No word on pricing.

In addition to debuting the Chromebook 2, Toshiba today revealed another low-cost mobile machine, the Satellite Radius 11 convertible laptop running Microsoft's Windows 8.1. Seen below, Toshiba's device features a 11.6-inch display with a native resolution of 1366 x 768 pixels and 10-point touch support, an Intel Celeron and Pentium processor, 4 GB of DDR3L memory, a 500 GB hard drive, 802.11 b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, an SD card slot, and a HDMI output.

The Satellite Radius 11 is said to cost £329.

This November Dell is set to let loose a new Alienware-branded gaming machine, a thin and light notebook dubbed Alienware 13. As its name suggests, the upcoming laptop packs a 13-inch display which, depending on configuration, can have a native resolution of (only) 1366 x 768, 1920 x 1080, or 2560 x 1440 pixels.

The Alienware 13 will also feature an ultra-low voltage Intel processor, a GeForce GTX 860M graphics card, up to 16 GB of RAM, up to two SSDs (HDD options will also be available), Qualcomm Killer 802.11ac WiFi, a TACTX keyboard, and Klipsch audio. No word on pricing yet but since it's Alienware, one might want to start saving already.
