HyperX Adds Pulsefire Warp to its Wireless Gaming Mouse Range

HyperX is readying its brand new Pulsefire Warp wireless gaming mouse, and it may have jumped the queue in front of the recently revealed Pulsefire Haste 2 wired and wireless models. The Pulsefire Warp seems to be an exclusive item for sale only on the MechKeys online store for the time being, and there is no word about it becoming available at more mainstream outlets. The Haste 2 variants have been spotted out in the wild, but only a few lucky people managed to snag these mice early - that initial batch was either a time exclusive preview or issued in error by parent company Hewlett Packard, via its official Ebay outlet. HyperX has stated that the official Haste 2 launch window is scheduled for next month.

The Pulsefire Warp looks to sit below the Haste 2 Wireless in terms of specifications - it lacks the latter's high-end optical sensor (PAW 3395), fancy primary switches and a shell engineered to be very light in weight (74 g vs. 60 g respectively). This indicates that it is a more budget friendly offering, coming at a release price of $65.99, yet the Haste 2 Wireless will have an MSRP of $79.99, and the Haste 2 Wired's MSRP will be $59.99. HyperX is likely targeting different segments within the gaming mouse buying market with its Pulsefire range - the Warp will appeal to a more general audience with an offering of solid performance, a transparent shell aesthetic paired with RGB lighting. In contrast, the Haste 2 variants are stripped back in appearance and tuned for maximum performance - so enthusiasts and hardcore competitive types will be eager to get a hands-on with these.

AJAZZ Announces Year Of The Tiger Themed Limited Edition AC081 75% Mechanical Keyboard

AJAZZ is on a limited edition roll, first with the cheese-themed AC067 65% keyboard and now a zodiac-calendar themed take on its popular AC081 75% form factor keyboard. Given this is the year of the Tiger as per the Chinese zodiac, I fully expected to see the likes of Ducky to come up with a limited edition as they have for a while now. But it appears this year other brands have decided to take on the arguably easy formula, and I have a review of another such Tiger-themed keyboard in the works. AJAZZ's version uses a gasket-mounted structure with a thick CNC-machined aluminium alloy chassis which undergoes a combination of anodizing and electrophoresis processes for a matching textured finish, and PBT keycaps with dye sublimed legends. As with the cheese-themed keyboard, AJAZZ has once again worked with Kailh to bring out a limited edition Year of the Tiger switch that is a linear switch rated at 45 gf actuation at 1.8 mm travel. This is a heavy keyboard weighing 1.8 Kg and available for purchase from Mechkeys for $219.

AJAZZ Introduces AC067 Cheese-themed 65% Mechanical Keyboard

June 1 is celebrated as Children's Day in China and a few other regions, and keyboard manufacturer AJAZZ decided to commemorate the event by releasing a special edition of its AC067 65% keyboard targeting kids and fans of the Hanna Barbera show Tom and Jerry. This keyboard clearly is shaped to look like a block of cheese as most people would have thought of growing up—I know I certainly did—with the keyboard case especially adopting the same yellow color with inward dimples courtesy CNC machined aluminium alloy that is then given an anodized finish. This is complemented by a special edition yellow and white PBT dye sub keycap set that works well with the design, including with some novelty keycaps present on the modifiers. The cheese theme even extends to the switches with a collaboration done with Kailh to use a linear and smooth "Yellow Cheese" mechanical switch paired with Kailh hotswap switch sockets to allow further customization. The keyboard uses a gasket mount structure to help ensure it's not just a cheesy take on a keyboard, and of course has per-key RGB lighting too. This is a chunky keyboard weighing 1.5 Kg and will be certainly a unique peripheral device in more ways than one. If you are interested, this is currently available for pre-order from Mechkeys for $219.
