QNAP Unleashes 16-bay TS-1677X Ryzen-Powered NAS

QNAP Systems, Inc. today released the new enterprise-class TS-1677X Ryzen NAS with twelve 3.5-inch drive bays, four 2.5-inch drive bays, and driven by the absolute performance of an AMD Ryzen 8-core processor, optimized storage efficiency with Qtier auto-tiering, and SSD caching. The AMD Ryzen processor, with Turbo Core of up to 3.7 GHz, can greatly boost virtualization performance. The TS-1677X can also perform as AI-oriented big data storage when used with a high-end graphics card and QNAP's " QuAI" AI developer package.

QSAN Introduces XCubeNAS XN8016R and XN8024R NAS Servers

QNAP Releases Affordable 9-bay TS-932X NAS with Dual 10GbE SFP+ Ports

QNAP Introduces New TVS-882BR-RDX NAS Models

QNAP Systems, Inc. today unveiled new TVS-882BR RDX models (including the TVS-882BR-RDX and TVS-882BRT3-RDX) that integrates the Tandberg RDX QuikStor internal SATA 5.25-inch docking station (8813-RDX) for installing removable and portable RDX hard disk cartridges. Compared to standard external hard drives, the Tandberg RDX cartridge features a rugged dust-proof design that protects data for a longer period of time and allows users to easily transfer data with the cartridges.

Toshiba Also Announces the P300, L200, X300, and N300 Hard Drive Series

Toshiba Electronic Devices & Storage Corporation ("Toshiba") today announced six new series of internal hard drives for the consumer market: P300 Desktop PC Hard Drives, L200 Laptop PC Hard Drives, X300 Performance Hard Drives, and N300 NAS Hard Drives.

The P300 Desktop PC Hard Drive series offers high performance ideal for home and business users and is available with up to 3 TB of storage capacity. Toshiba Announces V300 and S300 Series Hard Drives

Toshiba America Electronic Components, Inc. (TAEC), a committed technology leader, announces two new surveillance and video streaming Hard Drives to the consumer internal lineup, the S300 and V300. The S300 surveillance Hard Drive series is available in capacities up to 10 TB and offers support for up to 64 high definition camera streams. Synology Introduces the 12-bay RackStation RS3618xs NAS

Synology Inc. today launched RackStation RS3618xs, a 12-bay rackmount NAS providing excellent performance, effortless capacity scaling and optimized virtualisation solutions for expanding businesses. QNAP Unveils the QXG-10G1T, a 5-Speed 10GBASE-T NIC for NAS or PC

QNAP Systems, Inc. (QNAP) today unveiled the QXG-10G1T, a 5-speed PCI Express 10GBASE-T/NBASE-T NIC that supports 10GBASE-T/1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX and also 5GBASE-T/2.5GBASE-T (IEEE 802.3bz; NBASE-T) speeds. When used with Cat 6a cables, the QXG-10G1T can greatly improve network connection speeds to maximize transmission performance.

The QXG-10G1T is equipped with the Aquantia AQtion AQC107 NIC that supports 10/5/2.5/1Gbps and 100Mbps speeds. The RJ45 connector design also allows users to use their existing cables. ASUSTOR Responds to Intel Meltdown and Spectre Vulnerabilities

ASUSTOR Inc. is releasing ADM to version 3.0.5 to fix the Meltdown security vulnerability in Intel CPUs. The models receiving an update are: AS3100, AS3200, AS5000, AS5100, AS6100, AS6200, AS6300, AS6400 and AS7000 series. For the AS6302T and AS6404T NAS devices, ASUSTOR is releasing a BIOS update to patch the Meltdown and Spectre vulnerabilities. Other x86 NAS will be patched as soon as Intel releases a patch.

For ASUSTOR's other models, they will be patched as soon as an updated Linux kernel is released. On non-Intel CPU models, ASUSTOR is also continuing to work with the other relevant CPU manufacturers. ASUSTOR takes security very seriously. When further information is released, customers will be informed through the appropriate channels.

Synology Launches Their 16-bay RackStation RS2818RP+ NAS

Synology Inc. today launched RackStation RS2818RP+, a 3U 16-bay NAS providing large storage capacity with affordable total cost of ownership (TCO) for small and medium-sized businesses. Seagate Technology Reports Fiscal Second Quarter 2018 Financial Results

Seagate Technology plc (NASDAQ: STX) today reported financial results for the quarter ended December 29, 2017. For the second quarter, the Company reported revenue of $2.9 billion, gross margin of 30.1%, net income of $159 million and diluted earnings per share of $0.55. On a non-GAAP basis, which excludes the net impact of certain items, Seagate reported gross margin of 30.4%, net income of $431 million and diluted earnings per share of $1.48.

During the second quarter, the Company generated $850 million in cash flow from operations and $773 million in free cash flow. Cash and cash equivalents totaled approximately $2.6 billion at the end of the quarter. There were 285 million ordinary shares issued and outstanding as of the end of the quarter.

"Achieving year-over-year revenue and profitability growth and significant cash flow generation in the December quarter reflects Seagate's solid execution and competitiveness of our storage solutions portfolio, particularly in the cloud-based environments. Synology Inc. today announced the official release of three major packages, Drive, Office, and Moments.
