Zalman Intros ZM700-SV Mainstream PSU

Zalman introduced the ZM700-SV, a 700-Watt (continuous) PSU for performance gaming PC builds. It boasts of 80 Plus Silver efficiency rating, single +12V rail design, dual-forward switching, interleaved active PFC, and Japanese-made components. Compliant with the latest PSU standards, including ATX 12V v2.3, EPS 2.92, and ErP Lot6, its protection IC covers most hazards, including over/under voltage/current/load and short-circuit. The ZM700-SV features fixed (non-modular) cabling that's sufficient for a gaming PC build with up to two graphics cards (four 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors). It is contract-manufactured by Enhance Electronics. Selling now, the ZM700-SV from Zalman is priced around US $120.

SilverStone Readies the Zeus ZM1350 1,350 W Power Supply

Already seen at several trade shows, SilverStone's 1,350 W Zeus Series power supply is now (finally) preparing its retail arrival. Codenamed ZM1350, this unit measures 150 (W) x 86 (H) x 230 (D) mm and features a peak power output of 1,500 W (1,350 W continuous), a fully-modular design, an 80 Plus Silver efficiency rating, Active PFC, six 12V rails (there's also a single rail mode), an 80 mm dual ball bearing fan, and a MTBF of 100,000 hours.

Unfortunately SilverStone hasn't announced a price tag for the Zeus ZM1350.

Corsair AX860i and AX760i Digital PSUs Launched, AX-Series Gets 80 Plus Platinum

Corsair officially launched two new DSP-enhanced AXi series modular PSUs, the 860-Watt AX860i and 760-Watt AX760i. In addition, Corsair released the AX860 and AX760, which are variants that lack the DSP-control and Corsair Link Support. All four models are 80 Plus Platinum-certified. The AX860i and AX760i pack monitoring chips and DSPs that connect to the motherboard over USB 2.0/1.1 internal header, letting the PSU interface with the included Corsair Link software, that lets you monitor temperature, power input/output, load, efficiency, PSU fan speed (with manual control), and PSU rail virtualization, features which have been exclusive to the top-end AX1200i till now.

All four models ship with six PCIe 6+2 pin power connectors, twelve SATA power connectors, eight 4-pin Molex connectors (with a Berg adapter), two 8-pin (4+4 pin) EPS/ATX connectors, apart from the customary 24-pin ATX connector. The units are cooled by a 140 mm fan that is completely spun down when the PSU load is below a threshold. The AX860i, AX860, AX760i, and AX760, are priced at US $249.99, $219.99, $229.99, and $199.99, respectively.

Corsair AX860i and AX760i Digital PSUs Detailed, Listed

Corsair plans to expand its AXi line of digital PSUs with two new models, the AX760i and AX860i. The two are characterized by 80 Plus Platinum compliance, and Corsair Link support, which gives you digital control thanks to its onboard DSPs. In addition to the various ATX, SATA, and PCIe standard connectors, the PSU connects with your system over a USB 2.0/1.1 internal header, interfacing with the Corsair Link 2 software. The software gives you real-time monitoring of power-draw (load), efficiency, fan-speed, and ambient temperature (within the PSU casing); and manual control over the fan-speed.

Both the 860W AX860i and 760W AX760i come with enough cabling for gaming PCs with three to four graphics cards (six to eight 6+2 pin PCIe power connectors), anywhere between 12 to 14 SATA power connectors, around eight 4-pin Molex power connectors, and two 8-pin EPS connectors (for use with enthusiast-grade motherboards). The AX860i is listed by Canadian retailer Canada Computers & Electronics for CA $235, while the AX760i is listed by German retailer Alternate.de for 219€. These could be pre-launch prices. The AX860i and AX760i are slated for launch a little later this week.

Update: JonnyGuru posted some pictures of the AX860i. The pictures reveal the fully modular PSU to be contract-manufactured by Flextronics.

Revised Corsair Enthusiast Series PSUs Can Run Completely Fanless

Corsair unveiled a trio of Enthusiast Series V2 (TX-series) PSUs in Japan, which feature Hybrid Silent Fan Control, a revised thermal management measure that spins down the fan completely under low loads, and begins to spin it up only after a thermal/load threshold is crossed. These PSUs feature the same casing as the modular TX-series V2 models (such as TX-750M), but feature completely fixed cabling. Among the PSUs launched are the new (improved) TX-650 (CP-9020038-JP), TX-750 (CP-9020042-JP), and TX-850 (CP-9020043-JP). The three models are 80 Plus Bronze-compliant, and otherwise feature the same specifications as the Enthusiast Series V2 models in the market, elsewhere.

SilverStone Readies the Strider ST60F-PS 600 W Power Supply

At the end of this month SilverStone is set to introduce a new Strider Series power supply, a model called ST60F-PS which delivers 600 W and features an 80 PLUS Silver certification (80 Plus Gold at 230Vac). SilverStone's PSU measures 150 (W) x 86 (H) x 140 (D) mm and also has a fully-modular design, a single 12V (49A) rail, a 120 mm fan, and a MTBF of 100,000 hours.

The ST60F-PS is expected to cost about $120.

Rosewill Announces SilentNight and Tachyon PSUs

Rosewill announced the SilentNight 500W fanless PSU and Tachyon 550W. The two 80 Plus Platinum-compliant PSUs were launched earlier today. The SilentNight 500W appears to be based on a Super Flower platform, and uses a chunky aluminum heatsink that makes direct contact with hot components such as FETs, to cool itself, without needing a fan. It features sufficient cabling for a mid-range dual-GPU gaming PC, including a pair 6+2 pin PCIe connectors, 8-pin EPS, 24-pin ATX, and up to six SATA power connectors. It uses a partially-modular cabling layout.

The Tachyon 550W, on the other hand, uses a slow (quiet) temperature-controlled 140 mm fan to cool itself. It packs an identical contingent of cables to the SilentNight 500W. Both models feature single +12V rail designs, modern regulatory compliances, and protection against a variety of electrical anomalies, such as over/under voltage, overload, short-circuit, overheat, etc. The two will occupy price points around US $100.

ECS Announces Its First Ever Modmen PC Modding Competition

Elitegroup Computer Systems (ECS) today announces it is teaming up with Thermaltake, G.skill and various media partners to announce its first ever worldwide Modmen PC modding competition. Scythe Unveils Gouriki 4 Series PSUs

Scythe Japan unveiled the Gouriki 4 series PSUs. Available in modular (Gouriki4-P) and non-modular (Gouriki4) variants, the series includes 500W, 600W, and 700W models. The PSUs are 80 Plus Bronze-certified, and pack most common protection features. Common to all models is a dual 12V rail design. The 500W model uses two 20A rails, the 600W model uses 35A + 25A rails, while the 700W model uses 55A and 25A rails.

The 500W model has sufficient cabling for a performance single graphics card build; the 600W for a mid-range dual-GPU build, while the 700W is fit for a high-end dual-GPU build. Built with Japan-made components, the PSUs use 140 mm temperature-controlled fans, which are designed to be quiet. The new PSUs are slated for October 17.

Zalman introduced the ZM-LE series of entry-level PSUs for gaming PCs. Available in 400W and 500W variants, the ATX 2.3-compliant PSUs feature dual 12V rail design and twin forward switching topology, with secondary protection IC that protects against a variety of conditions, such as over/under voltage/load and short-circuit. The PSUs meet ErP 2010 Lot 6 energy-efficiency guidelines.

Featuring fixed and sleeved cabling the ZM-LE variants provide enough connectivity for an entry-mainstream gaming PC with a single graphics card. The 400W variant features a single 6-pin PCIe connector, while the 500W ups that with 6-pin + 8-pin. The units are cooled by a 120 mm temperature-controlled fan. According to the source, the ZM-LE series is originally manufactured by Fortron. The ZM-LE 400W sells for US $36, while the ZM-LE 500W can be had for $46.
