Intel Releases Arc GPU Graphics Drivers 101.6077 Beta

Today Intel released its latest Arc GPU graphics drivers, with version 101.6077 beta hitting our servers. This latest version brings game-ready support for titles like Dead Rising Deluxe Remaster, Final Fantasy XVI, Frostpunk 2, and God of War Ragnarok. Besides adding support for latest titles, the 101.6077 beta drivers also fixed issues like corruption on certain reflective surfaces during gameplay of The Last of Us Part I (DX12), and corrupted lines on certain textures during gameplay of Age of Empires IV (DX12). Interestingly, few issues persist like Diablo IV (DX12) intermittently crashing while toggling Ray Tracing settings during gameplay, and Doom Eternal (VK) exhibiting intermittent flickering corruption in the game menu and during gameplay. The Last of Us Part I Gets AMD FSR 3 Support

Naughty Dog, developer of "The Last of Us Part I" released a small patch for the Windows PC version of the game, which adds official support for FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 (FSR 3). This includes support for both FSR 3 Frame Generation, and FSR 3 Super Resolution. Today's update takes the count of games that officially support FSR 3 up to 19. There are unofficial ways to mod most popular games to support AMD's latest upscaling tech, thanks to the algorithm being freely available through AMD's GPUOpen platform.

The Last of Us Part I Gets New v1.0.5.1 Patch

Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have released the v1.0.5.1 Patch for the PC version of The Last of Us Part 1, bringing general and AMD GPU stability improvements, and fixing issues seen with all Intel Arc GPUs.

According to the rather short release notes, the newest update brings general stability improvements, fixes crashes on boot that were seen on all Intel Arc GPUs, as well as brings stability improvements for some AMD GPUs during an extended playthrough. Naughty Dog was keen to note that they are still closely watching for reports to support future improvements and patches, as well as actively optimizing, working on game stability, and implementing additional fixes that will be included in future updates.

The Last of Us Part 1 Update v1.0.5 Improves CPU Performance

Naughty Dog and Iron Galaxy have released a fresh update for the PC version of The Last of Us Part I, Update v1.0.5. This is the ninth update for the PC version of the game, and it brings further performance improvements, reduced shader building times, and improves texture fidelity on low and medium presets.

According to the release notes, the newest update further reduces shader building times, but, more importantly, includes optimized code to improve global CPU performance, which has been plaguing the game since the launch. Naughty Dog was keen to note that the newest patch triggers a full shader rebuild and that you need to have the most up-to-date version of the graphics driver, especially since the latest AMD Software: Adrenalin Edition v23.4.3 includes a fix for "longer than expected shader compilation time" in The Last of Us Part I.

The Last of Us Part I Patch Released to Address Crashes and Shader Compilation Issues

Naughty Dog has released its first v1.0.1.5 patch for the PC version of The Last of Us Part I, which fixes several performance issues that plagued PC users since the launch. The PC port of game leaves much to be desired, with a lot of reported crashes, optimization issues, and general gameplay issues, which led to a rather low rating on Steam.

Naughty Dog has already released an official statement over at Twitter, acknowledging issues and scrambling to fix them. "The Last of Us Part I PC players: we've heard your concerns, and our team is actively investigating multiple issues you've reported. We will continue to update you, but our team is prioritizing updates and will address issues in upcoming patches."
