Assembly

Assembly is easy as long as you follow the basic instructions detailed in the user's manual. The user's manual is illustrated and contains written assembly instructions in twelve languages, as well as the warranty information. If you do somehow manage to lose or destroy the manual, you can download it from their official website.

Initial Impression

To begin with, my Duke's color, Punch Red, is a very peculiar one. With its combination of lighter and darker brownish hues, it looks like a sandblasted pair of jeans, which could fit into an office or a working space. However, its sporty design makes it a better fit for gaming spaces. The combination of non-woven fabrics and microfibers is responsible for its unique look and the suede fabric touch-feel of its upholstery. However, as mentioned before, it is a man-made textile. The non-woven fabric is made out of staple fiber (short) and long fibers that have been combined in a chemical, mechanical, heat, or solvent process. There are several types of microfibers, but those widely known are made from polyesters, polyamides (e.g., nylon, Kevlar, and Nomex), or a combination of polyester, polyamide, and polypropylene. Microfibers are preferred when it comes to making mats, knits, and weaves for apparel, upholstery, industrial filters, and cleaning products.

Like many others, the Duke's design was inspired by sport bucket seats, which has it sport round edges. While wide for large users, its armrests are rather narrow for a chair of such dimensions.

There isn't a whole lot of cushioning to the backrest, though the seat appears to have enough. The two provided pillows for neck and lumbar support are round and seem to be soft and voluminous.

Even though priced below chairs we have reviewed to date, it includes the ergonomics of most chairs. The four color combinations and visual differences between the PU and carbon fiber layers still make it an attractive choice, at least at first glimpse. It also comes with a nylon five-star base with 60 mm nylon casters for users of up to 150 kg (330.69 lb).
