Aerocool DUKE AeroSuede Gaming Chair Review - For Tight Budgets

User Experience »

Backrest

The backrest is 56 cm wide and 83 cm long (22 x 32.6 in.). It is broad, which will allow it to cater to large players, and its prolific edges are contoured outward.

The inner side of these contoured edges has been embellished with PU stripes that in large parts imitate carbon fiber.

The frame is made out of steel that is covered in high-density foam. However, the backrest's profile is pretty slim in comparison to the base of the seat. Additionally, more than half of its front is embroidered in a beige diamond stitching pattern.

The AeroSuede upholstery looks attractive, and the opening for the cushion straps also looks nice. Aerocool states that the upholstery is breathable, which is why it does not have any open pores. Considering how many hours a gamer will spend in this chair, this is an essential feature.

The backrest's recline ranges from 90° to 180° and is adjusted with a lever below the right side of the seat. The maximum tilt angle is more than enough
as it makes the chair look like a bed.

This chair also has a rocking mechanism which lets it rock back and forth freely through your weight. By turning the knob under the seat clockwise, you may adjust the resistance of this rocking mechanism. A lever on the right side, again under the seat, locks the backrest in place.

On the backrest, the beige company name and logo make several appearances. The company name has been embroidered on the right PU stripe, and the company name and logo have been embroidered on the headrest's front and rear.

Base and Seat

The base of the seat is both 56 cm (22.1 in.) long and wide, but its edges might create some issues because they are raised up quite a bit. Its height from the floor ranges from 47 to 57 cm (18.5 to 22.4 in.).

The chair's total height from the floor ranges from 125 cm to 135 cm (49.21 to 53.14 in.) and can be adjusted with the lever under the right side of the seat. Like the backrest, the contoured edges are covered in PU stripes on the side facing inward, which makes for an interesting, modern look, and given PU is durable, it might just keep the sides of the base of the seat from peeling off too soon.

More than half of the seat's surface is covered in the same embroidered pattern as the backrest, and it is divided into triangular halves. The remaining front of the upholstery nicely shows off the sandblasted brownish color of my sample. The entire chair's seam is the same beige color. The seat's cushioning has more high-density foam than the backrest, so it is more voluminous. Lastly, there is no mention of the company name on the base of the seat.

I love paying attention to details and did come across some issues. Aerocool's website shows the chair's plastic bits with black plastic covers that hide the bolts which secure the backrest to the base of the seat. However, my sample unfortunately did not have any black plastic covers.

Neck and Lumbar-support Cushions

The neck-support cushion is round and smaller than the lumbar-support pillow. The company name had been embroidered on it in beige, and it has a strap to secures it around the headrest.

Both cushions are covered in the same material as the chair's upholstery—even the seam is in the same color as the rest of the chair. These cushions have plenty of padding—it feels as though both have been filled with the same foam as the seat.

The lumbar-support cushion is of the same shape as the neck cushion but larger. Both the company logo and name are on this cushion.

Armrests

The armrests are two dimensional (2D), which means they can move up and down as well as clockwise. They are made out of PU for longevity and padded, which makes them soft enough to comfortably support your arms. A dent has been put into the middle for a more secure hold and increased comfort.

Each armrest is 8 cm wide and 28 cm long (3.14–11 in.). The armrests are long enough, but not that wide.

Five-star Base, Gas Lift, and Caster Wheels

The Duke AeroSuede is priced competitively, which is why its 350 mm five-star base is made out of nylon instead of steel. its edges are flat and appear to be sturdy enough to support the weight limit of 150 kg (330.69 lb).

The BIFMA X5.1 approved class-4 gas lift is responsible for all height adjustments and can support a user of up to 150 kg (330.69 lb). The gas cover shroud is thin and protects the gas lift from dirt. The 60 mm nylon casters are wide and easily slide on a flat floor. However, rolling on a carpet is another thing because of the friction that makes it difficult to roll across.
