Gaming has for many years now been a sport with a strong and continuously growing fan club, which creates the necessity for new products that make for long and comfortable gaming sessions or easier, quicker wins. Aerocool has also enrolled into this field by introducing their ThunderX3 brand dedicated to designing gaming products. That having been said, the mother company still produces several gaming products, such as the Duke AeroSuede chair, which makes a fine first impression mainly because of the way its upholstery looks. There are four color options—Ash Black, Steel Blue, Tan Grey, and Punch Red—so you get to choose the one that best suits your taste, and all options cost the same. All color combinations are in dark shades, neither playful nor intense, which means they also fit nicely into more "serious" gaming environments.

The upholstery feels like suede leather, but is out of a man-made material that contains synthetic microfibers and non-woven materials. It give off the impression of suede leather at first, but you do eventually realize that it is is a fabric. This also means that it won't last as long even if you treat it well. For cleaning, I suggest warm water and mild dish soap, or clear hand soap. Anything else can destroy it.

The backrest is wide, but more high-density foam should have been added to cover the steel frame. With the backrest at the 180° recline, this chair look like a bed, but you should not use it as one because it is not very stable in that position, especially if you sit on the front half of the seat. Speaking of the seat, it is as comfortable as a couch because it has plenty of cushioning. It's also pretty wide, which may be why the Duke AeroSuede is not all that stable. A larger star base would possibly fix this issue by providing a more stable base to the large sitting area. The 2D armrests are comfortable but narrower than what I am used to for chairs with such a high weight limit. Overall build quality is alright, which isn't unusual for affordable chairs. Several stitching flaws are unfortunately also indicative of that. Moreover, if you flip the base over, you will notice that the upholstery is attached to the frame, which you will probably also find unsatisfactory. However, don't forget that you will have to make compromises in this price range.

Since this chair has a very comfortable seat, I decided to use it in my DIY projects area. Using it as a main gaming chair would not be wise as the Duke AeroSuede is not stable enough for sudden and aggressive moves, which can happen as you game. Now, if your gaming style isn't very aggressive, you most likely won't have to deal with these issues.

Update May 11 2020: Regarding the stability issue, Aerocool notified us that all batches beyond the initial one were adjusted. The seat was pulled back by 5 cm relative to the wheels, which should help with stability when sitting on the front half of the sitting base.
