A Closer Look - Inside

To gain access to the interior, simply remove the thumbscrews holding each panel in place, before prying them off the chassis. The interior looks quite similar to what we have seen in other cube cases with a horizontal board layout. You can access the interior freely through both sides, which should come in handy when connecting all the cables.

The large blue LED fan in front is set to push cool air into the chassis. You will also find four plastic trays for your hard drives below the motherboard. Above the fan is the 5.25" drive bay—it may be removed to give way to a proper liquid-cooling setup.

In the bottom of the rear are the 120mm fan and the PSU bay, both of which bear no surprises. There is, however, a little PCB on the floor for up to 5 fans which are then controlled by the small switch at the back of the chassis.

The motherboard tray looks like one from a mATX tower that has been placed on a surface horizontally. It comes equipped with a 120mm exhaust fan above and an opening underneath the CPU area, which is nice to have, though you probably won't get to it with the PSU in place. There are five grommet-covered openings for cable-routing purposes, regardless of whether you use a mini-ITX or mATX board.

Taking a look at the ceiling, you can clearly see how any fan placed there would get in the way of the optical drive bay. Also, the metal mesh cover comes with its own dust filter.

All the cables within the AI7m are of the standard variety and come with black sleeving to keep with the interior's overall color scheme.
