Fan Noise and Thermals (Subjective)

The Aorus 17 has been purposefully designed to produce minimal fan noise in all situations, and this definitely holds true under the default fan curve. What I found interesting is that at idle, the fans spin a little bit, with the airflow just barely audible. Under load, fan noise remains minimal thanks to the hugely open chassis design and low overall power usage.

Subjective Audio Quality

The Aorus 17 features DTS:X Ultra audio. It does a great job of 3D positioning and stereo content, although the lack of deep bass is definitely there, as is expected in a laptop. I had the volume set to 30–40% most commonly, leaving lots of overhead in the speakers for loud environments.

Combining the Two

With fan noise at a minimum and very decently designed audio, the Aorus 17 does a stellar job of providing decent audio. It would be annoying if the fans were overbearing, or drowning out the audio content, so it's nice to see such an implementation in a laptop as this is not something all laptops do well.
