A Closer Look
Our sample is black, which means it can be placed on top of almost any desk. The surface of the Elite ZT is sleek and has anti-scratch properties. White and walnut-colored versions are also available. The desk is rigid and quite heavy, which makes moving it around a two-person job. Primarily made out of MDF (medium density fiberboard), the chassis is made out of steel. The steel base has rubber feet, which will protect the desk beneath the Elite ZT from scratches while keeping the Elite ZT in place.
Height-adjustability ranges from 14.5 cm to 46 cm (5.70" x 18.11"), and the button to make it happen is on the right side. The desk may stop at any given position. At approximately 43 dB, the motor is not noisy as far as motors go. It can move up to 41 kg (90.38 lb), which is more than enough considering a 19" monitor weighs less than 4 kg (8.8 lb).
There is a USB charging port on the right side, which is really convenient since we all have smart devices and/or peripherals we eventually have to recharge. Since it is a desk that goes on top of your existing working desk, dimensions play a significant role. No one wants to upgrade their current desk only to lose previously available surface space they were depending on.
The dimensions of the Elite ZT's upper surface are 91.5 x 61 cm (36.02" x 24.01"), which is enough for a laptop and mid-sized monitor, or a multi-monitor setup with mid-sized monitors. In any case, you should carefully check if that is enough to cover your needs before purchasing this product. If you need more space, take a look at the
Elite 60.
What's even of greater importance when choosing an electric desk is its stability when completely elevated, along with the weight capacity and provided warranty, of course. The acoustics of the motor are not that important since you most likely won't adjust the height often, and it is done in a matter of seconds.
